Well I don't know exactly why they don't wanna bring those memories back. But brilliant? Hmm... 
Let me share my thoughts. I recently played LotA. There we don't have cinematic scenes like in H5. Only readings, which was the style of H4. It's not that I then had nostalgic moments of H4. But I dunno, somehow with just that written scripts, I feel I can delve into Solmyr's thoughts, his inner-conflicts, and his feeling to Emilia. Such are feelings I didn't get watching the H5 cinematics. Either in this case pictures don't worth thousand words, or the writer was just sheer brilliant.

I guess that's what I was missing. It made the campaigns more...personal.
