Yes I love the Castle and it is my favorite still but it seems when I first played the game that's all I ever played as and I just got sick of it after awhile.
I have recently experienced the awesomeness of Tazar and the Fortress (thanks to the Heroes Community)

Fortress is still the town i like best. 2nd will be Stronghold, 3rd Castle.

Dungeon with 3 flyer, 2 ranged attacker, and the dangerous minotaur. also the manna vortex and artifact merchants.

My favorites would have to be the Dungeon and Inferno towns, though I would choose Inferno over Dungeon. I love the Efreet's and Devils.

This poll is biased (but I understand due to the max poll options).
I'm a Dungeons fan ever since I first played Heroes II. I guess I'm afraid of change but it seems that I've always been happy with Dungeon

I've always loved tower, even though IMO it's probably the second weakest town (placed just in front of inferno)...
Recently, I've been playing around with fortress... eg. confusing the AI  ... use 20 lizardmen and 30 gnolls to take down a hydra pond week 1 without any spells  ... it's at these times that you realise that fortress is even better than what you thought it was before...

most of the fortress units were upped in the later patches so that probably made them a lot better

Lizardman HP increased 2, damage increased 1
Lizard Warrier HP +3, att +1, def +1, damage +1, cost +10
Serpent fly att +1, def +1.
Dragon fly att +2, def +2.
I compared the creatures from homm Complete with the original ROE manual (assuming the manual was correct). I didn't check any other creatures.

Yea i think it was the lizards and flies. The upgrade really made a difference though.

OK...then it's 2 out of 7...i was a bit irritated by the word "most units".

I always have to smile a bit when someone says Stronghold is weak. You really should try to get some online games with human opponents going and check out how strong (and even more important, how FAST) Stronghold can be.
Just to give an example: I started a 2vs2 on Jebus L (130%) yesterday, where i had Stronghold and Gurnisson. He was Level 11 on week 1 day 4.
You have a balista, 3 rocs and 1 behemot day 2. Powerull forces.....

Yes early on Stronghold are good but after week 4 they are week beacause some of their stacks: goblins - week, wolfrider have low hp, orcs sucks, Orges are fine,Rocks - good unit but again die too easy, cyclops - hard to build them and week 6 lvl in my opinion, Ofcourse Bahas are the best lvl 7. Compared to other factions(Rampart,Castle,Necro,Dungeon) they are weeker in units.
This is just racial compare. in multi hero is the most important and this disadvantages can be handled.
