I watched Avangers: Endgame again today. That's how you make a cohesive movie that ties all plotlines and lets each character shine.
Yeah I know it is not the height of moviemaking, but it's definately the tops of a beloved franchise done right.
EDIT: "Cats" is a bomb. Seems the World is still not ready for furries

Finally watched Watchmen.
What a movie! Like you take a checklist for a great movie and tick all one by one The plot, characters, violence, humour, action, sex, nostalgia. And the music, too.

It’s also a TV show now, not quite sure if it’s the same universe or lore but thatis an interesting one, too.

It's the same, but takes a lot of liberties in how it constructs the plot past the comic book events.
Personally I liked the tv series, but for me the movie is superior with it's atmosphere (and the time period in which it takes place is more interesting for me), even if it is highly criticized for it's plot changes.

I love how they shot 1917 to make it look like one continuous filming. The visuals were amazing (transitioning from the lifeless No Man's Land and then to the green fields and then the hacked-down cherry trees).

Last movie I saw The Irishman, the only film of 2019 worth a damn.
Joe Pesci didn't called anyone a motherbleeper, so that was dissapointing, but the rest is superb, typical Scorcese style. good storytelling, good acting, good effects.

At some point I watched Guy Ritchie's king Arthur film and it was hilarious(ly bad) It reminded me of Hollywood's massive basterdization of Greek mythology.
[GENERIC SPOILERS, READ FOR A LAUGH]
Mordred is some warlock that summoned lotr oliphants.. before Arthur's birth. The world of mages is separate, like Harry Potter I guess? The street-wise Arthur runs an underground network and is taught kung fu by a Chinese guy in London! Later he is thrown into a forgotten land with giant rats/bats to unlock the power of excalibur! (Because he resists it.) The villain, Vortigern turns into a turbo-charged death knight with a ritual! Sir Bedivere is played by.. Djimon Hounsou! Sir Tristan is.. Wet Stick! Who? Exactly ^^ Merlin is ofc absent from the whole affair but we get his best wizard girl!

Lol, now I think movies like First Knight or the 90's Merlin miniseries look like masterpieces in comparison.

Ah, don't get me wrong, I do like it. I wouldn't call it excellent though. I can't stand Gere as Lancelot.
And compared to what Elvin described, I really think it is a masterpiece.

I didn't watch the brand new Robin Hood or brand new King Arthur because even the trailers were cringe material.
Best movie based on Albion & King Arthur & Merlin, etc. is still Disney's 1963 The Sword and the Stone. It's been downhill since then.

There was a decent one from the 1980’s, it was named Excalibur if I’m not mistaken. Or maybe I liked it because I was like 13 or something when I saw it.

I haven't seen it since my teen years but it clearly left an impression. I remember it looked amazing and had a cinematic quality about it, also grand music.
Never watched the Disney film, should check out of curiosity if anything.

Yep, that's because it's one of the least popular and underrated Disney movies. There was also a one called The Black Cauldron. Same situation, but this one probably because it's darker then your usual Disney movies. It was nicknamed "the film that almost killed Disney" because it bombed pretty hard... I think there are people who would be happy if that did happen

I watched the Sword and the Stone multiple times as a kid and I'm not sure if it would have appeal for somebody watching it as an adult. There is a scene where Merlin and young Arthur polymorph into squirrels, and two female squirrels chase them around and try to mate with them.
It's the sort of thing that was fine in the 1960s but would be censored today.

Just watched "Color out of space". Recommended by a coworker after i told him i was a fan of Lovecraft. Any Lovecraft fan would recognize the movie's name.
Great movie; aside from nick cage's horrible acting. Why does he keep getting cast in good films when there are so many unknown actors better than him?
