my take on it was that yes, it was a hit like any other. But that doesn't make it right.
I don't think that anyone would pile someone's head onto the ice on purpose, unless that person is just mentally ill.
But the fact remains that he hit the person from behind. Anyone who does that should have a suspension automatically, not just Bertuzzi. And yes, that suspended should of carried over to this year, just like any other suspension that would emanate from cross-checking in the back.
Some guys hit their teeth on the side of the boards because they are being cross-checked from behind!
One last thing: Bertuzzi aimed for Moore, and he also aimed for his head or upper spine. You're hands don't end up that high for no reason.
Should his entire life change because of this, no, not IMO. Should he get suspended, yes, absolutly. Should they all get suspended for cross-checking in the back, yes, most defenatly.

Just to refresh your memory...
it wasn't a cross check, and it wasn't a hit...
Bertuzzi coasted in, grabed Moore's jersey, cold cocked him from behind, then directed his head towards the ice!
THAT was intentional and he's lucky he's even playing today...

The last thing I would want to do would to be to get into a big arguement about something stupid a player did...
I guess I should emphasize what Conan said, because I agree with it completely... I think Bertuzzi definately did deserve a punishment for what he did. You simply should not be allowed to act with such aggression in any sports game, because that's not even what it's about. However, I think all players should get this kind of treatment, because it's only fair.
Also, when I said any sports game, don't hassle me with boxing or something like that, because obviously the idea of the sport is to beat the tar out of your opponent...

well, I watched parts of the game, and with the season openner in TO, I', pretty happy with the new rules and the overall spectacle.
Except the fact that forwards can get right in the net with the goaly and no interference calls will be done. Yesterday, the sens scored while Vermette was there beside Théo and got out of the crease just in time. should of never happened. It's not fair for the goaly.
I also admit the 5-3 was a bit much, but the Habs did great for a long time. The problem for the Habs was when Alfie scored while on penalty killing.
But I do like the game alot more, much more interesting.

I went to the Stars game against the Avalanche on Saturday night. It was a 3-2 loss with tons of penalties. The refs handed Colorado the game by giving them a ridiculous 7-minute powerplay after one of their guys boarded Arnott. His face was cut and covered in blood. Needless to say, a huge brawl took place. How you can call fighting on just one guy when several dropped the gloves is beyond me.

Habs beat boston last night in what looked like a playoff game!! it was sweet!!

yeah they're playing well (when they're playing)
but i can't believe the lack of discipline...
1) why are you hooking AT ALL,
2) why are you hooking high enough that you get your stick in the guys face and cut him!!??
(eh Sourray??? dumba$$!!!)
but they're hot and cold when it comes to their passing..
one night I couldn't believe it was the habs they were passing beautifully, but man they sucked against TO!!

GO HABS!!!
if they can keep beating strong teams, they'll look good in the long run!
Anybody wondering if Ottawa's first loss will cause them to lose momentum and fall into a rut??

problem is...I can't watch the first half due to an appointment!! 
MTL's playing well but they have to cut out all the dumb mistakes (ie Theodore needs to get his act in gear)
but if they beat the majority of the teams, playing Ottawa should be a reality check on how good mtl really is...
(oh and I hate the sens, alfredson, hasek, redden... and others. )

The Red Wings are still playing championship hockey. I hope this isn't just a lucky streak. I really can't get into Hockey though until football season is completely over (after the Superbowl). By then I will have a better idea of how their season will go.

yeah Im in a fantasy hockey pool and a guy wanted to trade yzerman.. of course he was injured but I accepted anyways... the freakin' league had some default option on not allowing the trade! so sure enough, buddy drops him, and I missed him.
every game seems like a playoff game these days...
looks like everyone knows the competition will be tough so they don't want to lose any precious points!

And I picked him up!  But he still isn't playing... he's DTD and not even IR so I can't even put him on IR.
Well, I'm working tonight so yes, I'll be watching the game!

The game is over and Spezza in incredible. Did you guys see the stick handling on that last goal? My god. What a good game! Montréal played well and so did Théo. Stopped 40 shots? Nice.
