Will HOMM2 and 3 die out because of HOMM5
I just want to know if you think that HOMM2 and HOMM3 will die out now that HOMM5 has come out and with everyone talking about it now, I don't see any other reason why they wouldn't die out.
I have a little speculation that it may survive but it is quite slim.
So everybody tell me what you think.

I highly doubt it would die. Did HoMM 2 die when HoMM 3 came out? No, it didn't.

NAh no way i played Homm 3 once and loved it and i still play it today just cause some better graphiced one comes out doesnt mean all the classics just dissapear

well I was just thinking that since the newer games have come out and in this case the HOMMV has come out, then people will just leave the old games behind and become addicted to the newer one.
I agree I may not think that, because I have been playing homm2 for 9 years maybe more, actually i have been playing it for more maybe 9 years and a couple of months who knows 
Anyway people like newer things and when the newer things come people tend to chuck out the old games.
Thats not the case for me, if my parents say I have to throw it out I will just keep it, because of all the good memories that I had playing it years ago.

No. Heroes 2 and 3 won't die out. As long as the fanbase stays strong and maintains a reasonably positive retrospective outlook on the earlier Heroes games, the legacy will live on.
As it is, I will probably hold off on buying/playing H5 for a while, that is, if I ever buy the game at all. I'm a fan of the classics, and my computer is stocked full of games that require MS-DOS. The process of upgrading to XP and putting in a new graphics card will be a pain for me, since I'm torn between owning a computer that will support upper and/or lower-end programs. I'm not a technical person, either, so upgrading a graphics card is like understanding ancient Greek to me.
Hence, I'll be enjoying H2 and H3 for a while.

I have been playing homm2 for 9 years but I don't think it will die, because many of you I think still play homm2 and homm3 for that matter.

HoMM 1 and 2 had been died when HoMM 3 came.
But, HoMM 3 won't be died of the presence of HoMM 4 or even 5.
HoMM 3 :
1. has most towns and creatures.
2. most balanced towns compared each other.
3. the easiest and most enjoying HoMM that can be played.
4. has most series : AB, SOD, Chronicles, and the Amazing WOG.
Maybe not just 4 things above, but I'm forget the others....

One big thing is that many computers won't be able to handle heroes 5. My cousin for one will be playing heroes 3 for quite some time still.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it is possible for homm2 and 3 might die because the people of today  but if we are true  heroes players it will stay preserved in our hard disk drives 
it`s a great game and it diserves to be played

On the topic now, HOMM3 cannot be killed as people regard it as the best in the series. HOMM5 will still have less towns than HOMM3.

Anyway since homm2 was the first one that I played I wont let it die, but as newer games come out people tend to stick to the new games and toss the old games out the window, luckily im not one of those people and i was then I would chuck myself out the window
But seriously it shouldn't die because homm2 was what made alot of people be introduced into the homm world.
I was one of those people.

Most games these days live either because they were overlooked or, in the case of HOMM3 and other such classics, have stood the test of time. Only time will tell if HOMM3 will survive for many more years or not.

Anway back to the topic.
Many old games like Hocus Pocus, or Tyrian or Duke Nukem 1 or 2 have gone from our minds.
Some may be remembered like Tyrian which I remember greatly as I had good times playing that, and it is probably still one of my favourite games.
Most gamers will usually wait for old games so they can buy them cheap, or they buy them and then sell them because they may be old or rare.
Those are the gamers which don't really like games, they are only in it for the money so they can get rich by buying games and then selling them higher than the amount that they bought it for.
Now that isn't right at all and they are not gamers, but profit seekers which I call them, and they only want money, not fun and enjoyment from playing a good game when you come home from work or school and to relax, no they want money and those are people that I dont really like.
Sure I have sold the fair few games on N64 but they were really old, and I was getting the money so I could buy the GTA double pakc for xbox which was a bargain $99 and it came with 2 games, GTA3 and GTA vice city so it was worth it, but now that I think back on it, I really want those games back because I have fond memories of playing them and it makes me sad that I know that they are gone and I probably wont get them back.
It brings a tear to my eye this very day
But anyway the old games are what people have the fondest memories of, and those memories mustn't be lost by selling the games and I should know as I think that I may have made the wrong decision.
Sure I have had excellent memories of playing GTA3 and Vice city on xbox, but those may not compare to the memories I had while playing these old games many years ago.
Now HOMM1 may die out because it is the oldest, but homm2 might not as after maybe 9 years I think and it is still going strong after all these years and that may surprise some but not me, because I know how good the game is and it brings alot of memories back to me.
HOMM3 is said to be the best of the series and it is going very strong even today and it is about 7 years old and that is pretty good as it has stood the test of time and that to me is the work of a superb game and superb team who have made it.
