hey, what's wrong with cartoonish graphics? I prefer H1 and H2 graphics over the plain "realistic" graphics of h4 and 3d "anime" graphics of h5, not to mention h3 the graphics of which is nothing too special.

Heroes 2: Some heroes 2 units were exelent. this is not one of them.
Heroes 3: Good, but the punching?
Heroes 4: What's with the horns?
Heroes 5: OH YEAH! VERY COOL!

My own take on the second H5 Golem is that it looks a little ridiculous. My opinion is similar to what others have said about it using swords and the like. The way I see it, that's why they didn't make The Hulk wear armor and carry a huge knife to fight with

When I think in Golems what comes to mind is 'The Thing' (from the fantastic 4)... massive raw power.

hmm don't see what the problem with h5 golem....but it does give me the feeling that it regained some of it's long lost dignity...

Yeah they could have gone with a massive metal beast which rips up the battlefield with its fists... that would have been awesome.

of course i voted HoMM5 golems...
a fanboy? au contraire... nostalgic perhaps... those who know of old Sinbad films know what i have in mind... golems and swords work perfectly for me...

Yeah, it does kind of look like the tinman. homm3 golums are wearing armor. golums don't need armor! and the h4 golums look like a living verson of those coffins they'd put mumified pharoes in!?!?! My vote goes to the h5 golum, because golums are made of rock or clay magically animated (although the upgrades look weird, because they're blue-green)

i voted for heores 3 golem.
it may not be so impressive as the heroes 5 golem but it was a very powerful low level creature.
it's high defence stat got me out of trouble several times.i owe them at least one vote.

I think that the HOMM V Golems are overdone. Golems are mindless creations of Wizards, not swordsman. The upgraded golem looks like a bizare mix between a far eastern swordsman (lets say from india) and a djinn (or whatever you spell that word). The good old HOMM II steel golem was decent, but the one I liked most is the HOMM III gold golem because of its Egyptian look (despite the fact Egypt has nothing to do with golems). The HOMM IV golem is fine as well, but I stick with the HOMM III which is, in my opinion, the best HOMM game for now (will wait for HOMM V that is suppose to be based on many of the HOMM III goodies with modern game making tehc)

A golem is not a golem whith swords. This is the only problem whith H5 golems.

I really liked the HOMM2 ones, but mainly because of their sounds mostly.
I think I'll go with the HOMM3 Iron ones. They did look pretty cool IMHO.

agree for most part... I voted H3 golems for the originality and the variety it provides... however I'm starting to like HOMM V a bit more than HOMM III now.... maybe because of the smooth gameflow and wonderful animations, details and graphics (no, not the golems... I like them original )

yeh, but if you look very closely, it looks more like the iron golem is made out of iron plates, he's not actually wearing them 
look at those fists... even gauntlets don't fit THAT tight... and you can see his facial features too =)

Yes hobowu, I agree! you can see that the HOMM III Iron Golem is MADE of iron, and not wearing iron. The other Golems don't wear anything, that's for sure!
And about the sounds, the HOMM II sounds are cool, but so are the HOMM III sound. Just listen to the iron plates of the iron Golem rubbing agains each other when it walks, and the knuckles cracking when they hit an enemy! that's neat!

H3 iron ones.
One thing I don't understand, however.
In heroes IV and V, the golems have some cloth over their groins, henceforth there's something beneath them. Which makes me wonder, why did the wizards make penises for golems anyway?  That's simply weird...

If you look closely at the HOMM III Stone, Gold and Diamond Golems, you will see it has something like a louing cloth on it too. Maybe it is for the "ancient warrior" kind of look... or maybe the wizards, who know anatomy for sure, just wanted to be accurate at making the Golems human like
Any way, the Iron Golems don't have any thing like that on them...
I don't think they should have "clothing" on them. Maybe it is used as uniform (in HOMM V Golem), so each side has it's own color for the cloth, that way you can spot your Golems faster...

I like the one from H2! It sounds cool too!
I may say that H5's is the best, byt i think that golems should have no weapons - especiaaly two of them...
