damn. color me surprised. i thought doomforge and elvin were going to be mods forever. well, i hope the new ones enjoy their work.
edit: i really think we need another mod to help cor in the vw. he already mods in the other 2 most frequent subforums; and now he mods in 3 of the most frequent(and in the vw now, solely). that's a lot of work for one mod.

Interesting to see some mods got replaced, especially Elvin and Alciblades, who didn't seem to have much troubles - at least not to deter them from visiting this place frequently.

I can't say this comes as a surprise. Elvin was occupied with reallife issues for the past time, unfortunately. Of the mods stepping down, I knew him best, I guess - which might be partially due to his spamming over the years  .
A respectful /bow to the three mods who have decided to pass on the blade to others as well as the two mods whom have unfortunately been unable to be with us anymore for a few years.
As for the three people who are stepping up to the task, I wish you three good luck and a lot of respect for the role you'll be undertaking for the community.

Well, I guess I have a few very large shoes to fill, but I will try my best  .

You know, in all honesty I expected this to happen sooner or later, but not to this extent. This is way scarier than what I had predicted to myself. Alcibiades, Doomforge and even Elvin stepping down? Crazy!
I will not say anything about how the process of investing new mods was kept hidden from the rest of us (maybe we had a say? should we have a say?) and I'm also not going to talk anything against the new candidates, only mentioning that I'm fully invested in Maurice. They'll have time to prove themselves if they haven't already.
And then, there was one spot left? How about a poll or competition with nominations? Could prove beneficial and fun.

A restructuring was long overdue, it's good to see it finally happening
All the choices look fair, I'm looking forward to work with them and see how they handle their new responsibilities
I would also like to make a shoutout for the mods stepping down, Elvin and Alci in particular, for they have always been ready to help, answer any question I had; and in general a joy to work with. Now you can enjoy some well-deserved rest

Ok, all changes are made now. To clarify a couple of things:
Alci, Elvin and Doomforge left purely of their own choosing (and to my disappointment!) and there was no conflict or tension in the squad that brought this about. Simply a shift of their personal priorities and interests, which happened to happen at around the same time. Removing two moderators who went missing seemed like a logical thing to do at the same time.
Because of the large gaps this would leave in forum coverage we discussed potential candidates. I then approached 4 HC members directly and 3 of them accepted (the remaining one also wanted to but simply didn't have enough free time to commit).
The whole process took me a while as I don't have as much time to dedicate to HC right now. So I additionally appreciate that the retiring moderators continued with their duties for around 2 months extra after giving their notice. Thanks for your patience, guys
EDIT: Oh, and I see we have a little glitch - a moderator who has an HC Supporter badge because he was one at the time of the appointment

Glad to have been of service. I did not plan on leaving the squad but life had different plans for me.. It is kind of comforting that we exit as a team with Alci and Doomforge, I have good memories of the H5 times when we first met. Cheers guys. And good luck to the new mods!

Well, it will expire and disappear naturally a year from when you last renewed it, and as a moderator you won't be able to renew it
