Going Crazy
I'll admit it, lately I haven't been around so much. I pop in take a look-see and then I go. For the most part, I keep tabs with Valera and browse around, check my IM's blablabla... and it would be easy enough to blame my absences entirely on my busy RL - but that really isn't all of it. A wee part of it is that lately when I look at HC, I think everyone's gone crazy. I just dunno what to make of half of what I read anymore - and to be honest I come here for the fun diversion, not to be baffled by nonsense.
So what do I mean that I think you're all going crazy? Good question...Maybe better to word it that I think HC has gone crazy. Yeah... that's mo bettah'.
One thing that bugs me, is that people are so bloody uptight about things that just don't matter. I mean seriously, if its making you that upset, get up and walk around - go do something else for a while get your perspective back and then return.
I have a huge issue with the concept of political correctness and the way I see it creeping into everywhere I go. It drives me purely mental the way that people obsess over words now, nobody is even bothering to listen to what another person has to say, they are listening to how they say it. The only reason that words have the power to hurt us is because we give them that power. We listen to Joe Shmoe in his high and mighty tower and wait for him to pass us down the list of words that will positively devastate us today - and then suddenly these words are a powerful weapon. (interestingly enough, yesterday the same words were considered a compliment)
It would be so cool to come here and see people treating each other the way they would like to be treated. You can't even imagine the huge difference that could make. Instead of freakin out over a word you don't like, ask whoever said it what they meant - odds are that with a little rational conversation you could work it out without having half the communities' panties tied up in a knot.
Heroes Community is a place where people who love HoMM are supposed to be able to go and have fun. That's it. If you like that, great!! Hang out here and contribute - we loves ya! If you're not having fun, then why are you here? Do you even know? Is it just a weird addiction?
There are so many new people here lately is gone nuts, and I really don't feel like I know too many of you (except to think you're all crazy  ) But I would like to know you! It would be great if people started threads that are not spam, not spam not spam not spam where we could all get to know each other and be a community again.
But if not, meh, at least I had my little rant

To clarify things, I am really not talking about any particular explosions as of late. I am speaking in generally about the horrific way I have seen HC communication go in the past months.
The way I see it some things are broke (and in the case of those like Shiva, some screws are loose) so we'd best set our selves to fixing them 
My post was not meant to point fingers at anyone (except Shiva just now), or meant in anyway to scold any one person in particular. I'm saying you're all nuts

So then why dontcha give them screws a lil shake and see if you can't come up with a solution to our pesky communcation woes?

The thread and the ban l33t thread just started to churn up some other thoughts in me head - and then all those thoughts tumbled out in one post
In my time as a moderator here I have seen about a million easily avoidable clashes, and it just gets tiring - not just matters that involve "modding" and handing out -qps etc, but really simple little things where you can just see that people don't listen.
And the whole Politically Correct thing was something that I had been talking about with a friend earlier, so ... yeah, the post was generally just the result of a bunch of things I guess.
We've talked before about how I feel about a lack of listening
It just irritates me is all.

Well.. full frontal nudity is not for smiting the unholy... more for smiting the holy ones... (good thing Consis isn't around to read it, or he would ran away in terror again)... I would think that heathens should be scared of with idols of evil and disgust... like the 3 headed hydra... or... other menaces...

Perhaps you should take a break Pandora. In your absence I have decided to rise for the occasion. I'll be a good Mod in which ToH gets a public flogging from yours truly. Soon after I'm done with handing out handkerchiefs and handgrenades, my next order of business to immediately promote all my Heroes Community friends in some sort of backwards weird nepotistic way. Valeriy might actually have to try and stop me but not before I do some real serious damage. I'll retro-award all the posters who I thought have deserved Qp's but never did. I'll also retro-penalize every jerk that disagreed with any single opinion I ever offered. That's right, I shall be a great terrible Lord of Sword. All shall tremble and cower before me. TheUltimateMale would be promoted to joint chiefs of staff, Aculias would get his wings, ThE_HyDrA would beg for smaller post lengths, Conan would stop drinking, and love would flow like rivers from the likes of LichKing and KittenAngel. So true to form would my reign be that the assembly would gather to compare and dictate a new title for their rightful emperor: (the first-ever) "Lord Protector of Heroes Community". Of course any Irish Catholics would have to be burned at the stake post haste (sorry Asmodean). . . and Joan of Arc would need to be dug up and recloned. (the first was actually a clone and I can't get my medieval latex inflatable Annie doll to um . . . wake up) History shall have itself a new chapter in the legacy of Heroes Community modship, and I'll have solidified a comfortable niche as having implemented the forum-wide reforms in all of Geekendom.
