Well I'm stuck.
I tried restarting. Doesn't help.
I gave my hero instant travel but none of the maps cut-scenes and scripts work. I don't get any victory conditions except "Gotai must survie".
Maybe I should try skipping the mission and see if any of the next missions work properly?
EDIT: skipped the mission, next one worked perfectly. Wonder what caused it? Maybe it has something to do with installing the Dark Messiah map after all...

I got my butt handed to me in the objective castle in mission 5. I build my main hero (Gotai?) to get absolute bloodrage (the ultimate?) I'm thinking that this is not a good build and I should get stuff like triple ballista?
What would your recommend for a build? I cleared the map of all other enemies, so I could wait forever to out-build him. But 30 titans, 200+ magi, a legion of goblin shooters, etc sounds intimidating!

Shater destrucutive (with Fiery wrath adn Manaburn) or Shatter Dark (with Corrupted soil) can do miracles.
Anyway don't attack before you have:
1k of Goblin Witch Doctors (!) and Centaurs (Nomads or Marauders doesn't really make much difference).
About 500 Maulers (!)
200 Shamans (Earth and Sky both work)
120 Executioners (!)
95 Pao-Kai (!)
85 Cycops (Blood and Untamed both work, I used Untamed)
No you can both crush Galib and Alaric (yes, Alaric will appear with an army that is about 90% of the strength of Galib's)
Remember: Keep defileing Alaric and Galib, their magic will be a great pest.
Skills I recommend: Blood Rage, Luck (Soldier's Luck, Magic Resisitance, Barbarian's Luck), Shatter Destructive (Mana Burst, Fiery Wrath), War Machines (Ballista, Catapult, Goblin Support + RING OF MACHINE AFFINITY !), Attack (Frenzy, Stunning blow, Excruciating strike) and Leadership (Empathy !)
Before fighting, go to a memory mentor and unlearn "Shout", it's pretty worthless for Gotai, once you have Empathy.

You should definetly pick Nomads
Quote: Catapult, Goblin Support
Why??No, you should instead take triple ballista and flaming arrows under attack.
And why all the hero attack skills?I think i only used my hero to finish alaric's brute stack.

I actually just wrote down the skills I had in that scenario (I prefer to work towards the absolute perk with my main campagh heroes)
I gave tripple Ballista and Flaming arrows to Kujin already (nad it saved my skin a lot of times)
Quote:

I personally prefer Marauders because they last longer, but as I already said, it doesn't make much difference.
Maulers, Witch-Doctors and Executioners definately should be picked in favour to their alternatives.
The Other choices aren't that relevant, but I picked Marauders, Earth Daughters, Pao-Kai, and Untamed Cyclopses.

Well you made a big mistake about Kujin, she does not get ballista in last fight.

No, she runs into infernal fortress like a madman, unless you stop her, and go see the mentor, but that will fail the objective cause you can't get back.

Yeah, I unlearned shout on map 3 when I was smacking down Haven everywhere.
After playing around with the skill wheel, I'll get triple ballista, flaming arrows, luck of the barbarian, and I'll try out empathy. This puts me at lv 25 and I know I'm up there around 30...I might go for evasion and protection since the Academy dude DOES have such a large army.
Wow, Alaric too? LOL! Looks like I'll have to wait two months or so to put this army togeather even with the tear. I don't know where the ring of machine affinity is but I'll look for it.

What worked like a charm for me was shatter dark, triple flaming ballista, shout. Also I had about 2k steel golems that join you in the desert to the east, main reason that they cannot be hurt much by divine vengeance. Did not lose much army.

Ring of machine affinity can be gotten at the artifact merchant. The most important thing is to defile Alaric and Galib constantly. Alaric will constantly cast Mass Light and Divine Vengeance, while Galib Dark Magic is a real pain in the @$$. Cast Haste on the Witch-Doctors. Get a large number of Cyclopses by getting all Dragon arties (again at the artifact merchants).

Triple ballista becomes relatively useless when you have a huge army. I use executioners and untame tactics insteaed of having a normal balanced army , Alaric doesn't have even time to cast his second spell...

I took Lexxan's advice and squashed both armies. When you have over 100 untaimed cyclopes, and a legion of centaurs, nobody can stand against you.

Mission 2 heroic impossible?
I sure must be doing something very wrong, since orcs are my favorite race and I can play very well with them. I had 4 attempts and always fail, either the teal hero kills me, either I camp too much and my enemy’s army are just too big to defeat.
The fourth attempt I made was almost perfect, I managed to get 43 centaurs to join me in the begging of the game and I never lost any units (Well except maybe a few goblins, orcs) fighting against neutrals. Used the triple ballista+wyvern technique to kill really strong stacks like druids and other strong ranged units. I even managed to get the runic armor and axe without losing any good units. But oh my the teal hero has an army bigger then mine even though I did absolutely everything possible to maximize it? I reloaded the battle several times and managed to win with lucky hits and high morale, then after flagging everything on that piece of land and picking up every item, I head to the sea. Let’s not even talk about the pirates. By the time I get to the shore of the other island, the dungeon player has a huge army! 100~ Of those witches can obliterate any of my stacks. So how is it possible to finish this mission even if I never lost any units to neutrals and saved up the biggest possible army?

Beats me, I barely managed to win that. The first wave with Haggash took me by surprise but I managed to win and after I got the second town around week 4 a huge teal army stepped through the one way exit I stayed in town, next week came,I bought some more army and caught him for one step before attacking my first town. It was still a slaughter, he destroyed most of my army.
I ignored the pirates and took Lethos' garrison, then attacked the third town and they joined me. Stayed there a few weeks and sailed south to teal. The pirates followed and took my town so I summoned army from my second town after I sent army from my first with caravan. You stay near well and summon for a few days because I did not have too much knowledge.
In the end the battle that followed was suitably epic
Seriously though after this mission I regretted having started the orcs in heroic. It ridiculous how difficult they have made it and I did not enjoy it much either.

the hardest part is beating the teal hero, after ur done with that u can jus sit and relax cuz no other heros will attack u unless u get on a boat. so jus rest for a couple of weeks, get a good army, train up ur hero, and then head for the sea.

If I just camp without attacking the dungeon hero wont his army overgrow mine? I actualy didnt try this, I have a savegame where I beat the teal hero. Lets hope this works :S
#Edit: I finished the second mission, wow the teal heroes and dungeon players army doesn’t grow or grows too slow. I just skipped about 6-7 weeks got a huge army and pulverized everything that came in my way!
P.S. Am I the only one that noticed how overpowered Rage of the Tribe is? I was able to do 3500 damage with it + Increase rage of my units. I’m pretty sure that it’s allot more powerful then any dark/chaos damaging spell.

ya its pretty powerfull but it depends directly on ur ammount of units, if the enemy player kill ur low level units, ur spell will start to become useless pretty fast. i dont remember now but i think empowered implosion did quite a lot, not sure if more, but if u had lucky hit with it (with the perk that allows critical spells) im sure it is more dmg.
even if it wasnt more u gotta consider than its not like u start a map and u go around and pwn everything with that spell, itll only do lots of dmg once u got a really big army and i think that balances it jus fine.

So is the last Orc mission ever going to end? I'm at month 6 now and it doesn't seem that it will EVER end =( The Academy player has infinite(?) heroes and keeps sending them across the map... all my heroes died and I'm left with the main to run across the map endless times recapturing citys. How long did it take you to finish?
