Preview Posts

Here's an idea I've been juggling for a while now but have just now been at the right place to post as I remembered it.

When posting on this site, I sometimes wish that there were a button to preview what my post would look like on the actual webpage, BBcode intact and all. I've seen this done on other forums, and I use it often on those boards, but understand if it is too cumbersome for the site or has already been brought up and rejected before for some reason or another. I do think that it would help a great deal in image and link posting and general coding success for those who might be new to bbcode, and also may assist in catching general mistakes that you would probably not notice without the preview option. It may also help those who need to wait to edit their posts gain some leverage so that they won't need to edit at all.

I say we give this to 5 star members. People would definitely want to get this. Including Lazy old Shadowcaster who's been at 4 stars for an eternity.

Naw jk Shadow, it's really because the new mods in Glade don't know how to click the give QP button.

I vote for having a preview post button. I do think that it's going to be most used in the Glade and in the other side, though.

Yeah, that would be very usefull, especially when you still have flood protewct (like most users, including me^^) - when u want to post a pic or an url and it u misspelled sth, waiting 90secs is annoying^^

I'd have to agree.... (although I don't understand the point of leaving it to 5 star members)
For someone computer inept like me, the chance to experiment with things before sending would be appreciated....  (God knows that there is always quick to post when you've made a mistake and are trying to edit... especially if waiting for flood protect!!! )
.....  speaking of flood protect; why is this feature on "edit"... shouldn't someone who is trying to edit have the chance as quickly as possible???)

Can we add a spell check to this.....  we could cut down on flamming if people had the chance to correct their mistakes before posting..

Well, I guess (and hope! ) the 5 star-thing was a joke, by RSF here^^

@ floodprotect:
Well, actually, FP for edit is supposed to vanish, if you have 3 reds [I wonder, why editing is floodprotected at all] - but that somehow doesn't work - I still have FP when I want to edit a post, I just posted. After editing there is no FP, and there never was.

After the first edit, you no longer need to wait to re-edit, should you need to do so, no matter your red star level.

Ah ok thanks.....
Hopefully after I edit once I don't need to do it again....

therefor we agree that a "post preview" would help, and so would removing flood protect on editing??
