lol, you are confusing Noah with Moses.
Edit.
So Moses is the one who received the 10 commandments.
Quote: “Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men”
-(Exodus 32:26-28).
This is what I am referring to. You said that those that are killing are not with God. So the question : Was Moses not with God?

Quote:
Quote: I never heard about an atheist killing another person because this other person didn't believe in the BigBang ( christians, muslims...)
No, of course, atheists never kill without a reason, and uncle Stalin was a 100% theist that killed people because budda ordered him to do so..
Do you even READ posts before you answer/quote them????
I will quote my post again, and the important thing RED MARKED:
Quote: ...an atheist killing another person because this other person didn't believe in the BigBang
Stalin didn't kill all these people BECAUSE he was atheist!! And all those people didn't die BECAUSE they didn't believe in BIGBANG. Don't mix apples with pears.
So please try to get any near the post u r quoting, otherwise a discussion doesn't make much sense.
And btw...there is no need to tell me to grow up...you are 2 years older than my daughter.

Hmmmm...I can remember a part of the bible which says something like: An eye for an eye.....

Actually, that was saying not to take an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. It said to turn the other cheek. Go read the Bible.

No, he killed them because they didn't believe in RED COMMIE PARADISE. Makes that much difference? Oh, come on, don't take it that serious. The point was: if someone wants to kill you, he will, and the reason may be god, commie heaven, matrix, untied shoelaces, smile..> ANYTHING. So don't tell us the old "religion is a reason of killing" thing please, ok? and again, no offense.

Here the quote just for you:
The phrase "an eye for an eye", (Hebrew: òéï úçú òéï) is a quotation from Exodus 21:23–27 that expresses a principle of retributive justice also known as lex talionis (Latin for "law of retaliation"). The basis of this form of law is the principle of proportionate punishment, often expressed under the motto "Let the punishment fit the crime", which particularly applies to mirror punishments (which may or may not be proportional). At the root of the non-biblical form of this principle is the belief that one of the purposes of the law is to provide equitable retaliation for an offended party. It defined and restricted the extent of retaliation. This early belief is reflected in the Code of Hammurabi and in the laws of the Old Testament (e.g., Ex 21:23–25, Lv 24:18–20, Dt 19:21).
In reference to torts, the Old Testament prescription "an eye for an eye, etc." has often been interpreted, notably in Judaism, to mean equivalent monetary compensation, even to the exclusion of mirror punishment.

You know there's a saying (i'm translating this from romanian, beware )
"punch Jesus in the cheek/jaw and he'll turn around his other cheek/jaw"
It means, instead of retaliating as most people do when being hit, he turns around his other jaw for the one who hits him, to 'hit' again if he wants more. Something along those lines.
ok if this doesn't make sense, sorry for my bad translation
btw it'll be cool if this thread reaches page 11 with religious talk

Actually the actual quote is something along the lines of:
If your enemy hits you on your right cheek turn your left cheek to him.
The idea being promoted is that of pacifism.

Here's a quote for you.
In the Expounding of the Law (part of the Sermon on the Mount), Jesus urges his followers to turn the other cheek when confronted by violence:
You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". But I say to you, do not resist an evildoer. If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Matthew 5:38–39, NRSV)
You should have read farther down that Wikipedia article.

There they are the blinding red written word. Turn the other cheek too many times and all you end up with is a swollen damn face. Stand up for what you believe in with a slight fight to your step, just know what battles to fight.

Well thread kind of drifted off topic. I was generally amased by the idea that people today beleive earth is flat even though back during the time of ancient Greece it was already generally accepted to be a sphere.

I was just pointing out the article to Angelito. I agree that sometimes you have to fight, but the message it's sending is "try peace first." Sorta like Gandi.
