No, it becomes to many factions.
Cepehus clearly said that Snow Elves only are part of the history.

Well, Gadi was curious about how a Faction would look like, so I made a basic version. Of Course, I'd like to create a faction that isn't created yet.... Are there?

I don't know. I don't like finishing other people's work. Despite the fact I like the idea of an insectoid faction, I don't know how to create one...

I think that Lexxan's idea of making the Snow Elves a playable race is a good idea. About your line-up suggestion, I basically like it, only the Lemmings bother me. I mean, come on. Also try to use this to build their line-up. It might help.
My suggestion for racial skills of the Snow Elves:
Magic racial skill: Area Freezing
There are a several levels of that skill. They can't be achieved at once, only on after another, in the hero's turns. The most basic level reduces the temperature on the battlefield, and reduces the defense of the all the creatures, except of the Snow Elves units. The second level of reduces it to a point where they initiative is affected a bit. The third level creates small damage to random units on the battlefield, and the forth level freezes them into ice cubes.
Might racial skill: Survival
The Snow Elves, which are used to rough conditions, use their survivability skills to reduce the effects of Suffering, Weakness, Plague and similar spells. It also gives them a chance (according to the mastery level) to resist mass-killing spells. Every time the Snow Elves succeed to do a thing like that using Survival, their morale raises.

Well, there still isnt any Insectoid faction done (that must have bee a typo or un-updated info).
But sure, if you want to change the lore and totally leave insectoids then go for it
But please dont take a lot Norse creatures, they will be used for the Dwarves.

Suggestion for the Skills
Since Mythical didn't post his the Skill system, can I post a suggestion of mine?
System is like in Heroes 5, one Skill with Three Perks, and different Skill Comob's can be acheived. New feature: when you have a certain Skill Combo your Hero gainst a Special trait, which is basically like anther specialty. The Traits and their requirments available depend from race to race. An example of a trait is (using H5 Names) + Tripple Ballista + Flaming Arrows + Catapult + Master of Earthblood give "The Siege Engineer" trait + (which could be: + 1 shot to Catapult and Ballista, +1 to Ballista/Catapult att and def per hero level)
Basic Skills are:
Offence: Increases Allied Damage on enemy units
Defence: Decreases Enemey Damage on your units
Leadership: Increases morale
Opportunism: increases Luck
Engineering: Increases the Effect of War Machines
Full Moon Evocation: Increases the mastery of Full Moon Magic
Summer Spellcrafting: Increases the mastery of Summer Spells
Autumn Enchantements: Increases the mastery of Autumn Enchanments
Dawn Abjuration: Increases the master of Dawn magic
Day Divination: Increases the mastery of Day Divinations
New Moon Magic: Increases the mastery of New Moon Magic
Winter Witchcraft: Increases the mastery of Winter Witchcraft
Spring Summoning: Increases the mastery of Spring Spells
Sunset Spellforcing: Increases the mastery of Sunset Spells
Sorcery: Allows the hero to cast spells more often
Strategy: Allows the Hero to Attack more often
Enlightement: increases the Effectiveness of Magic Overall
Movement: Increases the hero's Movement points
Scouting: Increases the Hero's LoS
We can divide them in:
A)Racial Skills: ( Skills that are only available to Heroes of the Appropriate Faction
b) Might Skills: Skills that have a great use in Battle:
C) Magic Skills: The Magic School Mastery
D) Arcane Skills: Skills that help the hero use Magic more effectively
E) Trivia Skills: all other Skills. There can increase the might potential of the hero, or are Adventure map skills, etc...
...
This is all for the moment... It's only a suggestion

Sure, just saying that it would be nice to include some Norse elements like Giants in it etc
I was thinking of making Dungeon after Academy if I have time.
edit: I finally had time to add your Necropolis racials, however I hope you dont mind that I nerfed them a bit and made them slightly weaker and tweaked them a bit because some of those skills were ridiculsy overpowered to be honest.
For example a Dread hero would make his enemies almost never able to act at all and a Necromancer would almost never lose any troops at all.
I also added it enemies cannot be raised as Vampires, it breaks the story.

EDIT: I've got another, more mythological Proposal.
1) Ulfsark => Huskarl/Berserker (Attack before Attacked)
2) Axethrower => Axelord/Hammerthrower (Shooter)
3) Jarl => Hersir/Einherjar (Tank)
4) Sleipnir Rider => Vanir/Aesir (Flyer)
5) Troll => Hamártroll/Abyss Troll (Tank-Caster/shooter)
6) Jotunn => Surtr/Hrímthur (Tank)
7) Rift Worm => Jörmungandr/Delvedeep Worm (Walker, counts as Flyer)
Edit: @ Xerox: it's fine if you nerfed them, I just like IMBA

Added the last info on Academy about background etc and creature line-up. I will now add the creatures.
edit: Added the first creature. If you dont think the Wisps looks like Wisps - then I can say that the un-upgraded version neither have arms or a very humanoid looking body, they are much more round.

About the skill names mentioned above: Reflexology has to be the worst skill name ever? Where did that come from? Strategy is a good skill-name however, I might wanna borrow that, if it's not copyrighted.

Well it's a Béta name It replaces Luck , cause I still scratch my headabout how the Hell Luck could be a Skill... I'll rename it to Reflexes as a Lucky Strike is mainly a critical hit and depends on Reflexes and opportunits. Anyway, the name will be changed.
And You can borrow Strategy if you like

Added Stone Gargoyle, Obsidian Gargoyle and Arcane Wards to Academy creatures.
The idea is that the upgrades are supposed to be offensive oriented and assist Might heroes a lot while the alternate upgrades focus a lot more on assisting the magic heroes and act as support troops (like have a aura that restores mana, statue form that increases survivability, detonation that restores mana and an "magic channel" ability that increases the effect of all spells by some % depending on the number of creatures)

@Lex: names of Magic Skills are very good. Couldn't think of better ones. The only one that I would change is "Sunset Spellforcing" to "Sunset Spelling". Sounds better and more correct in the term of grammar.
Perhaps we can change Reflexology to something with fortune? Perhaps "Fortune Telling" or something similar?
All the rest are great. Thanks Lex.

Not really, gramatically it's actually a little worse (spelling = the ability to spell, not cast spells) Try Sunset Spellcasting or the like.
