In 2.0 HoF the runes worked. Too bad that back then they had no activating sounds and the dwarves' cheers!
If you wish to uninstall to play HoF in its original version note that while fortress has no problems its resource costs have changed since then. For instance the 20 gems for thanes turned in 20 crystals and some other things.

How come is this problem not a major problem for all? Why can a patch ruin the runes for ONLY some people?.. How can that be done... I must say Nival is great at this Patching thing
