For creatures which require 2 Leadership points, the lower Support-line demons don't do much. They're certainly better for creeping than the horrible Fighters but suffer way too many criticals from... well, everything (the base Agility of a Demon is 6 ). Have you tried them vs. The Hordes? Their Fighers are almost as durable and deal slightly lower damage but require only 1 Leadership point each.

They level up faster than 2 undead fighters and can creep very well. Hotseat is about creeping. To be honest hotseat is about creeping 95% of the time. There is one final combat between the main heroes and thats it. I like it this way. We are sitting in front of the computer, have a drink and brag about our successes.

A nice feature was that you could enable neutrals to be played by the inactive player. They messed up this option when the decided to remove it from game options and did place it as a map option. Now you have to play all or no neutrals at all for the complete map.

Well, try my mod. Undead crepping with the debuffed paralyse line is harder now. I'm just playing legion against my undead friend and I'm ahead cause the undeads can't cure up as fast as demons can with their self-healing support line and their first level recovery spell. The undead paralyzers aren't that reliable any more and can easily be damaged with their range 2.

I'm eager to improve my mod and will be happy to get your input for further improvements. I'm open to all substantiated suggestions. Legions fighter line is on my to do list. I slightly buffed them already but it seems not to be enough. I tried to improve the 2 slot units a bit already but perhaps they need more. As I said, it is a work in progress but I guarantee that balance is much better now compared to vanilla 1.03. It is possible that 1st level undead fighters are too strong as their only weakness (move 1) is no problem against the AI (which is still very weak, only attacking the front line units). Shame on the devs for doing this weak AI even in the third incarnation of this fine game.

On the other hand I admire them for the artwork and the moddability.

Do not be too confident with this. Support-line can paralyze on strike later on.

I just downloaded Reincarnation yesterday and when starting it up it says it is at version 1.03.

Now, I have to admit I've never used Steam before so I am new to their workings. Is 1.03 the most up to date version of this game, and if not, how do you look for patches on Steam?

I don't want to start this game until I know I am fully updated.

1.03 is the last version. Since the dev studio went down, there will be no more official patches. I've made bugfix and balance mods.

Good they are some D3 reincarnation player in HC ..;the best place to get answer to my numerous question about the game mechanics.
I can't seem to find any english ressource about the game mechanics and I really don"t speak russian or czech.

Before I start..'LarkinVB ' i posted the content of my user.ini in a MP message to you' as you requested someone to do on previous page.

OK question1 :

The new leveling system.

If I lock a empire healer upgrade until she gets the 'protection against crushing' skill and then unlock it and upgrade normally , will she retains the skills she gained from her previous form ?

Question2 : how does the initiative system works precisely ?
If i have say 48 initiative , how many time will I play and why ?

Question3 : how are the critical chance calculated , I m guessing some math involving evade and accuracy somehow but I didn't guess the actual formula.

I'm interested in an answer to Q1 too ! I never locked a unit, didn't even know you can unlock them :-). I never found a good reason to lock at all.

I also don't have the exact formula for Q3, I only know the max miss/crit chances are locked to 50%.

Q2: You do subtract the ini of the slowest unit in battle from you ini. If you have still same or more than the slowest unit, you can attack again. If you have less then you carry over the remainder as a bonus to the next round.

Expl. If you have 48 and the slowest unit has 12, then you can attack 4 times in 48/36/24/12. If the slowest unit has 20 then you attack in 48/28 and carry over 8 to the next turn, starting with 56.

Q4 What are exactly the advantage of the guildmaster lord , it says '20% discount on trade' , does that applies to trainers outside your cities ? apparently it does to the shop in castle if you buy , what about if your are selling , do you get +20% gold ?

Afaik it is only working for shops. You sell for the same amount as others.

Wow, that's worth knowing. Titans in D3 are really good and worth their money, imo. I always rush them on a secondary party at least, for dungeon farming.

I just tested it , and it turns out that it is useless to level up further than three levels before upgrading (which is bad game design if u ask me) ...unless I m wrong.
Yesterday I was playing the campaign (empire) part 2 and I ve let my infantery guy get the skill +1 interception , then I upgraded him to the horse version ...and +1 interception did not carry over to the new form so I guess ....
