Ugh, that'd make for a messed up parody.

Against my better judgement, I posted a song with my vocals in it. This'll break the ice and prove to the HC world that I'm a crappy singer. Anyway, leave me feedback and try not to cuss too much at me.

Infact I think you are the opposite, you are a pretty talented singer, better then me anyway.

I am still listening to the song, but it is very very well done.

Awesome voice, and very good guitar playing as always.

Good work

I found this thread on Page 3! *sniffle*

Tears aside, I did some recording tonight and I resurrected an old song of mine that I really, really like. It's a vocal demo called "Halcyon Days"; be prepared for some singing. You've been warned. Please leave me feedback afterwards!

3/11/07 EDIT:
I added two instrumentals: "February 16" and "Lucky As You". The latter one is my most creative one yet, thanks to the riff I came up with. Sadly, the quality of the recording is bad and you'll have to use headphones for it to sound remotely okay. Anyway, get back to me.

I listened to Halycon Days the other day, and it sounded alright, not as good as your other vocal song that You did once.

But it is pretty good

Lucky As You is a great song. I'd love to hear a better cut of this song. You put a good singer and some production behind this song and this would easily get bigtime radio play.

This is the kind of music I myself as well as probably a lot of people really want to hear on the radio instead of this modern alternative crap that's been crankin for the past 6 or 7 years.

I wish you weren't way the hell out in Hawaii, cause I'd love to Jam sometime. Just from what I've heard of your 3 acoustic songs it seems like your songwriting is fairly similar to my own from the heavy use of open string chords.

Yeah, I'd love to jam with you if you were in the area. There are several songs I'm working on which could use outside input. I'm strongly considering taking several academic semesters off so I can form a band with other enthusiastic musicians. Going through this solo just isn't good enough, and I'd love to see this turn into something big someday.

I love those open strings. Sometimes I'm torn between strumming and picking.

Thing about picking is that it can be harder to add to it. But its easier to make picking unique. But with strumming its easy to add to it. But it can sound a lot like other stuff.

Occasionally I'm able to pull off stuff that kind of crosses between the two, but usually when you when you do that you either have to change one of the higher notes or go back to one of the lower notes to start picking again.

So it's strum, move finger, pick, pick, pick, pick, strum again, move finger pick pick pick etc...

Not sure if you've ever done that before with your stuff. And I'm sure there's songs where people have done it before, but I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I've done it in a couple of my riffs. It's more situational then picking two strings at once, but I think if it's done right it makes all the difference.

Update

Woohoo, I'm writing songs again. I've got around 5 songs in the making and almost a dozen ideas brewing in my head. I do most of my songwriting after midnight, so all of them are soft and not too exciting right now. These are building blocks for better songs in the future, I hope. When I eventually get my own bedroom, I can plug in my home recording studio and record my songs the proper way.

A friend of mine is working on some beats for me to use. This could turn into a serious music project if things turn out okay. My primary concern, however, is improving my lyrics and guitar playing.

Long-Overdue Update

At long last, I am finally somewhat legit.  I recently acquired a Roland D-50 and a Yamaha DX7 used from local and national sellers.  I haven't tried either one yet because I need to order some accessories to get them working.  I will always be a guitar guy, but it's time to start exploring the wider world of electronic possibilities.
