It is a difficult map for a non expert gamer. However it is one thing that you must keep in mind when finishing a battle: the next will be harder.

So you have to do all your possible to keep minimal loses. Minimal means zero or under 10 creatures. If you lose half your army in one battle, that means you did a mistake, as no valid mapmaker will make such map where you waste all your towers 3 months production to win a middle game battle.

Many people just ignore the most elemental thing in battle: there is a "wait" option. This option makes the difference between life and death.

Try to see how it works and how you can take advantage of it. Once you understand the mechanics of "wait" then lesson 1 was mastered. 150 more to go.

Lesson 2 will be about split. Also makes difference between life and death.

Remember that if your titans kill the Archies and then it is still your turn to act, casting force field around the titans will prohibit the AI casting resurrect on them, as the force field will be placed over the dead corpses. Try different split until you get the archies move where you want to.

Quote:

Ugly Ratface did every turn resurrection, 113 creatures came back, while I killed most of the time 106 of them.

It is strange that 340 titans will kill only 106 cerberies. Something is wrong. But anyway don't worry about resurrection. Sooner or later he will run out of spell points. Use a single master genie in YOUR area and resurrect him until all cerberies are in your RANGED area. Otherwise the damage is halved.

I later battles you will need to use berserk on your own monarchs and poison the units you are going to resurrect. Otherwise expect a finger failure.

Hopefully this isn't the WoG version, because in WoG AI will cast mass haste first turn, then dispel. In SOD he cast shield and no dispel, if what Angelito says is true. Big difference.

The best thing to do would be to upload your pre battle save and then wait for some screens. I am sure someone will take the challenge.

Ok..my bad of course. I just checked the first option, and there it showed exp.points.

But Salamandre is right. If you continue that game with that losses, you better stop it now. You will be extremely annoyed if you will see what other fights you still have to do. Ugly is an easy fight, because he only has cerberi (as a threat). So you just need to find a tactic vs ONE species.
Wait till you fight vs the purple guys itself....you will face a whole inferno army....several times...

If you want, you could send me your save right before the fight, and I will try to redo it...and post some pics (if I survive..)

Not really a whole army several times. There is one thing SoD was never able to fix, and it is the fixed armies when AI can move and meet each other. Only WoG can do it. There will be one very strong inferno player which collected armies from every other, then a few baits. You will find very soon who is the ONE, as he will attack you on open field as soon as you enter.

I remember reloading a few times until I could manage my movement and reach a town before going attacked. Behind the walls it is much easier. Once the first is dead, then you won vs inferno.

For the helm you have to find a hidden hut: behind your rampart town.
The sword is held by Serena (Suca Mi), which is in the first stronghold you will battle. Need the helm to access that area.

Where is this Serena in the Stronghold.

Left of the north-western Tower town (to the very NW top of the map), behind a green boarder guard, there is a 1-way monolith entrance. This will lead to Serena, who will give ya the sword of judgement....after you've killed her..

Hello I'm stuck in this hilarius and great map. I would be grateful if any could help me. My current situation is that I've conquered two of the four elemental towns, but I can't take the other two due to a border guard that wants an ancient behemoth and a blue border gate. The Dungeons isn't possible for me to reach either because I don't have the orbs of fire, water, and air. Another problem is that after I picked op the Lion's Shield of Courage, Orange got the brown tent which implied that they also got they white tent and now they are conquering my fortress towns. I can't bring down all of his black's without behemoths, but it seems impossible to get crystals at all.

1) Recruit a phoenix, return at Desaliento, walk down through the desert, take the south subterranean gate, sail in boat north and open the quest guard with 1 phoenix, get a few behemoths to join.
2) Good luck with orange warlocks.

Unleashing the bloodthirsty??? Yes, it is a great map!
Have you ever defeated Sentinel? 3x9999 level 10 dragons; 9999 titans and 9999 archangels! I saw someone do it with 6000 ancient behemoths and a lovely Orb of Vulnerability!!!

I desperately need this orb to win against the dragons guarding the orb of Inhibition, but where to get it. I can't defeat Sentinel without it either??

The orb can be acquired in the desert hut. It will ask you tome of air and spellbinder hat. Localize tome and captain hat underground with view air and use dimension door to reach them both. Then change the hat for spellbinder near your town portal town.

Thank you very much. That orb made it all a bit easier and I managed to win the map.

Hello.

I played this game alot when i was a kid and i remember i thought i was pretty leet back then. But anyways about a month ago i picked it up again(saw a guy playing in uni lecture lol) and after a few quick games in maps like island and caves or smth i downloaded a few custom made maps. And i understood how i had still alooot to learn in this game
Anyways on my 2nd try i finished a map called empire of the earth 2 that thought me quite a few tricks and i was like woooow after finishing it. But i read from these forums that it was an 'easy' map and hard one is for example this one, unleashing the bloodthirsty. so here i am

I have somehow managed to figure out combat tactics for all my battles so far up until the conflux island. I did not kill the hero on the lion shield island btw, i figured he wasnt meant to be killed yet as he seemed unreal. Anyways i can fight the conflux hero in a situasion where i am defending the castle, i could even take the conflux on day 1 to get some phoenixes myself, but as he also has all speed artifacts he will start the fight as he is attacking anyway. I cant berserk him, cant blind, cant do snow. He has A90, D84, i have A82, D81. I atleast figured out my endgame with leaving some elementals be to resurect my army, but i can barely even kill off his phoenixes right now. He has 2k of em, also 3200 lv6, 4k lv5, 5k lv4, 5800 lv3 and 6500 lv2.
I have 350 titans, 1100 hydras, 4k elves, 2.2k cows, 2.5k basilik and 300 brown behemots. also 120 devils as former high speed units, but dont use em here.

So anyone has any idea about possible combat strategy here? replace maybe smth with someone else(i havent lost pretty much anything exepct wyrvens(1.5k left)? Or should i go somewhere else before going after elementals? Or maybe im too late, its already month 10?
thanks

hi

Hi, i just started to play this map, looks interresting, but..where the heck are those Boots you need in the beggining to pass the little river north of starting town? I viewed the map in mapeditor mode to find them but they dont appear on the map i have (Unleashing the Bloodthirsty v2.h3m). Is there a wrong version of this map and a good one? I mean can there be a bug or smth on it?
Looking forward for an answer (Dirk maybe?),
thx

They should be right above the gold mine behind the cliffs(so u cant really see them)

Btw my own battle problem i managed to solve with the easyest of possible solutions...by unleashing the bloodthirsty. i accidently discovered brown behemoths need no crystal at all so i bought some 1600 of em i had avalible in my strongholds. that turned things around abit
