The original spelling of my name is as I registered. Noscript and Adblock but both are disabled for HC.

I'm using uBlock Origin but when disabled for HC it doesn't fix the issue. The other addons are disable html5 autoplay and something for youtube downloads, I doubt any of those interferes.

Galaad, you’re a mod, so you’re not triggering any flood protects, regardless of what Firefox is messing up. Other users are more restricted and the Firefox bug results in the flood protect message. When I am not logged in, I run into the same flood protect issues, that I am not seeing after logging in.

I am logged off like 99% of the time, Maurice. Also, members with four red stars or more are free from floodprotect, if I recall correctly.

Hmm, ok. Not sure what’s triggering it, though. Valeriy knows about the issue, now, so hopefully he’ll have a solution soon. Or Mozilla with a new update  .

The issue isn't with floodprotect, it's with 'Heroes Community Overload protection', which I imagine is similar to a fuse that helps the server control the flow of information. Too many users browsing through the threads simultaneously? Temporarily halt information exchange with one of them and display an obnoxious message!
As to what caused the problem in the first place... Could it some faulty Firefox update?

I have the same issue but somehow I managed to open only this page of this topic. Anyone have a fix? This has been going on for like a month now.
Microsoft Edge also has the same issue but after like 3-5 tries it manages to open a page.

Nope, I guess its one of the last firefox builds... 74+ or later... and frankly its horrible.
I don't know either why this board runs on 11+ year old code... Isn't there another option for active protective measures?

Well, maybe its time to be more pragmatic, let's do a fundraiser, probably that will motivate Valeriy to do some update. I understand the guy, this forum has no interest for him, so its up to the people using it to propose solutions.
So far, I can't connect except from phone.

It appears that the issue is caused by firefox rapidly reloading the thread page the moment it finishes loading it. I’ve posted a bug report on firefox bug tracking forums. In the meantime if anyone can find out what makes firefox reload the thread pages the moment they finish loading please let me know.

The FireFox team was quick to respond and helpful. It appears that there was both a missing charset declaration on HC and there's a bug in FireFox that causes an unnecessary reload when encountering certain characters in certain situations. This erroneous rapid reload triggers HC's server overload protection mechanism.
I've added the charset declaration to HC pages and this seems to fix the issue in my tests. Could FireFox users please check if this fixes the issue? If there are any pages that still have the issue, post a link here to the exact URL where this error still occurs and can be reproduced.

yes it works now, thank you 
I get no reload when entering threads but almost always when I get out from threads and going to main page (activating the bookmark only). Using the arrows to get back to main page does not trigger the reload
