Given? I'd never give a poop. Especially not to you. I tried it last time, and it didn't work out well... It didn't work out at all actually...

Also, Valeryi() should consider bashing badging every ex-mod. That way we get nostalgia and so that new guys know what they're dealing with(hidden meaning here). Hold on I forgot something...

Even though it doesn't look like it, I didn't do it to boost my ego. I was trying to clarify. I have to admit, everytime I hear penalty spree tradition or something like that it gets on my nerves. Also, good thing you did, because respect is something you earn with hardwork, not with HCMs. And trust me, one day I will have it. When I say something is gonna happen, it will happen. If I say I'm dead, then f***ing dead I am! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but as soon as the event is opportune...

Also, know this: I might have disrespected many people, and did many wrong things, but I don't regret anything. If I was embarrassed of who I am, then that wouldn't be me, it would just be another mask. Yeah there is a secret meaning here too, but not something you see with the first time of reading.

Also there was a reference... Got it, anyone?

Also, disrespectful and immature... That's part of my personality. Also, if you think in a linear way, you are prone to misunderstanding me.

Private messages are exactly that: PRIVATE. They have no purpose of ever being in the public and by doing what you did, you not only betrayed the trust of Valeriy, but who is now going to want to pm you as they might think you're going to post it for the public to see. Regardless of whether or not they contain secrets or if it's just meaningless chat, that is beside the point.

You have asked for help a few times and I tried to make you see perspective. I was never the greatest member and as you can see from my profile, I've had my fair share of penalties in the past. Did I learn from it? Bloody oath I did and now I try to write constructive things so that if I ever were to leave this place, people might remember me as a valuable member of this community and a bloke who wrote some pretty interesting and good things that actually contributed to this forum.

The way you have gone about things is blatant disrespect towards Valeriy. I wouldn't have been surprised at all if they had of penalised you for doing that as it's a breach of rules so consider yourself extremely lucky. The best thing you can do from here is to do what Val said. Put thoughts into your posts instead of just posting for the sake of posting. You said that you will get respect here one day. Well there's no time like the present. Start now and eventually people will forget about your previous misdemeanours and actually start appreciating your posts a hell of a lot more. Trust me on this, if you ask most of the veteran members here and ask them to tell you about me as an early poster, they'd say I was an idiot and very lucky not to get banned. You ask them how I got a bit further into the future, a few years after I joined, and they'd say a completely different story. It does take time but you'll get there IF you put the hard yards in and actually start to make an effort.

You deserve a slow clap, apart from some flaws that I see... Of course what I'm saying here is a matter of perspective but...

Point number 1: What you said is ultimately true, I did betray Valeriy's trust, but, I don't really care about that, because it's not the trust I earned with blood and tears, it's the trust he gave me, and it wouldn't have lasted long anyways. You see, my problem is that I'm immature, so when I left, I was also trying to get mature, and when or if I could, I would get back here...

Before we get to the next point, I want to try and be honest, so here, I don't want you to blame me, but instead give me constructive criticism... I hate the so-called "Penalty Spree Tradition", I was willing to sacrifice basically anything to erase it off the face of this community... It's like a trigger, I see it, my brain goes to "Kill everything in sight mode"(Well, not really, but part of being honest is telling something as you see it, or so I think... If wrong that could be correct so whatever). The reason being, none told me it was a joke in the first place... It was humiliation.

Also, yes, I did quote Valeriy and did my post without thinking, just being honest and accepting the fact that I did wrong. The reason is right above... But now, let's talk about why I behave the way I do...

None in the community(or almost none) was willing to respect me, so I wasn't willing to waste my time or thought or even words for it. I TRIED to be thoughtful, more than a few times, and to be frank(which I'm trying to do), I got sick of it. My idea of respect is mutual respect and nothing else, and you guys(that's right, YOU, which is part of being honest here, telling my thoughts, don't like it, screw off) are just making fun of me. I'm like national laughing stock here. And it's with you guys, ONLY you. In another community, I'm more than just helpful, I'm great, something I can't even dream of anymore in here.

Now let's talk about hostility, why am I hostile? Why do I speak so... barbarically to certain people? I never took to being made fun of kindly, this includes real life, internet, whatever, everything. So I talk the way I do, no regrets. I don't see a friend in someone that mocks me, actually, they become my enemy. This is part of my personality. My mind eye sees some of you as pieces of ****, and I can't blame it, but I CAN blame you. I shouldn't, but I CAN. And seeing as that's one of the only things that wouldn't waste much of my time, I do. Honesty again, I hate this community and everything that goes on it. I did like it before I joined and even one year ago, but not now. This is Heroes Community, and you guys focus much more on what we are different on, rather than what do we have in common. This one of the flaws of basically all(or if you like, almost all) human beings.

The way I see it, you don't even try to respect me. As I said that's my perspective, and yes, it's ****ed up and all of that, but again, I'm just being honest, and I know that I can't clarify enough. You don't understand me, which is why I'm making this whole long post in the first place. I'm trying to get you to do that. Because (if you will, the way I see it), you are always misunderstanding me.

Also, you said that I'm not making any efforts in being a calm, respectable, and the way I see it, ideal averege guy type of person, but you are also not making any efforts in ignoring how I'm different. And I couldn't blame you here, we are human beings, after all. You see, for us humans, it's in our blood. We don't normally try to see what we have in common. Why do you think all these wars broke out? Or why do you think racism, sexism, feminism, etc exists? We are naturally on one side. To be in balance, you have to be neutral. You can at least try to be NEAR the balance, by being from one side and trying to understand the other. Again, this is all, all of this, the way I see it. I will actually listen to what you think and what you will say and possibly your advice, I will try to act like a self-learning bot.

The way I see it, you guys sometimes make it kind of personal. And mostly when it's personal for me, that includes many emotions...

...

Also, everyone has his weaknesses, mine are being thoughtful like this... It... It feels boring! I can't bear to do it for more than a specific amount of time! Yes, this is all I can say in public about my perspective, now what do you guys have to say? I spilled my ****ing guts to you know, so don't give me any of the usual **** you do.

**** Open for discussion ****

EDIT: And yes, I guarrantee it, I did read through this.

No one gets respect right from the get-go. It's neutral at best, for everyone. No one knows you, so what kind of a person are you? Establishing a reputation is something that happens over time, it's not there from day 1. Like with many other aspects in life, it takes a while for a positive reputation to build up and earn respect. The contrary isn't true, however: losing respect can happen faster than the blink of an eye. There's a saying about that: "Respect comes on foot and leaves on horseback", or in other words, it comes slowly, but it is broken down fast when tarnished. Compare it to climbing a mountain and tumbling down: going up takes a whole lot more effort and time than going down.

Several of your initial posts have been of the latter category, unfortunately. So if what you say is true, it seems you're disappointed at how fast you gained respect - at least, not as fast as you had hoped and expected. And in reaction, you lit the fire and burned it all down. Quite frankly, I find it rather audacious to blame us for not respecting you after burning your own reputation to the ground.

And this is a personal flaw on your side, I'm afraid. Nothing we can do. Are you having some form of autism perhaps? One of my colleagues pretty much has the same attitude, not taking kindly to jests on his account by strangers; he can get very hostile about that too and tends to see things in black and white. An attitude like that, however, is rather in the form of "live and let die", instead of "live and let live". It's about having some thick skin, where such remarks bounce off instead of penetrating and actually hitting you.

It's actually common for people to take friendly jabs at one another; it explores personal boundaries and can even lay the foundation for a bond between two people, when their sense of humor matches. It's a friendly way of judging the other party. Hostility is usually not expected in reply to such jabs, as they're almost always in jest and not to mock or belittle someone in earnest.

I know that respect is something you can't get easily. Also, I'm a bit like your buddy, but not to the point where I see things in blank and white... It happened to me one day... I almost smashed the dude's head, he was quite lucky actually... And nah don't worry about it, he's a piece of crap, everyone hates him, he thinks he's some gangster... Anyways it's not impossible to fix a personal flaw... But it requires the right guidance... No idea where to get that in this screwed up world.

Beating up someone and calling him a piece of crap makes it hard for someone to respect you. Also losing the respect of someone that freely gives it is just bad and no amount of justification can change that.

I'm all for honesty and speaking one's mind but this is tactless and inconsiderate. Think, let the emotions cool down, consider where the other is coming from and then post. This is a forum, you can afford to bide your time and make a more thoughtful response.

Just some food for thought.

Well I don't blame you, you didn't see him yourself

But hey, that's EXACTLY the point. That is what I'm trying to do. Also, blaming me won't solve anything. I was like:

1st post: OK I get it.
2nd post. Yeah yeah yeah, I get it.
3nd post: I KNOW!

The only thing you say when you try to make me a better poster, is to be more thoughtful when I post... Ever considered how? Pretend that you are dealing with, say, an idiot, a stupid little kid. He can't be more thoughtful when he posts, and he needs explicit instructions. If you don't like my past example, pretend that you are trying to program, the computer is stupid and needs EXACT instructions that he will follow them even if they are wrong.

Well, with me you've had the benefit that I haven't read many of your posts on the forums. I'm speaking of the reckless posts which influenced other members' opinion of you. So after you've made a thoughtful effort and influenced a change that you wanted, what are your actions? Recklessly waving a private message in front of people's faces in public to prove how victorious you are over them.

I think that people are ultimately judged by others based on their actions. One can talk at length about intentions, but does it matter at all if he doesn't change his actions? If you keep acting recklessly, no matter what you say about your intentions, your actual intention is not to change your reckless behaviour.

What happened here is that I've shown you respect based on your thoughtful messages to me. You've destroyed that respect and then said that this respect wasn't worth much to you anyway. It is worth considering how anyone who is watching this will feel about the possibility of respecting you. They will probably be worried that if they give you their respect you won't value it and will trash it too.

Based on your actions here my impression is that you want attention and that you use the quickest route to get it - by getting negative attention. You pretend to want to be a better poster while continuing to act recklessly. Some people genuinely give you helpful advice but you ignore it because getting any attention quickly is more important to you than learning to get positive attention slowly. This strategy will soon stop working. People will see that trying to help you is pointless and will eventually start to ignore you. You will end up as a scapegoat for negativity.

People on HC are not perfect, just like in life. Not 100% of the negativity you received is a valid response to your actions. Unfortunately, some people enjoy putting others down sometimes to feel better about themselves. It is their personal problems. But many are not like that. Sometimes it is best to ignore the few negative ones and not give them the fuel and to focus on the positive connections.

There were multiple people in the history of HC who started off acting immaturely and recklessly, and then managed to change their behaviour and even their reputation. It is not easy, but my impression is that together with this they've developed much greater strength of character and this even changed their life.

My final suggestion is for you to stop trying to justify your actions here and take a break from HC. Think about actions and respect, observe this dynamic in life. Notice the difference between reacting and choosing your response, and what effects this has. Notice when you blame your reactions on other people and notice what it feels like to instead take responsibility for how you respond.

If you don't take this advice I don't think there is any point in giving you more. All the best.

Actually no, it's better this way, I've been itching to do experiments on a human being with a reactionary personality, we'll just have to restrain him. Teheehe!

Besides I think the approach is all wrong, Herry isn't acting out of character at all, you all decided to assume that this boy is a mature adult and thinks like one, or that he will react to teasing in an aggravated but rational manner. He did not, and now that it failed you continue to berate the poor guy just as you have done with previous members who have acted in an almost identical manner till they leave after a lot of drama.

The Mod Squad undergoes a significant transition today. Three of our esteemed active moderators return their mod swords to become normal members again as three new recruits join the Mod Squad. It was an unusual situation that three moderators, two of whom look after many forums, happened to feel like refocusing their energy onto other things at around the same time. Because of this we've all got together in the HQ, discussed which members have suitable character and approached the chosen candidates directly to offer them a position in the Mod Squad. Today I also retrieve the mod swords from two moderators who haven't been with us in a while. So let's say our thanks to those who served the community and welcome the new peacekeepers.

Alcibiades +
For the last 8-9 years Alcibiades has been the prominent active moderator looking after our latest Heroes forums - Altar of Wishes and Heroes 5, then Heroes 6 and Heroes 7 as they came along. He also looked after our Heroes 4 board. Thank you Alci for doing an exemplary job in shaping the modern part of our community over the last several years Your dedication and thoroughness is much appreciated and leaves a solid legacy for the new recruits to follow.

Elvin +
Elvin has been a moderator for over 8 years, starting with the Heroes 5 forum, soon joining in VW and over the years lending a helping hand in a whole bunch of other forums - Heroes 6, Heroes 7, Altar of Wishes, Tavern and TOH. I really appreciate Elvin's watchful oversight over most of HC, as well as involvement in the development of Heroes 6 and 7 and facilitating collaboration between our community and the game developers. The most admirable thing is how he was able to be so comprehensively involved despite also having a lot to take care of in his life. Speaking of comprehensive involvement, Elvin is 2.5% of HC in terms of the number of his posts! That's almost as much as our second and third most active posters combined. Which brings me to the real reason Elvin stepped down - to be the first person ever in the history of HC to claim the 8 yellow star rank I'm joking about this being the reason of course, but the new title certainly reminds me of Elvin's moderating style Elvin is stepping down from modship to refocus his energies onto other endeavors and will continue to be with us as a member. Big thanks for your significant contribution to the Heroes Community which I'm sure will continue in other ways

Doomforge +
Doomforge has been with the Squad for about 4.5 years, moderating the Other Games and helping in the Heroes 6 forum. Your active involvement in keeping your parts of HC orderly and peaceful is much appreciated

Mytical +
Much appreciation goes out to Mytical for close to five years of active service as the moderator of the Glade and four years of moderating in Taven, OSM and Coliseum Mytical has been a good moderator and a very active member with a passion for roleplaying (Mytical made around 1% of HC's posts and threads!) Before we lost contact back in 2013 Mytical was battling with serious health issues. Due to his dedicated character and the fact that we haven't heard from him in over 2 years unfortunately our guesses are that he didn't make it through, otherwise he would still be here with us... We send out our appreciation for his service and positive wishes to wherever he may be.

Shyranis +
Thanks to Shyranis for serving as a moderator in the Taven for a few years. Her disapearance is likely due to the time it takes to be a mother of a few children.

And now time for the new appointments. We have three new recruits taking up the mod swords and giving away their stars to join the Mod Squad and uphold order and peace in the Heroes Community:

kiryu133 will be looking after the Altar of Wishes, Heroes 4 and Heroes 5 forums.

Maurice will be looking after the Heroes 6 and Heroes 7 forums.

Brukernavn will be looking after the Heroes 7 forum.

Welcome to the team! Head over to the Mod Squad HQ for your induction and a complimentary plate of our special donuts

A position in Other Games forum is open for someone who is very passionate about that forum. In the meantime OmegaDestroyer steps in to look after the Other Games and the AOH Coliseum.
