Homm1 + Win 2000?
Is it possible to run Homm1 on Windows 2000? It says illegal operation, terminated.

I can play it... but for a few minutes and without sound , because is freezing all the time... sorry I don't really know if is possible

You can get Windows XP, it has no problems running old Win 98 games (just make sure to turn on "Windows 98" compatiblity option in the shortcut's preferences)
Also, if you have a very fast CPU, you can try running it in Dosbox emulator, I use it to run old games like Master of Magic, King's Bounty (the homm-series predecessor), etc.

I have tried looking for a patch online, but there doesnt seem to be any, every time i start it it sys 'Heroes1 has performed an illegal operation' It always pops up.
I use Win2000.

abandonia.com has both the windows and Dos versions of the game available to download. see whichever one works on your comp.
