I'd rather my kids watch people dying than people having sex.
Murder on tv is fake. the person that dies in the movie is alive, but the woman thats having sex is still a dirty cracked out nickel snow that (1) shows that girls are easy or can be easy and (2) can eliminate the sex drive for males that would rather sit home and beat off instead of getting to know girls for personality and being all sweet and sensitive and all that stuff.
I'm not saying I don't watch porn once in a while, but what I am saying is that it's not something that should be socially accepted. What if one day one of your daughters or and close relative becomes a porn star because she watched an interview with jenna jameson and how rich she is from being an immoral cheap snow and havin sex with hundreds of men she doesnt know?
TV violence is fake, sex is real.

I here what ur sayin but not all violence is fake.
(1) The News - that is on every couple of hours and is always showin u pictures of ppl who have been beaten up or scenes in another country of dead ppl lyin on road, iraq mainly. Last i acn remember was an elderley woman who had been beaten up in her home nd robbed. She luckily didnt die but the pictures were awful nd i doubt she rubbed it off as make-up afterwrds.
(2) Other shows such as crimewatch - reconstructs ppl's deaths or how someone was beat up to try and jog ppl's memories to if they saw/know sumthin. Ok so we know this one is fake but the same thing has happened to some poor person few days/weeks/months ago.
Alot of our shows i england do let us know if there is violence or sex in a programme/movie which is a good thing cuz it lets ppl know and get prepared for what they ar goin to watch or know to turn channel over.

You mean there are countries that don't tell you if there is sex or violence in a film?

So... what's the bloody difference between violence that is fake, and violence that would be real? Do you think young kids are able to tell the difference between reality and fiction? Some adults still have difficulties with that so what about kids?
Growing up in an environment where violence appears to be a normal thing, be it 'real violence' or 'fake', makes it appear more normal. These kids will grow up being more violence tolerant and possibly more violent themselves, period.
@Killa Bee: I think every parent wants their children to be happy and turn into good people. But wouldn't you rather have your children be open about their sexuality and do whatever makes them happy, even if it involves pornography, than see them grow up sexually frustrated or as violent people who hurt others? I know I would, but I guess that's a matter of opinion.

I've read somewhere that the thing with being exposed to abnormal scenes of violence, whether real or not is that your emotionometer gets accustomed to it. So one day you wake up, see your neighbour hit by a car and you do nothing to help him. Yeah, it is not a reasonable reaction at the time, but the thing is that your mind is forced to find a way to filter all the information it gets so only the stronger ones remain. Now tell me, what would the poor brain of a city boy choose to filter when all the junk he's getting per day is just 95% violence and murders?!
That is why kids today dont even blink when they kill a man in Counterstrike for example, or nobody helps when someone is mugged on the street. It's not fear, but the horrible sphere of normality they apply to such situations.
And it even gets worse, cos when the movie industry competes for more customers, they make only more and more violent movies, so that they are the ones that will pass the brain filter, and not some faint works, with just a few drops of blood.

Without reading the opinion of other people I cast my vote for more sex. Of course there are different level from erotic to rape, and not everything should be allowed. Neither am I saying that there should be only sex. However, the production of movies and also cartoons today is IMO too much to violence. I could add that children targeted TV stuff Soviet Union had tons of less violence than Walt Disney cartoons or those Marvel Universe (?) ones. Still no sex on the other hand.

I agree whole-heartedly.
Sex is way overcensored on TV in comparison to violence. If more people just had sex when they feel like attacking someone, the world would be a better place.
What is so bad about showing a nipple, when compared to emotional and physical abuse?
Is it because violence can carry a story more than a good romp?

TV is fake, but real sex is better than real murder.
Um, I guess I can't say that for sure, I've never tried real sex.

I think it's stupid and discrimination that only boobies are shown on television.
They are not, I have seen both, ever watched Big Brother Uncut?
It has got probably more of the male stuff then the girl's.
Not that I am into the male stuff, I would prefer to see more girls, but a lot of it is Male's.
So, it is not stupid and discrimination, as both have their fair share on the television.

I do not mind violence, in fact nearly all of my favourite movies have much violence in them.
And I do not mind sex either, sex is natural, does not bother me.

Aw Man ....
I really miss Svarog. He made a great post in this thread. I've been thinking about him a lot lately. I recently watched a program detailing the life of his favorite revolutionary Che. I think after all this time I finally understand his attraction to the guy.
