Btw guys, eldritch arrow counts as a fire spell, technically (when the game determines the chains and resistances). Does it get a +50%dam boost from the phoenix cape, then? I'm too lazy to check it in-game. Anybody knows?

Eldritch arrow deal non-physical damage.

Which doesn't answer the question. But there was a discussion about the Eldritch Arrow spell recently, and I seem to recal that although it has the fire descriptor, it was not affected by several of the abilities affecting firespells (like the Flame Mage ability). Therefore, I will assume that it is not affected by Phoenix cape, but I'm not positive - and they might have fixed the descripencies in later patches.

I didn`t ask how can i fimd the tear of asha i asked how can i change the victory option somebody wrote in this thread that i can change the tear of asha victory condition to a defeat player victroy condition i just asking 2 questions. my first question how can i change the victory condition or which maps you can find the tear  of asha that is not a victorey condition,,, and my 2 question is  their is a map that you can buy everythind including finding the tear of asha

Phoenix Cape increases the damage of Eldritch Arrow, I'm sure about that. I don't know if Ignite works with it, though. (I'm talking about 2.1 here)

I think in the map Rise to Power you can find the tear without finishing the map.. and if you want to change the victory condition you will have to do it with the map editor I guess...

Thanks Alc That's what I suspected. But why doesn't it say so in the description? There it only says - Manual control and restoration after combat.

No.  At least not one that I have played.  Most maps don't have castles on the water for ship yards.  Lots of maps have the tear but I never bother to look for it.

Ill try my problem here then.

Can't install!

hey people...

I wanted install HoMM V(origanal) on my friends computer, but when it came to 100% it wouldn't really get any further, so we cancelled it and tried again! But now we cant even install or uninstall it again. when we try to install it comes up with "installshield" and then it just asks "confirm uninstallation"... Then I press "ok" but nothing happens - now nothing seems to work!! What is going on here, why can't we intsall it!

I tried this a while ago and ignite didn't work with Eldritch Arrow.

Edit: Regarding battle dive... how does the game decide where the griffins land afterwards??

Also is it correct that the damage happens when your griffins would normally get their next turn? And if so does haste make them dive sooner?

The landing point is completely random, may be adjacent to an enemy shooter or on a moat. Diving makes the griffins attack on their next turn so anything that increases initiative or affects ATB(haste, morale) before the griffin gets airborne ensures the attack will come faster. When it lifts it disappears from the ATB bar and there's nothing you can do to affect them.

The ability also doubles the Hit Points of the First Aid Tent

Do weeks of fever/plague/whatsoever affect neutral creatures? For example, does week of plague mean no growth for neutrals as well?

And what about weeks of specific creatures? The week of minotaur, for example, will of course place small new stacks of minotaurs round and about, but if there already was a neutral minotaur stack on the map, will its growth be affected by the week of minotaur as well?

This should work:
First add to autoexec.cfg line setvar dev_console_password = schwinge-des-todes, after that edit input.cfg by adding bind show_console '`' to enable it. After starting the game activate console and type enable_cheats. To reveal map on a custom singleplayer map type @OpenCircleFog(0, 0, 0, 9999, PLAYER_1) to reveal the surface and  @OpenCircleFog(0, 0, 1, 9999, PLAYER_1) to reveal the underground.

Thank you but I'm not sure I follow. Where is autoexec.cfg and how do I add the command, I just type it in it? How is the console activated ingame? Sorry but I have no experience with that.


Also something else came to mind. Does anyone know how you can choose a ranger's favoured enemies from the map editor? Or even better how I would choose some ingame without finding the right neutrals? I have made a scenario with fixed armies where all the hero classes have a starting town with no fort or dwellings just for the unique building bonuses and the spells. For artificer I can add some resources on the map and choose the arties I want then and there but with avenger it would be unreasonable to have all the available units as neutrals to kill...There has to be a more elegant solution!
