Venom Spawn...YUK!...

Have Anyone seen the Venom Spawn at www.hmm4.com?
Well personally I think it looks like some kind of
icky goo or something.....
The name Venom Spawn sounds like some tough guy that shoots venom or something doesnt it?
I dont wana complain about it but I think the Venom Spawn belongs in some game like Starcraft With the Zerg...

nah...

...not even the Zerg would take one as Venom Spawn in their ranks ...I mean, I don't expect a guy in a symbiote armour complete with chains and cloak, shooting venom, but something a bit more creative than "a pile of green goo"
...yet, in a disturbingly mysterious way, it seems fitting ...that green thing could only manifest itself inside the new Necropolis...

I think they fit perfect. And their look is OK, it suits their name - it's creepy, ugly, and looks like a pile of Goo (or some kind of venom)

or just a work of an unexperienced designer who has not only lost all self-criticism but is also very bored with designing creatures. would fit in diablo maybe, but never in homm. in the old times, is an artist would have painted a pile of goo, what would the medieval noble ppl have said about it? somehow, i havn't seen any pictures that depict a pile of goo from the medieval times. i think the artists had bit more dignity then.

Can't believe what he hears.

Gerdash? How can you say that! The Diablo creatures and Enemies are 100% original! They don't steal from other games and all creatures are Unique! Many Homm creatures are original, But many are very ugly. I really love the Manticore. But I hate the dragon models, they are all look a like with different colors..

After seeing the screen shots in the latest review where it has a giant pool of slime underneath it, I think it looks a little cooler. Kind of like one of those slimes or oozers that we are always seeing in fantasy games. But I can understand why some don't like it.

Baaangg...!

Well, I hate to say it, but I`ve really got used to that plash of cum. Maybe it`s good to have some really dark twisted evil ugly creatures like VenomSpawn in fantasy too? They make the game more exotic... Hehee...

thats not related i mean the trogolodyte looks like a beggar with a balloon instead of the head...and the mech dragon...they would have burned you for mechanics(science was not allowed etc.) personally i think venom spawn KICKS ASS...some kinda retard created by a sorcerer who wanted to make a super creature but mixed somekind of component up with cum(thnx dajek!)...

wesley:
what, did i say that the diablo creatures are rip-offs? i think i didn't even say anything even close to that.

another topic is how cheap and unimaginative is the pile-of-goo style in general. i am afraid that most of us have proudly created a pile of goo some time. every pile of goo has looked like no other pile of goo, but that doesn't make them neither decient nor original imho.

matthy:
??? where have i said that i like the dragon golem, the troglodyte, etc?

in the old times creating a quality picture was bit more expensive, and artists were more decient and respected ppl that didn't waste time with painting piles of goo.

========
btw.. the venom spawn building doesn't look very good (well lack of imagination, i would say again, looks like sth just to fill an empty spot), but if the venom spawn would look bit less goo-ish like it's building, i would probably complain much less.

Gerdash is right....

I dont really like admitting that OTHER people are right instead of me but, i think that a pile of goo doesnt seem very undead or necromancer-alike or does he (it).

Well i agree with gerdash ''lack of imagination''.

Well I don't think you can claim lack of imagination on the venom spawn. If you look at the big picture, it definetely looks unlike anything you have ever seen before. Weither or not that is a good thing however is apparently different in the opinions of different people.

I didn't used to like it, but I like the newer pictures more. Slimes and oozes have always been traditional in fantasy, and the necropolis seems like a good place for them. Still not my favorite, but I can deal with it.

The venom spawn is what a bad designer does when his (HER in this case) inspiration is gone. Yes, the self esteem is gone but there's also a lack of respect for the players too.
And still it wouldn't have been so bad if it was simply added to the other creatures. What makes it worse is that this pile of **** is replacing cool creatures.

Ok Vlad, I think we all understand that you dislike it, and that no matter what arguments are presented you will continue to dislike it. Just accept that other people have different opinions then you and get over it.

No... we can't stop arguing! That takes all the fun outta it (ladies and gentlemen, we have excellent debates and discussions here... let's not stop so we can "settle our differences" because that would just be boring 'cause everyone has different views which is what makes the world so interesting) As for myself, I was rather unhappy with the pile of goo living in Necropolis... it looks rather strange. I have no preference in this case, but I understand where both sides are coming from. It is a highly detailed piece of goo, different from anything I have ever seen, but I wonder if 3do should get applause for making up a pile of... goo?

Oh I agree arguing is half the fun. But some people here are so set in their views, that they don't really discuss things and just state over and over how much they hate things. That's not really an argument.

I'm kind of like you on the venom spawn really. I'm not sure yet.

Love this Post..

I think this is pretty fun that MY post got so many replies, its fun to read them.
but i still think that i dont like the pile of goo (actually with some needles in it too, betetr or worse?)
but is this pile REALLY needs to be in this game, why not put it in the fortress or something.
Maybe the fortress dont exist in Homm4 i dunno...

Hi to everybdy on this forum. As you guessed i'm knew here, but i wanted to say something about this topic... VenomSpawn is associated with necropolis town. Now, isn't necropolis the town of the dead? However ugly and inimaginative it is, it seems more alive than dead... Maybe some sort of elemental( OK, not the best association, but it's the best i can think of right now) and even if the elementals were not considered living, they were unLiving not unDead... Maybe you could give me some of your opinions... Thanks

...nice name... how's your father?

...the Vanom Sapwn actually looks like a failed (?) experiment... and gfrankly I don't think it would fit in anywhere else... not that it fits in the new Necro that is, for now, we can only think of it as a demon of sorets...
