Kill the King (IC)

If you remember this RP, I decided to start it (I think it wont work, but lets try it, if its ok )

He is some more system info by the GM (that's me )

First here is where you all start:

Hemlock (Dagoth) - Zandaar
Varn (Mamga) and Ehin (Instants) - The Sun Altar
Hanz (Blizzard) and Genwulf (Lucky) - Deep in the agamand's forest

“Kill the King!” Said the old man, his green eyes were shining in insanity, he stand up with the help of his old walking stick and repeated: “Kill the king of Zandaar and bring me his royal sceptre to prove it, kill him first and I’ll give you everything you need!”.

You can start with some basic info/actions for your chars, what for Event 1!

The events are going to happen from time to time in ordet to keep the dynamic of happenings. The first even is going to be for the defenders!

"The man is a fool!" said Genwulf storming into his hut.

"Why?" said A young boy who watched the wizard as he started packing.

"Why?" said the wizard pausing and gawking at him as though it was obvious. "Il tell you why! With those simple words he has doomed us all! The king has spies everywhere and the king will be hearing of it immediately! As soon as he knows patrols will be swarming on every lawless backwater, every inch of road that leads to the kings castle will be guarded by at least 4 people. The best ive got is that i have never stired the kings interest and managed to stay anonymous. Something i cant say for the rest of our organization."

Explained the wizard trowing out useless items he should have cleaned out years before.

The boy stared blankly at the wizard as item after item went out the window.

"So what are you going to do?" said the boy
"What else is there to do? Kill the king..." said the wizard strapping his backpack and walking out the door.

"Im coming with you!" said the boy.

Genwulf stopped mid stride and knelt to the little boy.

"I promised your mother that i would keep you safe, and i cant do that if your with me. I have a friend up in the mountains. Go to him, here is a map so that you can find him." said the wizard ruffling the boys hair and giving him a rolled up parchment.

He grabbed a long wooden staff with silver spikes at the end that made it look like a club and walked out of the small wooden cabin but paused.

"Youll be needing these." said the wizard conjuring the boy his first pair of boots.

Aphasia Wye finished off his cold meal, and climbed up a nearby tree. He were thinking about rumors he had heard earlier the same day. There were a price on the King Agamands head. The price weren't gold, land or anything he had heard of before. It were simply everything he would want for the rest of his life. He frowned.
That can't be right, he thought. But still the thought lingered, and he had to admit it were tempting. The king were among the best protected persons in the world, and he were looking for a challenge.

"There you are." he murmured, as he saw the old man walking down the road. He had watched the man for almost a week now, and every day the man had walked this path home. The man hadn't paid back the money he owed someone, and therefor Aphasie were sent after him. The man passed just below the limb where the assassin stood, as he dropped down with twin daggers drawn. The man looked up, but too slow to realize what had happened he fell to the ground before he could react, deep wounds through his neck.
Soundless and effective. Aphasia thought, putting the daggers back in his belt. But still nothing new.

And with that he decided to head north; to kill the king.

"You bloody idiot!" yelled Furgin at Aphasia, who was quite unaware of the drunken man's presence.
"Now who the hell is gonna give us that prize for killing Mister Zandaar! Huh!?"
When Aphasia ignored Furgin and kept on walking, Furgin followed Aphasia and said, "Well I've nothing better to do" while taking a huge gulp of whiskey then continued, "So I'm coming with ya. Besides! No one can kill the king on his own! So wait here and lemme get my crossbow, Allie!"
And with that, Furgin ran off to Goldrush village, 15 miles away, expecting to get there quickly and fell on a root and stayed there on the dirt road, obviously unconscious.

Aphasia frowned, trying to ignore the drunk. He never killed without a reason, so unless the man attacked him he wouldn't do anything. Please leave, please leave... he kept thinking. He was a loner by nature, barely ever using words at all, and when he did it was usually about money. Then suddenly the man said something about running back, and left the assassin alone.

"North..." Aphasia Wye whispered, going straight through the forest instead of using the road, making sure to cover his tracks. Only a skilled tracker would be able to find his trail, which was perfect for him. He didn't want to be found.

Or I could take another approach, he thought. The ocean.

Furgin woke up in his bed in the tavern of Goldrush village. He reached for a bottle of whiskey on the bedside table. It wasn't there. That meant something was wrong. He sat up and stared at the man at the door. It was Orman Pratz, the mayor of town.
"We found you lying on the side of the road in Agamand's forest, with a dead old man nearby. Explain yourself!" said the mayor sternly.
"Well, I found this guy, and he killed the old man...uhh...then I ran away, but fell and...uhh...here I am now." replied Furgin vaguely.
Orman exasperated and yelled, "Guards!" as two men clad in leather armor with axes showed up at his sides.
"Take this man to the prison, on an account for murder." said the mayor who clearly disliked Furgin.
As the guards advanced, Furgin picked up his crossbow, Allie, which was laying on the floor by the bed with a bolt ready to shoot. He shot it at one of the surprised guards and picked up an empty whiskey bottle from under the bed and smashed it on the other guard's head. Orman, frightened ran across the long hallway as Furgin armed Allie again and shot the bolt. It flew well and true, piercing the mayor's head.
"Ahahaha!" laughed Furgin maniacally as he got out of his bed and prepared himself to kill the king of Zandaar.

Event 1 - Assassins
The Spy

Location - Somewhere in the Agamand's forest

- Thats great! Thats sooo great! We have... how many... - the man started to count the sheets of yellowish paper in his hands - we have like 500 here, more 700 in your hands and like 5000 at the card! - his younger friend was just listening, his face was lacking any expression, the man continued to bemoan his fate - we have 4000 of this ****s to stick around the wood!

- Mesko, Mesko... it's nice that you've never visited the school... - the other guy made his comment.

- What you mean with this?

- Forget.

- Oh, ya, "forget"... - Mesko repeated with funny voice - you freaking zandaar noble, you always keep saying that! My parents were so poor that we were sleeping in the byre next to the cows! And you most likely was in the kings bed?! You freaking noble milksop! And your name... ah, your name, I really like your full name! Leo-Constantine Adamante! Leo ******* Constantine ******* Adamante! I'll scream it here, cuz the birds on the trees are going to fall, and maybe finally we are going to have something for lunch! Hell, who is going to give such a long name to a shorty like you! I have two heads more then you in stature!

Mesko and Leo were laughing in the way like they would id they see the king himself steping to them in ping tights. They were friends since their childhood, they both liked to play in the mad, or to use old branchs as sword and play on Zandaar guards, they both were stealing cherries from Lord Aaron's orchard and pie from the city bakery. The only difference between them was their birth. Mesko was child of poor farmers, they were getting money thanks to the cowmilk of few bags of bones... cows, while Leo was kid of hereditary Zandaar nobles, they were actually in kinship with the king, after his son married Lord Adamante's daughter - Leo's older sister.

Lord agamante was great man, one of the few aristocrats that always served the people and not his purse. But shortly after he become 50 he died. After audience in the kings palace he got heart attack. Leo always beliåved that the king killed his father, because of the small detail that Lord Adamante was cousin of Agamand Adamante, now known as the bandit king.

- Agamand is crazy... no, really, he is paranoic! - said Mesko and continued using his his funny voice - "Listen boys, we have a problem, there are Zandaar spys around, so pleace nail these ***** on the trees all around the forest! Also don't forget to mention for the carnival at the Nearland island if you meet someone!", blah, blah, blah... - Mesko started to yell - Agamand, you crazy freak, it's 44 degree, and the sun is going to melt us like sugar stick!

- Damn, Mesko, shut up! Let's finish with this and go back! - Leo interrupted him.

- Easy to say... - said Mesko quietly.
- What???
- Nothing, nothing... let's nail these ************s and go on shade.

Leo took one of his sheets and lay it on one of the trees near the road, Mesko helped him to nail it with one very rusty and small hammer.

The words on the sheet were saing:

WANTED

Alan-Tor
Grand master spy of Zandaar
Face - unknown
Bring him alive or dead to Nearland island
Seen for last time - Akula post
Reward - Noble title, crimson mantle and weapon made by Anurak the blacksmith

P.S.
Don't forget for the carnival at Nearland island this Friday - free coco-nuts and drinks!

Dear Diary:

"Today marks the final chapter in my life; my years of retirement have ended. I will go on one final adventure, and I suspect I will not survive. I just received word that the bandit king put a bounty on the King of Zandaar's head. A bounty of anything I want. Fine words if it were within his power to return my youth. All the same, if Fate has the audacity to let me succeed in killing him, I will leave this world with a powerful legacy. All will know that the King was a fool to dismiss the White Jester from his court. Aye, I have one last prank to play on him, and he will not find it so amusing."

After finishing his entry, Hanz wiped the remaining ink of the quill pen on his sleeve, and began rubbing his temples. He looked down at his aged, spotted arm, at the odd red mark that had started to form around one of his moles.

Just another sign of my age, I suppose.

He lifted himself from his chair and began packing what few useful things he had in his log cabin: his out-of-date white jester outfit, his tobacco and marijuana pouch, the pitiful remains of his alchemical reagents, his marble walking stick, his ink and journal, and his black hat, with a fresh white feather still sticking out the top. After securing everything in his small leather backpack, he grabbed the oil lantern sitting on his desk and moved to the door. He stepped outside and looked around at the few other cabins dotting the hillside. The sun had barely risen over the hills, and everybody still seemed to be sleeping. He smashed the oil lantern on the doorstep, and carelessly flicked some burning ash from his tobacco pipe behind his shoulder. The entrance of the cabin promptly ignited.

Just to keep myself from changing my mind.

Now then... the first stop is Goldrush Village. I'll need to resupply my alchemical reagents before heading north. I was never a fan for scenic routes, so I think I'll take the main road, through Dark Tower territory.

Hanz sighed.

"I'm too old for this ****."

"Now, Dont go saying that old friend, you look twice better than me and im only half your age." said Genwulf as he walked by, holding his staff over his shoulder, backpack strapped firmly where it should be, and a bag made of cloth tied to the end of his staff.

He stopped. His eyes picket out Hanzes backpack.

"So you must be going to kill the king yourself." Hanz raised an eyebrow.

"Its very obvious that your going Somewhere and in all my short years of knowing you i have never seen you go out of your own front door like your doing now. Either its to kill the king or to find a new house."

He notice the flames that were licking the insides of his doorway.

"Would you like me to put them out?" said Genwulf questioningly.

"No" said Hanz in a thin quivery voice.

"Come, if you are going somewhere we can walk together for awhile, we would both enjoy the company."

He trudged off either Hanz would follow or he would go his own way, he didnt care if the old man was running to his own doom.
All Genwulf wanted was a peaceful existence. Maybe if he brought the kings head to the old man he would give him a little place close to the seashore. He might call it Dragon Burrow.

Genwulf, that thrice-damned wizard. I should have known the little squirt would have been frolicking around in the morning. I suppose he might prove useful, at least for awhile...

"Genwulf, I'll have you know that I don't prize my life as much as I used to. If you travel with me, understand that after I retrieve fresh supplies from Goldrush Village, I'm heading in a direct line north to Zandaar. I'll even be in the dangers of Dark Tower territory for a brief time. No doubt, many foolish young assassins have heard of the bounty on the King, and you can be sure that they're far more athletic than myself or your bony hide," Hanz ranted. He tapped his marble walking stick into Genwulf's soft torso to emphasis his point.

"Indeed," he continued, "We'll need to take the quick and dangerous route if we're to make pace with them. Time is against us, and it's especially against me. You better have some good spells up your sleeve, because I suspect you will need them."

Hanz continued to walk with Genwulf, smoking his tobacco pipe and rehearsing in his mind how to properly speak in the royal court. His tongue would perhaps be his most precious weapon, assuming he could make it to Zandaar alive.

Aphasia Wye moved swiftly through the shadows by the shore, looking for a ship he could pay to carry him around the Dark Tower territory. He would have to switch ship several times, to make sure it didn't look like he were on the way from the bandit land, to reduce suspicions. There weren't many ships that traveled that way this close to the carnival, so it wouldn't be easy to find a ship where the captain could be trusted. After talking to several captains, most of them people with no honor, he finally found one he felt would be worth traveling with. The man were named Rue, and were known to keep his word and bring travelers who wanted to remain unseen. He would leave after the carnival, and would arrive between The Sun Alter and Fort Moonfog one week after departure. He had seventeen veterans at his ship, and promised Wye that his ship wouldn't go down easily if there were trouble.
With that in mind, Aphasia Wye paid to get a room for the three remaining days.

Bring me his head! The head of the damn snow! And I’ll cover you with gold, kill Agamand, the bandit king!”, said verbeating Monag – king of Zandaar, but no one spoiled the shadow behind him.

Hemlock stood in the throne room when this was shouted to all noblemen who had gathered especially for this order. Hemlock himself was a proud member of the royal guard for twenty-five years and had received the honour of defending the king in his seat of power as one of the closest guards. Though he was growing towards retirement, he was still a powerful man that could easily beat any intruder back to the pits from whence they crawled. In the army he was a zweihander, a form of shock trooper that was equipped with heavy tools and armour to punch a hole into enemy formations. He had learned many techniques to dodge enemy spear walls and how to block an arrow with his greatsword.

This had earned bim much prowes and the rank of sergeant, he remembered proudly, but most of all it allowed him to ascend in the highest services to the king of Zandaar as a royal guard. He lost his rank and factual power, but still commanded respect from all soldiers around him, since he still kept his zweihander with him at all times.

He decided that he would go to the royal river to retrieve as much info from the archer garrison as he could and continue on to fort moonfog after a small detour. He would definitely kill any suspicious -looking character carrying weapons without a uniform near the region of Zandaar. He left his post at Zandaar which the king gladly allowed to get back at the bandit king. The king seemed to feel very comfortable in his current position.

Hemlock strapped his heavy plate armour, travelling supplies and his sword to his body and left. He was still strong enough to carry all that, while performing long day marches. this fact boosted his confidence more than he thought it would.

Genwulf knew that Hanz neither wanted his company nor enjoyed it but he loved the thought of slowly torturing him with his presence.

Payback for all the carrots he "traded" for his potions which did nothing to his peas except making them shrivel and die faster than they would have done with no water at all. He wondered what unpleasant thoughts he was thinking now.

They had been walking for a few hours at most and the dense forest was leaving them so many leaves in theyre hair they had to stop once in a while to shake them off. On the way Genwulf told Hanz of the beauties of the world.

He delighted in thinking that Hanz was wishing he could punch every inch of his body but they both knew if he tried that he would be in a worse state than if he would have left him alone.

They passed over a creek that marked the end of the forest. Something was wrong. The birds have all been scared away and there was no sound of any other woodland critters.

There was the sound of beautiful singing a few meters away. A womans voice. Genwulf walked closer to source.

"My, my what a sight! Just like a fairytale, want to have a look?" he said to Hanz.

Varn finished drinking the ale and got up. He clearly remembered the messenger's words as the bitter drink found its place in his stomach.

“Bring me his head! The head of the damn snow! And I’ll cover you with gold, kill Agamand, the bandit king!”, said verbeating Monag – king of Zandaar, but no one spoiled the shadow behind him.

Bandits... people just can't deal with the simple facts. the King of zandaar has control over a vast area. he has rules for those in his area. you can't just not obey them and live on his soil. Varn brought down his fist. Varn realized he had smashed his drink and that the remainder of the people in the tavern were staring at him. he calmed slightly... Oh how those troublesome rogues made his blood boil, yet he did not want his blood boiling. He had always been quite calm through his childhood. I suppose leaving the sun altar is a good idea. My training is completed. Upon this he left the tavern and before he exited dropped a shiny coin into a beggar's palm.

Varn only had one thing to do now. Follow his orders to move on to the castle to provide extra aid to the defenders there.

Aphasia finished his beer, and walked back to his room. He would rest a few days, then he would leave. Boats always made him seasick, so he really didn't look forward to the journey. He had a perfect balance, but the waves and the smell of the sea weren't something he was used to. So he waited, one day had passed in the tavern. He heard news and rumors, seemingly he weren't the only one going to kill the king. But he wouldn't go along with anyone unless they proved worthy. He wouldn't go with anyone that could give him away, anyone that couldn't move without making any sound.
He reached his room and took off his cloak, his dagger belt and his shirt. He unsheethed two long daggers and began slowly moving, daggers doing strange motions, slashes and stabs pointed at invisible pressure points and muscles and hot spots on the body of an enemy. He had developed the dance several years ago, and he practised it daily, to keep in shape. Because of that dance, every motion he made with his knife were practised, fluid and perfect. He never made a random strike, and all he knew were part of his ritual. He went faster and faster, daggers slashing through the air almost faster than the eye could follow.
When he finished, nearly an hour later, his body were covered in sweat. He never went out of his room after the dance, being too exhausted to even walk for long distances. He laid down on the bed and fell asleep within seconds. Tomorrow he would leave.

"No horse! NO HORSE!" yelled Furgin obnoxiously at the Goldrush village stablemaster, "What the hell am I supposed to travel on!? A donkey!?"
"Actually, I do have a donkey!" replied the stablemaster happily.
"No, no, no! I want a horse!" yelled Furgi again before he took another drink of whiskey.
"Well, I don`t have a horse available for you! They were all bought by these guys in black, rogues I think. I knew better than to say no." said the stablemaster, "All I have is a donkey. I`m sorry, and he`ll be 200 crowns."
"200 crowns! No! I`m only gonna pay 100 crowns!" said Furgin, clearly upset by the deal.
"Well, then you have no steed, sir."
"Oh, really?" said Furgin as he pulled out his loaded crossbow and aimed it at the stablemaster`s face, "I say he`s 100 crowns. Take it or leave it."
The sablemaster`s face grew pale and he said, "I`ll take it...and that`ll be 100 crowns, sir."
Furgin smiled, his crooked yellow teeth gleaming, and said, "Thank you, sir. Here is your money.", while he handed 100 crowns to the fightened stablemaster and took the donkey`s reins and led him out of the stable.
"You may ony be a donkey, and a fatass one at that, but you still need a name." said Furgin to the clearly overweight donkey, "So what should I call you...hmmm...ah! How about Chummy? Eh? No? Hmm...Quevphffeighn (pronounced as "kevin")...yeah...Quevphffeighn! Haha! That`s yer name. Well... let`s go kill a king..."
Furgin slung his bag of belongings on Quevphffeighn`s back and hopped on him. Furgin then rode the poor, lazy, donkey into the Dark Tower territory, clearly drunk.

Dear Diary:

"By all the powers above, may I have the mental stamina to make it Zandaar without trying to kill this young brat. I hope the entire black horde is waiting for us in Dark Tower territory so my exit from this world is quickened. I've been walking through the woodlands with Genwulf for quite some time now. We're expected to arrive in Goldrush Village later today, where we'll fetch fresh steeds and my much needed reagents. I look as helpless as an old man, and right now, I am!"

Hanz finished his brief entry and safely secured away his journal. He discouragingly ate his breakfast of cold rations while watching Genwulf devour a fire-roasted duck.

I'm not going to even ask him where he got a duck in the middle of the wooded mountains. I'm not even going to ask...

"Well my friend, shall we be off? Glory awaits us," Genwulf chirped, his eyes gazing down the trail with recharged vigor.

Hanz stood up, rubbing his sore lower back. He had rolled onto a rock during the later hours of his slumber.

"Are you okay?" Genwulf inquired with a smile.

"Yes, I'm absolutely fantastic, you ****ing idiot," Hanz retorted.

The duo made their way through the last stretch of woods before reaching Goldrush. They spotted the smoke from the village blacksmith rising in the distance, and a rush of warmth filled Hanz's cold heart. As they were about to continue they heard the alluring singing of a woman coming nearby.

"Let's have a look," Genwulf suggested.

They crept into the clearing, and an attractive young woman was sitting by a stream, feeding a small group of ducks.

"Ah, it's probably the same stream we encountered yesterday," Genwulf reasoned.

"We encountered a stream yesterday?" Hanz questioned.

"Well, it was a ways off the trail. I saw it when I went off to take a leak. There was a bunch of ducks in it, so I killed me one for breakfast. Figured it would be far better than those old rations you were eating. Ha!" Genwulf replied, slapping Hanz's shoulder.

Stay calm. Just stay calm.

"Young lady! What brings you out here by yourself," Genwulf shouted out to the woman, startling her from her singing.

"Forgive me travelers, I came here alone for solitude," the woman replied, a slight tremble in her voice.

"A fine retreat, indeed. Ye best be careful, for there are many untrustworthy folk that roam these parts," Genwulf replied.

"Yeah, like us," Hanz muttered to Genwulf quietly.

"I know well the cruelty of this world, stranger," the woman replied, her voice shriveling into an icy rasp, "my husband, the mayor of Goldrush, was murdered by the bolt of a heartless spawn yesterday; an assassin of sorts."

"Seems somebody is trigger happy. I smell a good opportunity to aid us in our travels," Hanz whipered to Genwulf.

Hanz wiped his typically melancholy expression from his face, "Lady, perhaps it is Fate, and not chance, that has drawn us to your singing. Myself and my companion are sellswords of no small caliber. Take us to Goldrush and supply us with what you have, and perhaps we can bring this assassin to justice," Hanz replied.

Genwulf nodded.

Furgin rode Quevphffeighn out of the Dark Tower territory once he was sober again, and headed back in the direction of Goldrush village. He came by a stream where 3 people were sitting around, talking. He remembered one of them. It was Orman`s wife, crying about that ***hole`s deserved death. The other two where talking amongst themselves, thinking of killing him!  Him!
"Ahahahahahahaha!" laughed Furgin aloud, but being drunk, forgot that the people were right there. So they looked right at him as Furgin regained his senses and pulled out his crossbow and a large beer bottle...

Though he didnt think his travel with Hanz wouldent pull out more than childish enjoyment he was wrong. What a great idea! If he were to travel any further with Hanz he would keep a mite quieter.
A laugh was heard somewhere nearby. It was a laugh full of hickups.
A man wielding a crosbow came out.
"Ye'll nevar take me alive!!!" the man yelled out
"Gah. The drunks in these parts!" said Genwulf dropping his backpack to the ground while swinging the cloth bag off his staff.
He whirled it around to give the drunk second thoughts.

"Go back to the pub which spawned you!" he yelled at the man.

Aphasia woke up before sunrise, and went down to get some breakfast. He finished his meal (consisting of raw egg, cold meat, bread and cheese), and went down to the docks again. He quickly found Rue, and made certain they would be gone before noon.

"Hey, you!" someone shouted, as he were looking through some knives at a blacksmith. He turned slowly and saw a bearded man walking with quick steps toward him. The man were young and short, but powerfully built and had a battle axe strapped on his back. "I have seen you before!" the man said.
"I have been around." Aphasia said, his voice low and brutal, having a raw edge to it.
The man came closer, but made certain not to stay within reach. "We met at Mirror Lakes." the man said, "You killed my boss."
Aphasia moved his hand slowly and fastened it around the hilt on the dagger. "What do you want?" he said.
"Well, I don't know really... I were looking for a way to get rid of him myself." the man shrugged, "I suppose you are, as I am, heading north to kill the king?"
Aphasia remained silent, his hand tightening around the dagger.
"I just thought we could join up and work together, we'd have a better chance making it than if we're on our own." the man continued, "I have talked to a captain named Rue, it turns out we're both taking the same ship north anyway."
Aphiasia shrugged and nodded, indifferent.
"Suit yourself." he growled, "But I work best alone."
He turned around and started walking down to the docks again, the man following him just a few steps behind.
