I would like to see that in action. Maybe we get the chance for that in the demo.
If it's like sdfx says it's kind of crazy. You definitely need to look out in what direction you attack and more importantly if their retaliation could hit your own troops...
Now imagine they act first in an end battle and attack from above or below the opponent's troops. Ok it would be dumb if he left room for that but anyway...

As original poster said, interval is (1;10), in other words from 1 to 10.

The name crystal dragon was mentioned but not rainbow breath, I typed it because I wasn't sure what else to call it.
As I understood it the breath will:
1- a)travel 2 tiles straight 2) hit first tile then any of the adjacent ones - if it hits the left or right it will change direction to avoid a tripple attack.
2) Hit another randomly chosen adjacent tile but after 2 tiles in one direction(IF that happens) it turns again.
It's just a random attack that has a built-in failsafe against hitting 3 enemies in a straight line be it upwards, left, right or downwards.

As I see it I think what's not to like? You just can't plan attacks in which case you pick the other dragons. However the opponent is never safe even in cases where he was prepared from acid breath. Although the damage is less it can hit up to 5 targets much like a warlord at the risk of hitting only one.

Sylvan usually has at least +3 luck which ensures that 3 targets will be hit. (there is chance for more, but no less than 3)
So according to that forumula.
With luck +3
Chances to hit 3 targets 20%
Chances to hit 4 targets 20%
Chances to hit 5 targets 60%
Average attack hits 4.4 targets!
With luck +4
To hit 3 targets 10%
To hit 4 targets 20%
To hit 5 targets 70%
Average attack hits 4.6 targets!
With luck +5
To hit 4 targets 20%
To hit 5 targets 80%
Average attack hits 4.8 targets!
I say its pretty good for a gay dragon.
PS. In response to Elvins signature one quote from KOTOR comes to mind:

A great game  Soldiers though can be used according to how their officer seems fit so they can defend or conquer. It's a matter of morality but a soldier has little choice in the matter regardless of what he believes. Of course in the specific setting and time Carth was right. Ah I'm eagerly waiting for kotor 3, hope it does not have as much cut content as 2 had.

We don't even know the file size or the time it will be available  Last demo was 700mb I expect it to be around there or less. Hopefully less

Since TotE is about orcs who are half-demons, I'd say it would be 667MB - the neighbour of the beast.
And now something on topic so that alc wouldn't get angry (again):
At least we know they are going to continue patching. There's something I'm not sure about however - if TotE is a standalone then it's not "connected" to the original (file-vise), so we won't be able to play old maps with orcs and alts? Or am I missing something?

Yes, I'd guess you are correct. Actually I never considered the maps issue, I hope we get a good new batch with better balance.

It will work the usual way. You will be able to play everything with tote, no worries there.
Tote is connected to H5, it simply will use another copy of same basic files as h5.
