I don't have an idea when it would be done, when I'll found some time maybe demo will be released, most propably after end of this month.

Well it is not so simple - for example I dont know how to convert make shooting unit to not-shooting one. Can it be done by some ERM thing?

Yes, and you can alternatively just set 0 ammo in crtraits.txt.

all but one map for the campaign was finished...
S**T! >_< almost every day i read this...i mean..why did they have to change the town? or why isn't available for the ones who like this town? Forge town is made by NWC or 3DO?

NWC was the group of the authors - the so called 'developer'. Sth like Nival is now for H5.
3DO was the publisher, the owner of the copyrights and the one with the money . Sort of like Ubisoft now.
The authors of the original Forge were all from NWC, but were employed by 3DO (like all of the NWC after the takeover). 3DO decided about the main things about the game (like release dates, the budget, the number of expansion packs, things like "turned-based or real-time?", etc.) and NWC made the game itself.
As far as I know, the decision about pulling out the Forge was made by NWC, however 3DO also received complaints from fans, so they may have pushed NWC in some way...

Well, the main controversy had something to do with laser gun goblins and naga tanks.
It was adding an element of the game that noone really wanted in it. The futuristic theme would have ruined Homm Imo. It was dragging a lot of unwanted values into the game, I think it would be best to leave the project unfinished
