The way I saw it when I started the thread, the rules for a competition could be anything from size, theme to colors used.
Also, me and IYY planned that one of the first competitions would be drawing a Guild emblem for members to put in their sigs

Guild Of Pixelartist's First Pixel Competition
Rules:
geneal ~G~ rules
G1.) The submited picture must be Pixelart under GoP's understandment of it. Thus, being fuly made in MS Paint.
G2.) Only one picture for every member, unless the special ~S~ rules say something different.
G3.) The competition lasts untill every member (who hasn't unsubscribed for this competition) has posted a pic.
G4.) Once posted, a pic may not be edited further. I.e. Be sure that your pic is finished before you post it!
G5.) If a picture doesn't fit the restrictions, the artist will be informed and given a chance to edit it, so that it fits. If it still doesn't fit, it won't be rated for this competition.
G6.) Every member will give a vote for the best pic when all pics have been posted.
special ~S~ rules
S1.) For this first competition, the content shall be set: "Make a Guildsemblem for the GoP!".
S2.) The second restriction shall be the size: 40x40 pixels
winning conditions:
The winner will get 15 exp, the second 10 and the 3rd placed 5. Also, the winning Emblem will be available for our artists to put into their sig. 
rating guidlines will be:
R1.) The skill of the artist
R2.) The content of the pic
note: It will give you no advantage, if you are the first who finishes. Better invest some more time to make a longer taking but better designed pic!

Well, now that Woock made the firts step, I will follow and hopefully the rest, too

PS: I forgot one thing in the rules: the exp! (I will add it above and post it here)
As described in Woocks first post, every Pixelartist can get experience-points due to his art. Those can be gotten e.g. wit copetitions SO in this comp, the winner will get 15 exp, the second 10 and the 3rd placed 5. Also, the winning Emblem will be available for our artists to put into their sig.
When you reach a new lvl, u might want to add this to ur sig/customstatus
The four lvls are this:

1. initiate pixelartist 0-50
2. apprentice pixelartist 51-150
3. adept pixelartist 151-450
4. expert pixelartist 451+

heres mine, i was a bit pressed for ideas but i dont think ill have time later
edit:btw, i think that to achieve even initiate you would have to win a looooooot of competitions, maybe the prizes should be boosted up a little? just a thought. i look forward to the other entries!

There is a something, but I have an objection against this competition. We should ONLY use paint, not some other things as well, like photo shop or something. As Daddy said, Being fully made in MS paint

AMtwis has a point.
What I find uncool is the use of the text tool, which can be seen in Daddy's and Alloy's submissions. This doesn't directly violate any rules set for this competition though.
Also, I would like to know how Daddy made the "bright inside, dark around" thingy in his submission. At first it looks like a gradient - feature unavailable in Paint. Having zoomed up on the picture though, I doubt a gradient was used, and I think it's either a light source effect or dodge tool, both unavailable in Paint. Care to explain?
I hope nobody thinks I'm just being a partypooper here.

@ Woock: Well, it was pure work I used one color and made it lighter and added another ring, made it lighter again, and so on - so no "tools", just the color-edit function used
What I used on tzhis little Mink-pic, too btw
