I would prefer that we all buy the game then download it.
How are they going to make any money?
It's like a nowaday higher tech of bootlegging .
I looked for you Wanderer but unfortunately I dont think there is a download yet at this time.
Probally because it just came out & it's not even out in the states yet & some other places.
If you can get the game I guess patience is the key.
Look at me I probally wont even get to play it for a long time lol.

Well the greatest flaw with automation is things change, I had to email Rob to change my email address to get my password back before I could restart, even though I had the password right the whole time it did not take it for some reason until I changed the email one to an 'active' email.
To make long explaination short some players didnt want to go through the hassle and started a similar name, since records no longer matched, and the original name was already taken. It allowed the new entry. (different email/different name) if they tried to use the same email it would have errored and same with the name.

Rob deleted my second name already. (Thanks Rob.) Too bad he is so efficient ( )or you could have seen that at least at the time I made my second name for HoMM IV it did allow you to use the same e-mail. If you typed mine in yesterday it showed you both names actually. It was some time later when the automation was changed to block more than one name to an e-mail.

well I'm in the gamerooms now, there's over 150 players in the regular gamerooms. It is chaotic though, nobody is going for over an hour of playing, dropping, etc... So I've created a room 'for serious ToH rankings only'. I'll see what happens...

well, oakwarrior dropped on week 3, saved game and will probably play him later. Met Vision_Tol (The_wiz, oracle league administrator). Now we're playing for points on ToH and Oracle

update: its about week 3 (or is it 4?) we're playing Neighbours, we both chose random all, and we both got Haven. Still haven't run into any AI or my opponent.

crashes stink
We were both doing seemingly well, about even in terms of build and creatures (from what was said between us)...
Until he entered the Elemental building. I crashed out. Very annoying. Try to avoid that building for now (both sides)
Hopefully, we will be able to finish that game when the first patch is released.
After that crash, we played a quick duel game with Klaus for both of us (I wanted to make sure both players could use the same hero).
I missed a fatal opening move, and it (among other things) cost me that duel.
All in all, the game is looking good right now, just wish the game-killing bugs were found earlier.

neighbors, but separated by impassable mountains =)
That, and the game prevents you from getting the best creatures in week 1. =)

The most annoying right now is that you can't easily continue from a save, you have to send your saved file to your opponent (by email, etc..) and have them save it in the right directory. Then you can continue. I sure hope that is fixed with the patch. Otherwise its best to try to start & finish a game in one sitting... which I estimate to be about 6 hours if both players are 'average' speed types.

May be we chose room where TOH players can meet.
But i got situation when opponent's game is crashed when i attack.
It is very annoing bug.
About 6 hours it sseems true even for me...
But now battles counts in common time, so i think that 10-15 min per turn is norm time now.
And it is too hard pump secondary heroes now with that time calculating... Often Dessa supports Crag Hack, and fight some easy battles where monsters guard resources or artifacts but not chests.

Save files
Ouch that does not sound too convieniant
Perhaps if someone has not already posted the steps to play from a saved game then they would very kindly post the steps here and /or TOH Sounds like the games last quite sometime and are somewhat
unstable for that length of time.
I am really getting an itchy trigger finger waiting until the 25th for my game!

I'll disagree with ghasteater about one thing; it seems to me that homm5 games take just about as long as homm3 games. Turns don't take any longer homm5 than does homm3. I played with 5 minute turn limits, and we had 4 weeks of gaming in 3-4 hours. I'd say homm4 turns are longer than homm3.
Perhaps it is a good idea to call a room as the ToH room, but not just yet until more actually start playing.
If it wasn't for that crash bug on the elemental thing for my game, me and wiz should have finished our game in 6 or so hours.
Loading a saved game, your opponent needs to be emailed the saved game if you're the host, and placed in his saved game directory. Found in mydocuments/mygames/heroesofmightandmagicv/profiles/yourhandle/saves/
Games do get finished though, as can be seen on the few games played so far for ToH, and Vision_ToL has finished one game (and even has a ubi ranking too) for his oracle league as well.

You can set up autosave, which I thought was not set before.
In game options, before you join anywhere, there is an autosave checkbox.
It saves automatically at the beginning of your turn... though after 3 weeks of game I have only 3 saves. It seems to autosave after you have a fight of some sort, maybe one where you could lose.
Anyway, the tooltip for it says something like "key events" is when it happens.
It is annoying to have to email the file to your opponent, and having to complete a game because of it in a single sitting sucks... but this is only the start of great things to come.
