Nostradamus- WWIII Predictions

Hey, i found a book in my basement of Nostradamus and his predictions, i asked my dad about it and he said he bought that the day i was born in the gift shop in the hospital. I could believe him because all of the pages are yellow, and the cover is ripped up. Anyway this is what i found in the book. i later wrote this in an email to myself to save it, so i copied and pasted it to this post:

In the year of the new century and nine months

From the sky will come a great King of Terror

The sky will burn at forty-five degrees

Fire approaches the new city.

In the city of York there will be a great collapse

Two twin brothers torn apart by chaos

While the fortress falls the great leader will succumb

Third big war will begin when the big city is burning.

The big war will begin when the big city is burning

on the 11th day of the 9th month that...

two metal birds would crash into two tall statues

in the new city and the world will end soon after."

Actually NY is on the 41st parrallel.
Maybe he was referring to Boston?

No see i found this book, this book i found was made before i was born. and i was looking through it for over an hour last night, maybe i spent 3 hours lookin at it, and i read what i posted in my first post in this thread, and it came true. and what it said happened 5 days ago.

And also Bush set a plan that once we find out who did this we will go to war. No hand-to-hand but if it goes that far it would be sick. Wars no in days are just bombing one another. and it takes two nukes to destroy the U.S., so half of his prediction came true.

And like it says "Soon after the world will end." i also looked in the book and i didnt see any predictions about years after the NY Terrorist Attack he precicted. So there is a good chance the world will end. or just the U.S.

What the ****?!

Bullsnow!  Total Bullsnow!

First off, his predictions were very vague.  That way people could easily say that they happened by interpreting them in their own way.  That is way to snowing specific to be Nostradamus.

And they couldn't tell the snowing Latitude at the time!  It wasn't until the late 18th century before they could accuretly figure Latitude.

I could go on, but it is snow like this that gives the internet a bad name.  I could probably type up that this was all a government conspiracy, and someone would spread it as the truth!  (It isn't, by the way . . . )

I have to stop typing before I start insulting people, because I know certain people are smarter than this!

hmm for a minute or two i believed you ozzy (just call me gullible) that was until i went to the that hoax page that was supplied (thanks lichking) and finished the rest of the thread. What was the point in lying by saying it was in an old book, trying for some authenticity? (as to me its kind of been proved to be fake)
But what annoys me more is to think that someone started of this urban legend in the first place especially so soon after the it happened.

I don't know about you guys, but I have a real great fear of Nostradamus and his predictions. Maybe I have more of a fear of the world coming to an end. It seems to have been foretold in the bible and by old Nostry and in ancient texts the world over. As far as I know the world is supposed to end fairly soon. The exact dates are irrelevant, but what we do know is that certain people in the world are hell bent (pun intended) in seeing Armageddon. I wish they'd just go and play Heroes instead. Much more fulfilling and a lot less gory.

I think Nostradamus did predict that the Third Great War would begin in the Middle East in 1999. This is all off the top of my head, so somebody please refute me, but he also said that it would last for 27 years.

I would really like to read some of his predictions in greater detail, I've been trying to find a book about him but since the WTC tragedy, no bookstores have any Nostradamus books in stock.

Ozzy, you certainly think that you are indeed born of the stars aren't you? I bet that's one thing you'd love to have. A legacy from someone saying 'I bought this the day you were born, son. I thought that maybe one day you might need it. *sniff*'

LMAO!

some guy Adonis Adonai or also called SOLLOG (Son Of Light, Son Of God) have somethin' to do with that Nostradamus - he seems to be his successor in our times. search for it on google.com - this guy predicted many things, or did not - as someone said - he's not Prophet... but Profit - hehe - also on his page are some links to things which one truly prophet will not bother to put sollog.com - just check out - if you want some black humour

So this guy SOLLOG "predicted" or also called "wrote so much prophecies so one of them come true" the... WTC thing... yeah - and they say this was recorded in the news groups (they were dejanews.com but now groups.google.com holds them)

I've seen another guy making fun of WTC disaster using remake of "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" clip - some people just try to be famous with tricky cheap things.

Setting the record straight.

The quote that Ozzie quoted was writen about nine years ago by someone in a class showing how Nostrodomous quotes could be made up to mean almost anything the interpreter wants.  It was writen about events taking place at the time.  Now some people have rewriten it to apply it to Sept.11.  My source for this info is NBC news talking about internet romours and scams dealing with Sept.11.  Don't be fooled by the scam artists always research your info with CREDIBLE sources.

Believe it or not I've seen this book he was speaking of (or maybe a different version, I'm not sure.)  It was called "Stories and Times of our World: Great Predictions".  It was in a set of books in the library all from the "Stories and Times of our World" series.  Anyway, inside this book their was a chapter on Nostradomis and I think I remember seeing that prediction.  The reason I was looking for stuff on Nostradomis was because of 9-11 and all the stuff going around about him.  I asked my old history professor about him but all he said is people thought he was a whack job untill some of his predictions started coming true.

Nostradamus, the French astrologer born in 1503, published his barely scrutable collection of prophecies, the Centuries, in 1555. Each four-line verse, or "quatrain," purported to foretell world events far into the future, and ever since Nostradamus' time devotees have claimed the work has accurately predicted wars, disasters, and the rise and fall of nations and dynasties. But with all due respect to true believers, Nostradamus composed his "prophetic" verses in such vague language that his words can be — and have been — interpreted to mean almost anything.

Without a doubt, ponderous tracts will be written in the coming weeks and months asserting that Nostradamus really did foresee the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks (such exegeses-in-hindsight have followed virtually every modern catastrophe), but in the meantime there are already a number of "spooky quatrains" circulating by email that are demonstrably fake. It isn't a question of whether or not they accurately predict anything — Nostradamus simply didn't write them.

The first was circulating by email within hours of the WTC attack. It said:

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb",
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

- Nostradamus 1654

Unfortunately, Nostradamus died in 1566, so it's rather unlikely he wrote this passage in 1654. The quatrain is not to be found in his published oeuvre. It's a hoax.

As far as we know, the text originated on a Web page (now deleted due to overwhelming traffic) entitled "A Critical Analysis of Nostradamus," written several years ago by a college student named Neil Marshall. Marshall made up the quatrain above to demonstrate — quite ironically, in light of how it is now being misused — that the writings of Nostradamus are cryptic enough to be interpreted to "predict" almost anything.

'Two metal birds would crash into two tall statues'

An interesting variant of the same faux prophecy was posted September 12 in the newsgroup soc.culture.palestine under the heading "They followed his prediction":

In the City of God there will be a great thunder, Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb''The third big war will begin when the big city is burning'- Nostradamus 1654 ...on the 11 day of the 9 month that...two metal birds would crash into two tall statues...in the new city..and the world will end soon after"  "From the book of Nostradamus"

Again, while the text has all the musty vagueness of Nostradamus' actual writings, it cannot be found anywhere in the Centuries. It, too, is a hoax.

A third variant is perhaps the spookiest:

Subject: Re: Nostradamus

Century 6, Quatrain 97

Two steel birds will fall from the sky on the
Metropolis. The sky will burn at forty-five degrees
latitude. Fire approaches the great new city

[New York City lies between 40-45 degrees] Immediately
a huge, scattered flame leaps up. Within months,
rivers will flow with blood. The undead will roam
earth for little time.

This, it turns out, is an imaginative revision of an actual verse by Nostradamus. The authentic passage is usually translated from the French as follows:

The sky will burn at forty-five degrees latitude,
Fire approaches the great new city
Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up
When they want to have verification from the Normans.
As you can see, Nostradamus made no mention of "two steel birds," nor did he write that "the undead will roam the earth."  New York City lies at exactly 40 degrees, 42 minutes, 51 seconds north latitude, and while it isn't false, therefore, to say it lies "between 40-45 degrees," it is imprecise, misleading and an obvious ploy to make what Nostradamus actually wrote — "The sky will burn at forty-five degrees latitude" — seem applicable to the events of September 11.

'Third big war will begin'

Specimen #4, also circulating by email, is a variation on the above:

Nostradamus' prediction on WW3:

"In the year of the new century and nine months,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror...
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city..."

"In the city of york there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb
third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

- NOSTRADAMUS

He said this will be bigger than the previous two. 2001 is the first year of the new century and this is the 9th month. New York is located at the 41st degree Latitude.

Again, a very few words actually written by Nostradamus — lines drawn from two different quatrains — have been taken out of context and supplemented with made-up lines by person(s) unknown to make them seem relevant to the World Trade Center catastrophe. The end result: again, pure bunk.
