Rikku takes a few steps more toward the tree.
"We are looking for a little girl, right? Well, I suppose we should start looking around here before moving on. She might be hiding here. If not, we should probably move on."
Glenn watches the light things skipping about, making sounds. Like the mushrooms, he figures there may be an order to them, for safe passage. Otherwise, he may get zapped again....or worse.
"Watch those light things, and take note which stones, and the order, they hit them. It may be important."

"Well, first there is a huge gnarled tree here. What would you expect to have damaged it? Secondly, there are cages. If not monsters I suppose there could be bandits or the like, who maybe keeps monsters in the cages or prisoners." Mark said as he watched the lights, atempting to see if there are any system to how they move. Or if they do something strange.

"Whatever they are they don't look like much of a threat." Doom answered to his new companion, "A pity. I was hoping to find something more interesting than a group of feeble creatures intoxicated by alcohol fumes. Then again..."
Doom walks over to waterfall and tries to determine the source of the sparks. If he doesn't find anything alarming he also submerges his staff into the water to see how it will react and to get a closer look on the water that will stay on the staff.

Doom examines the liquid from the falls. It gives off no heat and does not seem to be inherently dangerous, so he submerges the end of his staff in the flow. A spray of red liquid and sparks fly up at the object’s intrusion, splattering him a little, but it seems to do no harm—even the sparks don’t hurt. Doom checks the dripping end of his staff (still spitting off feeble flecks of light) but it appears, for all intents and purposes, to be ordinary wine.

Some of the dancing lights react warily as Rikku approaches the tree—others ignore the Al Bhed or seem simply curious (insofar as is possible to tell in a creature that consists of a glowing light). A few have gathered around one of the bottles and are throwing little bolts of energy at it, knocking it back and forth. There is little other behavior of note.

Watching the little lights strike them, Glenn notices that there doesn’t seem to be a distinguishable pattern to the stones, save some give off different tones when struck. There do seem to be some stones the glowing creatures avoid entirely, however.

"I better take some of it for later research." He thought to himself and filled the bottle with the strange wine from the river.
"It had completely slipped my mind that you were looking for a girl down here. I'm not certain what good that will do to us, but let us ask those figures down there if they had seen anything."

Abbadon takes a sip from the falls and feels magic flow through his veins.

Doom manages to fill a bottle with the stuff without issue.

The rock strikes one of the paving stones, and a shower of brightly-sparking energy globes fall from the ceiling above ((read: Spark spell, for those of you who’ve played the MM games)). A few of the light creatures veer away from the phenomena and the globes bounce to a halt on the ground, where they persist for a moment or two before bursting. Fortunately, none of this is close enough to affect the three adventurers.

Rikku looks back, and turns around. A worried look lies upon the elf's face, and points behind Mark, at a high angle.
"It's Sin!"
Rikku felt a little uncomfortable after making the joke, turning bakc toward the tree.
"Sorry. You likely don't even know what I was talking about. Let's start looking around."
Rikku approaches the tree, and starts checking out its base. Failing to find anything, she starts making her way up.
Glenn doesn't like the looks of it. More zaps. Though, he would just have to avoid the wrong stones. A dance, perhaps. He watches the lights some more, and tries to memorize the stones, and come up with some steps to move across the floor safely. Steps that would take into account his reduced size.
"I am going to attempt to make my way across the floor now. Stand back, please."

"It's Sin!" Tidus had said while pointing behind Mark. This made Mark automatically turn around with his axe raised to strike whatever 'Sin' was, but nothing was there.
"Sorry. You likely don't even know what I was talking about. Let's start looking around." Tidus said again and Mark understood that it must have been a joke. So whatever this 'Sin' was it was what Tidus considered to be a worst-case scenario.
"No, I am afraid I cannot say I know what or who this 'Sin' is, but I would love to learn about it later." Mark said in a calm friendly tone before pointing over towards behind the tree and jokingly said in a childish voice "Look, it's Nergal with an army of morphs!" before breaking out in a uncomfortable laugh "Nah, I am glad he most likely is not here.
Mark approached the tree and when he stood right in front of it he took a new look around to see if he could see anything new and interesting.

Rikku, Mark and Jack explore the base of the tree; Rikku finds what looks like ladder steps nailed into the opposite side of the truck, except it appears to have grown in that shape. Rikku climbs up the steps to the bowl between the tree’s main branches.
The view here is not extraordinarily different from below, save for being closer to most of the oddments hanging from the tree and farther from the ground. Rikku does notice a few trailing objects—very old rope or vine, it’s discolored enough that it’s difficult to say which—hanging down into the bowl. There are four of them, each starting from pulleys above Rikku’s head like bell-pulls or curtain cords, and each ending with a different bauble—one with little glass doodads, one with a bit of grape vine tied in place, one with a medallion of some sort, and the fourth and last with an hourglass on it.

Glenn makes his way across the stones after a careful analysis; Brock follows. The pair find themselves between a trio of old stone archways with brightly colored stones set at the tops.

Doom looks around again. Not finding anything else of interest to him, he turns towards the pale figures and addresses them in a loud voice:
"You, down there! My name is Doom! Now tell me who you are and what is this place?"

Jack climbs up the tree after Rikku and looks around. She pokes around the branches and ropes/vines with her usual lack of concern for appearances and finally comes to a stop by the vine-thing with ivy tied on.
“Interesting.” She gives it a tug. The vine descends easily but the only thing that happens is a sound—like a loud, low trumpet that is very distant.

Doom calls down to the figures, but they make no response—nor do they react in any other way.
A moment later there is an odd sort of sound like a faraway trumpet; the roar of the falls begins to die as the flow of wine slows to a stop. Beneath where the wine came out is a short platform and a twisty sort of construction that looks like someone tried to bend a fireman’s pole into a ladder. Down by the figures the ground disgorges a small, circular white building with a pinnacle roof and a railing in place of walls—a decorative gazebo.

"You think they are some key, like those mushrooms that Glenn ki...man was touching. Maybe some of the other vines do stuff."
Rikku goes to look for another vine to check out.

Doom goes down the uncovered ladder and heads to the gazebo to see if something catches his interest.
