Rikku re-locates the other three vines; Jack examines them in his usual manner.
“What do ya think, mate?”

Doom and Kamahl make it down the twisty ladder with a minimum of fuss, save a few minor slips on the wet surface. The river is much lower with the falls off; the two of them slog through some flotsam to the bank with the people and the gazebo and Doom discovers the reason for their pallidness and lack of response: they’re statues, carved in artful poses.

Rikudo has a nasty misstep partway across but manages to avoid the resulting sparks, and reaches the other side safely. Now all three are standing between the stone arches.

"What do I think? Well, I'm not sure. Maybe the one with those glass things?"
Glenn looks away as the sparks fall from above once again. He was sure they would hit Rikudo. However, he was soon relieved that he made it.
"Alright. We all made it this far. Now we have these things to figure out. They must be here for a reason."
Glenn looks for a rock to throw through one, just to see if it would do anything.

“All right then mate.” Jack yanks on the vine with baubles tied to it. A loud Dooooo-woooop! sound echoes through the walls and floor.

((Autoing time; pardon my cut-scene.  ))
The stone sails through without the least signs of resistance, arching through the air—
—clunking into something solid but invisible just in front of the nearby hedge. The struck air ripples and solidifies in to a woman of extreme grace and beauty—with eyes that practically crackle with fury and bird feet in place of human ones.
Brock, naturally, does not notice.
“I’m so sorry! My clumsy companion missed your all-encompassing beauty and hit you with a rock instead!” He gets down on one knee, grabbing her hand in both of his, love-struck as usual. “Please, tell me your name.”
Then—
Dooooo-woooop!
Light flashes into being across the three arches, forming a mirrored surface in each. The woman—or whatever it is—gives an inhuman shriek of rage and Brock has just enough time to realize he’s in trouble before the apparition flings him through one of the now-active archways. The stone doorway crumbles behind him.
The apparition then advances on Glenn. With inhuman speed she slashes at the halfling with her fingers, which have turned into claws—luckily his small size protects him somewhat, but as he’s between Rikudo and the apparition there isn’t much the latter can do to help. He rushes the woman (?), trying to drive her back to give them space to fight, but in the process her claws hook into the old chainmail vest he’s wearing and they both go tumbling into the centermost gate—which also crumbles behind them, leaving Rikudo alone.
((And Glenn and Brock have now officially been written out! *wipes forehead*))

And then.... there was another 3 man cell killed of, with just 1 survivor.
Well, the death gods smiled at my luck, i guessed.
I then checked if the ruble was moveable, but it was not. I did a short prayer for their lives and souls, before leaving on the path. Hopefully there would not be another manflaying monster around the next corner.
And just in case, I picked up the first long wooden stick I found, that could carry, and used it like a blind man looking for barriers, with my axe in the other hand ready for worst case scenario.
It sure sucked to not have the ability to sense the basics, and that there was no smokebombs.

Doom examines the statues.
"Not a bad piece of art." he looks at the nearby gazebo, "Is this some kind of resting place? A gazebo to sit in, statues to look at and wine to drink... A man of high class can get used to that."
He looks for a good spot to sit inside the gazebo and observes the room again.

Abaddon caught up to his companions. He had to swim through the wine river, which wasn't very pleasing him.
- I'll stink like a drunkard for at least a month after this swim!- he calmed down a bit and entered the gazebo.
- Without doubt this world is filled with weird sorcery, and I think we didn't even saw the half of it.

Rikudo finds a club and leaves the room with the singing stones for the passage beyond. It slopes downward slightly and comes out at a room filled with mushrooms—ranging from the size of a shirt button to massive things the size of dinner plates, they cover the floor and even grow up the walls a short distance. Every now and then furtive movement catches his eye. Another passage leads vaguely back the way he came; listening closely Rikudo can make out very faint voices.

Abbadon reaches the others just in time to witness Doom’s attempt to cross over to the gazebo. As Doom passes between two statues, both rotate towards him and a bolt of energy passes between them, nearly catching Doom in the process—he is able to leap back just in time to avoid injury. A quick glance shows more are hidden in the vegetation to either side, so going around doesn’t seem to be an option.

Doom looks at the statues ready to fight, but no other movement occurs.
"A mere piece of stone, magical or not, cannot harm Doom. However, if those are guards then they are guarding something. Now I really want to enter the gazebo."
He looks at Abbadon and says half jokingly.
"You are of quite small stature, Ezekyle, maybe we could throw above the statues to the gazebo to see what is on the inside?"

"Hmmm... you may be correct. I have yet to assert the physical limit of this new body." Dr. Doom clenches his fist a couple of times as if trying to determine his strength, "Well, if we cannot move each other, maybe we should try pulling our strengths and moving one of the statues near the wall. That way we would be able to move around their line of fire."

Jack yanks down on the medallion-vine and a tone like a gong sounds—and that’s not all. Through the opposite entrance, the three of them can hear the scrape of stone on stone.

Rikudo hears noise like a distant gong and scraping stone sounds coming from the opposite tunnel. The rustling in the mushrooms is getting closer…
((In other words the opposite tunnel leads back to the room with the tree.))

Rikudo quickly leaves the mushroom chamber and travels down the other passage toward the voices. Enroute, he sees a side passage where the stone has been warped out of shape—very recently, by the look of it ((as in, five minutes ago recently ))—but follows his original course until he comes to another large chamber with pink-tinted ground and a large tree bedecked with cages and other containers. At the foot of the tree, he sees Mark.

The three of you pool your strength and push at one of the statues against the wall. After a few great heaves the three of you manage to push it away, then the one behind it and the one behind that as well. The statues turn to follow the party’s progress but as you are careful not to step between them you make it to the gazebo without injury.
The building itself is at first unremarkable, but upon stepping inside you fell an upwelling of inner peace and clarity of thought. At the center of the building is a short carved pillar, thigh-high to a human, in which are engraved the words:
Knowledge flows on forever
But understanding comes only once
((+200 XP each, and +3 Intellect to Doom for finding a solution.  ))
Under the inscription, Abbadon notices a square panel set in the pillar.
