Avatars Explained '09
This is the thread for us to explain our choice of Avatar!
This hasn't been done in at least two years; I'm not sure if it's ever been done, but just in case, I've added a year denominator to the subject line. In any case, Avatars often change and people come and go, so it's useful to redo this every now and then.
This is different from the Avatars thread because that thread is about the Avatar's looks and size and other technical choices. This is about personal meaning and fun stories.

I'm currently using
H4 Druid Aeris
Heroes 4 is my favorite, and I choose my heroes mainly for looks, since they have no abilities. I liked the look of Aeris, so when I'm playing Nature I keep restarting until I get him. I also almost always hire Rufus the Thief, no matter which town I'm using. I do this so often that I start to think of Aeris as "me" and Rufus as "my sidekick", and it's an unpleasant shock when I see an AI using one of them.

Baklava
Cause my nick is Baklava and I like baklavas and the "Baklava" avatar happens to have a baklava on it.

Wiat! I don't get it Baklava! You mean you use the baklava avvie cuz' it's an baklava on it and you're called baklava and like baklavas? I don't see the connection here! Some one help me understand!
Used the angel avvie to make worst joke ever. Since angeln means fishin in german, I made my custom status german fisherman. "HAHA!"
God! I got change my custom status...

well I like Death in H4, and I laugh alot (atleast to the jokes here) and Baron von tarkin is from the Death team and it looks like he's laughing.

It's a demonic hand that is holding a skull. It kind of reminds of Hamlet; and fiery exploding corpses.
I have been thinking about changing my avatar into something a little more fitting; perhaps some Batman villain; Jim Carrey would do quite nicely as well. Whatever it is going to be, I'll see to it that it will be moderately camp.

Yes. He played the Riddler in Batman Forever. I'm not that much into the design though  .

Also, my avatar
is just something I randomly drew one day. A little pink creature going through an odd, gooey blue landscape, underneath a grey sky. It doesn't mean anything much, really. There's also a Christmas version, with a festive santa hat and seasonal background colours.

It all started from some NWN module called "Tales of Arterra". The second chapter has some NPC that has my avatar as the portrait, just a bit modified. When I looked up on credits I found this notification that the NPC's portrait is from Lineage 2.
Then I searched for Lineage 2 with Google, found the official site and just loved the music/videos/art/images. Also found the wallpaper 'source' for that portrait, and made my avatar from it.
