Gut, Good, Dobrze, Disciples 3! I tried to install DII on my comp two times I failed, because:
first time: CD was broken
second time: My computer does not read DVD discs :-(
Maybe I won't fail to install DIII ?

looking for offline RPG
As always i am looking for a new RPG to play offline. Sofar i have played the Baldurs Gate, NWN, Icewind Dale and Fallout series as well as an ancient game called The Summuning (think it was on my 486 or P1) i heard good things about The Elders scrolls and was wondering if it is worth buying. As for types of RPGs i got a strong prefference for AD&D/fantasy based RPGs, but others will do too. Also the game has to be able to played offline because i have no internet at home yet

Sweet! I actually preferred Disciples to HoMM (though I did thoroughly enjoy both). I felt the combat in Disciples was far superior. Having only 6 "fighters" who leveled up made the player defend/attack choices a bit more complex. Can't wait for D3!
But will for always play homm series!

Then you must try Morrowind or Oblivion, and wait for Titan's Quest if you enjoyed Diablo.

Disciples II was one of the best games I have ever played. I hope the third part is as good, but I have my doubts about it. As we all know, the pretyer they make them, the more they lack in gameplay.

There's a cool trailer available, so here are some screenshots taken from the video:
TOWN SCREEN
It seems the dark and spooky atmosphere of Disciples 2 is back, now in 3D! I always enjoyed this feature and thought it was what made the game different than any other fantasy TBS. Here's hoping 3D objects won't look washed-out.
PAPER DOLL
I love the paper doll, especially the fact that artifacts are shown on the heroine. The UI seems user-friendly and without needless screens (Heroes V anyone?). In my opinion it provides that unique RPG feeling the game has always boasted.
UNITS
I hate to say it, but the units seem to lack the details. Remember how beautiful creature models were in the prequel...? Those were an excellent example of a bold and original concept art that stayed true to the traditional imagery. Oh well, let's wait to see them come alive in 3 dimensions. The good news is the developers have decided to keep the original upgrade paths.
COMBAT SCREEN
Will the combat see some changes too? D2 had two sets of six (invisible) squares. The battlefield in this picture seems to consist of a few additional squares. The units will probably be able to move, although there's still little space.
The spell animations are as great as ever.

but just 3 races, as i heard. it brings diversity down. pity. i like choices and diversity. at least choices remain (gotta love the upgrade system).
ill buy it only if i read a few positive reviews from reliable sources first, its afterall my money. but town screens look really great and the dark atmosphere remains, so DISCIPLES ETERNAL!

I agree. Empire, Demons and Elves is simply too few. However, the developers have promised two more races in two expansion packs - Dwarves and the Undead.
It's a pity D2 didn't have more playable races too. Greenskins, Barbarians and Dark Elves would have been interesting. Even the Elves seemed somewhat rushed, especially the animations and portraits.

Hey,
- Well,Vlaad, I am known for my thickness from time to time ( atleast according to the missy I can enter the site and "watch / download" link but I can't actually get to see it ? Am I supposed to be registered to see trailers/previews ?
- Anyhow, it sounds a bit cheesy to me that they "only" have 3 factions in the first release. I just hope they have elaborated the upgrade system a bit more then. So that one unit has more than 2 ways to progress, maybe even implemented a morale status for each hero and his units. Example; from D2 you could get an assassin, what if you now could progress further and still be an assassin but ( and here's where the morale status would come into play ) kind of turn into a "Black Hand" assassin. Which story line would be that he is still affiliated to the Noble Empire, but has given up the hunt for glory ( and the love of the fair maiden ) to aid his King with the more shadowy affairs ( that obviously takes place, but does not tolerate a more dephty and open investigation ) <-- Hence -1 to morale for the others in the party.
- Well just a thought though.
- On a side note, I still remember when I installed the game for the very first time and heard "For the Clans.." I was hooked instantly, what a blast And to this day ( many years later ) I still think that the third mission ( where you get attacked ASAP from all sides ) in the Undead campaign is extremely challenging...

Gamespot? I think so. There are other hosts though (who have compressed the file more too). Quote: "Black Hand" assassin. Which story line would be that he is still affiliated to the Noble Empire...
I think Empire is everything but noble. I understand only the Elves were "good", as it were. According to the devs, the sequel will keep the traditional alignments.
Nevertheless, I do like the morale idea, of course.

Hey,
- Well I has been a long time since I played the game, and I seemed to have forgotten the overall storyline But anyhow, Empire was just taken as an example to the possible implementation of my small idea, morale penalty.
