Are there an pc controllers that are compatable with heroes 5? Or can you use an xbox 360 controller and play H5?

i cant patch my game. when i run the patch it tells me i have to install the game first, but its already installed.
i think i have the us version of the game i live in north america.

Then you are using the wrong patch version, look for the us patch.

i downloaded the version from ubi.com and the one in the link from these forums both for the us cd/dvd retail version from 1.00 to 1.1
could it be becaus i have a bilingual version of the game. or is it becaus i havent registered yet?

That's obsolete, if you have the original game you should try 1.4 and keep patching till 1.6. For hammers of fate there is only one patch 2.1 or 2.01 - it's the same and 3.1 for tribes of the east.
I can guarantee that it has nothing to do with registering anywhere.

so i tried dling and installing 1.04 and i still get the same error message "homm5 isnt installed." i will try restarting my cpu and see if it works thanks for the help 
*still doesnt work  i think ill call ubi tech support when ill get really desperate.
*is there a way to know what version of the game i have, just to make sure its really us.

I don't think they give a crap But I know that every single case I've seen was resolved by applying the correct patch, the list is in the masterpost just in case you missed any.

Ok, no game controllers work that I know of.

Edit: Putroid there is a way in the ubisoft heroes v forums sticky to check which game version you have.
If you have Tribes and are in North America use the EU patch. (That is what I did).

yup i finally downloaded the EU patch and is currently patching  .
Won my first custom game (it is also the first one i actually play till the end.) i will be downloading the other patches in the next few minutes. do i need to download the v.2and3?

Help!
Iplayed Homm V original and couldn't finish Wizard campaign "the Triumvirate" I can beat Markal but then the game crashed!
I tried over and over again but still Crashed after beat Markal.

Stupid bug You probably need to patch game and replay or use the cheat console to pass to next mission. Another possibility is to use the mod that unlocks missions.

Thanks for the answer, my friend find it and we have made it more fun now hehe.
We played right now and its something I always wonder.
Its about Luck and Moral, becouse it have happend alot.
I had 0-0 and my friend had 2-2. I got more moral then him, I think I got we say 10 and he got 6. And no Luck
It was the same but then I had 3-3 and he had less then me, I think he had 1 in luck and 0 Moral but still he got more luck and moral then me. One time I got 5-4 and it dident work as much as I wanted to
So my question is how Moral and Luck work. Its seem that every time we fight, the one that dont have Luck and/or Moral skill get more then he that have it.

It's all in the manual but the short version is that max chance for luck is 50% even if you have above 5 luck.

Also the hero morale and luck stats are different from those stats for an individual creature.

I know that some creatures have some skills but he was Stronghold and I was Fortress and we had no units that change our moral or luck.
Yaya its bad that is about just get lucky who gets moral or luck.
I wonder on one thing. Me and my friends is always playing former friends, now we have change so the unit that guard that letting you go out in the middle is harder.
So my question is whats skill do you think is best for a small map like that. And I know its different to race to race but in overall.
But we play always on random on everything, speciell me becouse I like all towns.
Attack?
Defens?
Luck?
Moral?
The race speciell magic? If we say you are Sylvan, it is best to go for light magic or destructive, or both? Or just go for one magic skill? Becouse on start you dont know wich spell you get on mage guild 4 or 5 after 3 week
Is Sorcery good then?
I have seen all races strategy and there you think logistic is very importent. But it is in Former friends?
And you think also Enlightenment is good but on that map you are around 17 or something when you battle each other, but it is good anyway?

Just to clarify my earlier words...if all your troops are the same type then +1 morale. If all your troops are of the same alignment (good/bad) as the hero then +1 morale.
Former Friends = rush to center castle with warmachines and snatch.
Didn't Elvin get there on day 3?

Loaded question. Typically week 2-3 maps need logs, warmachines and maybe destructive or summoning if you go for fire warriors/phoenix. Sorcery only if you rely on single spells, mass are not affected.
I can only suggest that you play the races you like a number of times and you'll see what works with your style. There many exceptions to what I said and the issue is rather complicated to answer in short.
And yes former friends like most ubi maps have zero balance, first to rush wins. If lucky or warmachinist day 3 break is possible and with a rush the game is yours.
