I'm pretty sure this has no influence. I'm trying to avoid Counterstrike like the plague (cause i've yet to try the "use Squires on Defend mode and let them retaliate hard"-technique), and i have not had problems upgrading. Still, no hard facts on this one, so could be wrong. Did you test this yourself?

That's the way it seemed to me in the campaign, because I couldn't get beyond Cleric no matter how hard I tried, "I think". I'm sure it wasn't because of lack of gold.

Hello.

Could anyone explain what EXACTLY the Eternal Servitude ability does?

It says it allows raising of undead after combat. Isn't that what Necromancy is?

I think the difference is that you will raise YOUR OWN dead after combat, whereas Necromancy will only let you raise THE ENEMIES dead, if I get things right.

spot on.
One thing about this, though, is that i am not sure of the mechanics involved. Particularly, how does it determine the number (or more likely, HP) of creatures you rise ?

- Is it X% for Necromancy and Y% for Eternal Servitude ?
- Is it X% for Necro and X% for ES ?
- Is it X% for Necro+ES ? If so, starting with ES or with Necro ?

From my experience in battle, i couldn't see any rule... sometimes i raise only my units, sometimes i don't, sometimes i resurrect my Liches and sometimes my Skellies... If someone knows, feel free to drop a line

I played a few games with necro and what im sure of is that ES effectivenes depends on hero lvl.
And i guess it raises a certain amount of HP beginning from the creatures of highest tier. For example after a battle I raised 1 vampire and a couple of ghosts. But I'm not sure if this is entirely correct.

What i am sure of though, is that it's not linked in any way to necromancy skill. You always raise the same amount of skellies, and creatures raised using Eternal Servitude are just an extra bonus

Hello.

So Eternal Servitude Raises ANY undead from your losses? Even dragons?

Plus, does it start at one end of the tier or the other, or is it random?

Thanks.

Does anyone know the formula for the extra damage from Chilling Bones, Cold Steel, Fiery Wrath, Hellfire, Retribution, and Soulfire? Cold Steel seems to give less than 1% bonus cold damage.

Why do Knights have Weakening Strike?

About the 3 ability slots:
I might be wrong, but can you only learn abilities depending on your level of the corresponding skill? As in, 1 ability for basic, 2 for advanced and 3 for expert?
At least, in my playing experience, I've noticed a few times that I couldn't choose, for example, a second ability under destruction magic until I'd learned advanced destruction magic.
That would add some sense to only having 3 ability fields, too. Though it's still annoying.

And I think the ultimates are overrated. Appart from possibly Urgash's Call, which is powerful and has a few useful requirements (I LOVE teleport assault), I don't think I will make many of my heroes go down the road to the ultimate, littered with useless skills.

So, any news about the Warlock's Resistance ability? It seems impossible to get at the moment. Also, has anyone tried putting 2 heroes with Recruitment on a single town?

@Betruger:
I think ES has formula: 7 HP + 5 HP * Hero_Level.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly does "freezing" an enemy mean?  With the ability "Master of Ice," your ice spells get a chance to freeze the target.  Does it make it will skip its turn or does it slow them...?

And similarly, the "Master of Storms" skill gives your lightning spells the ability to push back the turn of the target right?

And do these abilities only apply to your Hero?  Or does it affect your casters as well?

Hello.

Excellent question Iris! Freezing: What does it do?

I've had this capability, but never seen ANY effect.

Has ANYONE?

Thanks.

I think it paralyes for a short time. I also think this effect is cancelled if the frozen army is hit.

Does anyone know if the extra cold damage that Necromancer troops can get from the Cold Steel and Chilling Bones abilities is cumulative - or is having both abilities a waste?

Cold Steel adds cold damage when the creature attacks.
Chilling Bones adds cold damage when the creature IS attacked.

Freezing and stunning have rather similar effect: they delay the next turn of the target by approximately 30%. I would have to check it to be more precise, but that's the spirit.
I'm guessing they only affect the hero, but I'll have to check that as well.

Does anyone perhaps know how attack/defense/spell power/knowledge are distributed depending on the hero type? Meaning, what are the odds, when you level, that you will get each of these as a necro, warlock etc.?
Also, is it already known the same thing but for secondary skills and abilities? Thanks.

I don't remember extacly but it is written in manual.
Generally, every faction has one skill that it is very probable to get, and one slightly less probable, and the other two are even less probable.

For example I remember that Haven heroes get moslty defense skill, then attack and then the other two.
