Who's Who
I think we need to have a thread to introduce newbies to the history and characters of HC. These days, it's not even newbies who are ignorant of the rich history of this site but also some members who have been here for ages. Brief one-two line descriptions of all members and major events of HC would go in this thread. (Actually, I think this may have been proposed already, maybe even by me, but since I don't remember for sure, let's start over.)
Of course, I'm lazy (and have an exam tomorrow, wish me luck) and am not gonna finish (or even finish starting) this thread.
The List Itself
Dingo - self-proclaimed God of Dark Spam, the most enthusiastic poster on the Vulcanic Wastelands.
Pandora - moderator, one of the more popular upholders of the CoC.
Lord Woock - current owner of the highest post count, Queen fanatic.
RMS - ex-moderator with a cheese fetish, administrator of Guardian's Grove. Used to change his avatar up to several times a week. Created the HC chatroom #homm on NetGamers.
Incubus/Wesley - HC's only member to be banned twice. Hater of Tolkien and other males.
Celfious - The Confusing One.
Sir Elric - Creator of several hilarious gif animations portraying the life of HC as a community.
Feel free to add. But you can't add yourself, must make the description brief, and must only post important members that newbies throughout the ages would need to know in order to be educated in the history of HC.

You mean the member spotlight? Well, no newbie will go about reading that. This can allow people to quickly get to know all the truly important members that made HC what it is today.

Dear Morons - a troll who did his best to cause havoc in HC, and once managed to obtain a moderator's password.
Cat - managed to mix playfulness and sex appeal with elegance and wit.
OldTimer - creator of many informative HOMM threads as well as humorous classics such as Naked Girls, Cat Takes a Bath and the first ever "Please no one open or view this thread" thread.

dear morons might have been a annoying member, but i dont see how getting a mods password is his wrong doing.
Id rather see it as a good move to point out a serious security breach.
Furthermore about dear morons... he did attract negative publicity but i really wonder if he had gotten the boot even if he hadnt got that password. I doubt it. He was bad but not THAT bad IMO.
He was provocative rather than insulting usually.
Though i guess its a part of the HC policy, once youve gotten a bad reputation with certain people (read: some of the main mod members) you get penalties for the most ridicioulus things in a boring attempt to get you banned.
Which keeps me wondering btw why that destiny havent gotten me

oh and btw, to explain my last posts relevance:
This thread seems to be about explaining who you are but when someone gets a bad view i think its important to have others to counter those views aswell if they aint shared or just partly shared. Especially when they are not here to defend themself.
Though i wont do it the other way around as me commenting on say a couple of the mods would rather lead to another boring bash fest rather than keeping the thread on topic
oh and one more thing, how bored must you be to give judgement on yourself? Isnt the point about having others tell their views rather than your, as in some cases seen here rather..well not even rather.. its just a big flattery of yourself

All I said was that he was a troll trying to cause havoc, which he was and did. Didn't say that obtaining the password was his fault, but I did mention it because it's an important part of HC history.

If that was true then you would have been banned long ago.

How about mods treat every member in the same manner?
Do that and there will be nothing to complain about about you mods concerning favoritism. Credit goes where credit is deserved, it has gotten alot better... that i gotta say but there are still plenty of room for improvement.
Problem is you cant adress a moderator personally with that issue, because then you are labeled a problemmaker.
Which removes one of the most vital improvements elements here, critism for improvement.
Problem with many mods here is once they have gotten their modsword they concider themselves the all knowing, any critism is undeserved because they in their opinion makes a great job.
And im sure many of you do behind the scenes aswell, but we dont see that. And then therefor we cant compliment that rather then seeing that the page is runnings smoothly as it usually is. But that we take for granted (yes, we are spoiled bastards ) as we have gotten used to it. But then rather than having us saying good job.. take credit for it as you that it deserved, just as some critism is,
What we see first hand is usually member treatment. And even if you make an outstanding job keeping the place up you will recieve critism if your member handling skills leaves alot to be deserved.
But when critism about this arises it seems as just stated that because of the other job thats handled well.. you cant get critised for something else.
Which obviously means that you cant improve if you dont see what to improve in.
Like this post now, i can almost guarantee you that most the mods thats reading it have written it off already as "the regular Stiven complaint" rather than concidering if it actually has a point at some level.
Oh and btw, i have heard from hmm "insightful sources" plenty of times that there has been talk about me getting banned so obviously i couldnt have been that for away and now ive gotten the HC kiss of death aswell - the penalty for miscensoring a word...

sorry for the off topic post, but i thought id respond to the post directed to me.
Oh and as for the "credit..." talk, of the mods i dealt with in mods issues (not WOG, mightytoss, DS etc) id say that nidhgrin, djive and to an extent also khaelo deals with critism in a creative manner and should be credited for that.
