Lords Of Magic
I like this game. It's almost like Heroes, but has many different elements that make it unique. Combat, for instance, is in real time. The rest of the game is turn-based, though. There are these different faiths you can play as, complete with their unique champions (hero equivalents) and creatures. There's even diplomatic relations.
Water vs. Fire
Air vs. Earth
Order vs. Chaos
Life vs. Death
Look familiar? If anyone has played this, we can chat about it.

My friend has a similar versioin of that game......or that game  Funny thing is he's also my roomate since I moved out of my old place. I tried it once, indeed, very fun game To bad I got my *bleep* kicked alot though.....

i had this game ages ago when i was like 7, i think before heroes. i only had the demo but i remember it being great. i recently got the demo again and its good but many things i dont understand since its a demo after all. its an old game so i havent been able to get my hands on the complete version since i dont think it would still be in stores.
i liked the demo. seemed very much like heroes. the turn based combat was great since it differed from heroes in some way. i havent been able to experience spells and such but man would i like the real thing

Anyone have a favorite Faith they'd play regularly? Mine is Water, because their troops are strong and durable, and their capital is in a defensible position on the adventure map.

Well I have the full cd version of the game and it is different from the one you get from underdogs. For one thing it's is much harder and some of the huts and things have multiple levels to go through. It's annoying to play any but life becuase they have the longest range archers and everyone else gets there buts kicked most of the time.
I find that one of the hardest things in the game is to get your great temple free. I mean that is basically the most important thing because you can't do much without it. I mean until then you have to rely on Mercenaries and they are very expensive to maintain and you don't want to waste time leveling them up when you just have to dissmiss them later. Typically with the Life alignment I can free my temple by day 7 and so get my first influx of troops right away.

True. Liberating your Great Temple can be very difficult, especially on Medium and Hard levels. I cannot better emphasize the importance of the 'Parry' action to keep your melee guys alive. Of course, I hadn't learned how to use Parry until many months after I started the game.
The Chaos Warrior game starts out with the Lord and three Raiders on the Easy level. I think that's junk. You really need shooters, and good ones. Chaos Stickthrowers are pretty mediocre.

There should be some custom maps, but I think the standard map is the best and most balanced. I play that one all the time.
If we do compete, I guess we'd have to make it whoever-beats-the-game-first-wins.
By the way, is yours the Special Edition version? It has a bunch of useful features that really trounce the original.

yep just 7 days. 2morow is friday but im not gonna go to school, then sat and sun. just 4 real days to wait since holidays fly by. those 4 days will go quick cause its the last week of school and teachers just dont care then its just reports,reports,reports.
but still i cant wait
