Good.

Great ideas you all! I am almost sure or at leats hope very much that the Viking-Polaris Ice Castle will be included and the wolves and troll will be in it instead of the Barbarians and all other barbarians will be neutral creatures, and I also hope that the Egyptian casle will be included as the new sand town, and of course the 4-in-1 Conflux and the Astral town.
Also I have a suggestion for azure dragons: The best choice is that they will cost mercury but they can also cost Crystal, but mercury is the best, anyway, i'd like to suggest a special ability for the azure dragon: 20% to freeze enemy stack (guess what it does), also I think the fear thingy should be cancelled because its not the super monster any more but just the strongest unit in the game (Dragons ruled, rule and will rule!!!).

Looks...

Hey! I've came up with an idea about the looks of the ice castle: The tower town was a snow town but it looked like snow in daylight and that is not so nice, but I can even now imagine the Ice Castle with different look: Night, the sky is black and there is a big moon and stars on it, the ice blocks and snow shine with a bluish light that is coming from the moon, and now think, what looks better, the Tower town look, or my Ice Castle look.

good ideas here but i think theres not enough creatures as i would get rid of penguins for sure! Id hate to see penguins fighting devils or angels. No matter how many how many there are i dont think they could peck em to death.

A few more ideas

Valhalla
Magic Hero : Wolf Shaman
Might Hero : Berzerker
Grail: Polaris, the North Star (combined with the night-appearance idea)
Gives all might heroes +5 attack power? Gives all heros +50% daily movement? Gives defending hero's army +2 battle speed? There are a lot of possibilities that 3do hasn't explored for Grail structures yet. (Side Note: I loved the Aurora Borealis from the Conflux. Unfortunately, it's a bit too wonderful.)

Units
Frozen Forest: Wolf -> Warg/Arctic Wolf
Longhouse: Viking Raider -> Viking Axeman
Timber Yard: Northern Catapult -> Ice Catapult (ranged attack, can attack walls)
Snow Field: Snow Man -> Yeti (ranged attack)
Glacier: Ice Serpent -> Polar Wurm
Ice Cave: Behemoths -> Ancient Behemoths (same abilities but lower stats)
Frozen Cliffs: Blue Dragon -> Azure Dragon (flying)


I like the idea of dropping the Stronghold that someone suggested; it strikes me as one of the least interesting towns. The only creatures really worth trying to save are the Behemoths and the Thunderbirds (although all of the others could well be wandering creatures). My proposal is to re-ally (it was done in the H2-H3 change with Phoenixes, Green Drags, Gargoyles...) the Behemoths; I can easily see Behemoths--especially Ancients--in an ice setting.

Despite droping Azure Dragons to lvl 7, I like the idea of Superdrags. I think that Azures could easily be replaced by Greater or Ancient Dragons; the abilities and stats could stay exactly the same. I also liked the idea of having a Silver Dragon... possibly a lvl 8 creature.

Finally, you'll notice that these suggestions allow for only one flyer and two ranged attackers. Strongholds have the same set-up, but they make up for it with the wall-attacking ability of Cyclopses. I suggest that this ability be available at a lower level (3rd instead of 6th). I'd recommend that the lvl 1 creatures be rather decent (average hit points but with a double attack for the upgraded version), although with low defense. The lvl 2-4 creatures should be fairly weak. The 5th-7th should be on the very solid side, with Wurms concentrating on defense, Behemoths on offensive, and Azure Dragons being balanced with Gold and Black Dragons. I'd suggest that the Wurms have the Freezing ability (equivalent of Blinding/Petrification from Unis/Medusae) that someone else suggested for Azure Dragons. Hopefully, this combination of special abilities will make the city more interesting to play than the Stronghold.

Well...
These are good ideas, but I, personally dont like to see the stronghold vanquished. Stronghold is the most simple playing town than any other. It has one of the ancient heroes now, Crag Hack, which of course is good to see in heroes4. Behemoths are ancient creatures too, which shouldn't be lowered to 6th lever creatures. It would be boring to have (almost) all the 7th level creatures dragons.
I like the idea of polaris town, but dont like to mix it with barbarians.
A mixture of polaris with vikings is good, and of course viking is not a barbarian.
Just my opinion...

I agree with razor!

Stronghold MUST stay!. It is totally in the spirit of might and magic with it's massive attack skills. The only things i would change are wolf riders and hall of valhalla. Viking/Ice town can have them but everything else should be kept with stronghold!

But think about it, thats the whole point of barbarians, all over the history they were WANDERING armies, they should be neutral and never join hero because they were savage.

Ok I came up with a grail structure. I think it should be Valhalla. If it will be the temple structure then it could be ... I can't think of anything. Still barbarians should not be vanquished! They have been here since Homm I. Why take them out now?

I DEFINITELY like to see Stronghold be kept. It is one of the symbol of Heroes of MIGHT and magic.  

This town is simple but by no means boring. ( sorry, I don't see the points of those who says that Stronghold is boring. If it is boring, how about Fortress? ).

The barbarians are salvage but they can still be led by someone who is charismatic and share the same interest (conquering and conquering and conquering) with them. BTW, if devil, demon, bones and those beasts can be led, why not barbarians ?

I like the idea of the ice castle. As for the grail structure, maybe it can be a Nothern Star (or something like that). Since people ususally use the norternmost star to identify the direction at night and so maybe this grail structure may allow all the heroes to have extra movement points both at land and sea.

Ok, let the Stronghold stay, but they should get some new units as we took the wolves and trolls away.
BTW: I suggest to use this Ice Castle idea:

Conflux.

The conflux will be split into 4 towns and I dont see a place for the Aurora Brealis in neither one of the Water, Air, Earth and Fire towns.

I don't see a point of spliting the conflux town. They should keep it as it is. Then if they will do it so I guess that the aurora borelais could be the grail.

There is no need to split the Conflux town, you just have to choose in wich element the conflux is based in the begining of the game, or during the game in the early stages...

Changes to all Towns

I personally think all towns should be altered, although some towns should keep their themes and some of the major creatures...like they did from 2 to 3.

So keep elves and pegasi, etc from rampart but maybe get rid of dwarves and add something else.  Same for each town.  Then add some new towns as well.  I want a new game...I'm sure 3do can come up something along these lines without ruining the general town structure idea.

Disagree.

I think that there shouldn't be a "town makeover" in H4 just like they did in H3. I think that H4 should be for H3 like H2 was for H1, some all around improvements and gameplay changes but the towns remained basically the same, but in H3 there was a total town makeover, and I would like that in H4 there wouldn't be such a drastic makeover, but just some little changes in the castles, like the barbarian castle which got robbed of some of its units like the Troll and the wolf, and its grail, the Vallhala.
