Dress up your Hero

It's simple: choose every single artifact for your own hero, you most desires ones

Mine are:

Ring 1: Ring of Speed

Ring 2: Cursed Waistband

Weapon: Unicorn Horn Bow

Head: Lion Crown

Chest: Armor of the Forgotten Hero

Shoes: Sandals of the Blessed

Necklance: Necklance of the Bloody Claw

Shield: Ogre Shield

Cloak: Cloak of Death Shadow

Pocket: Tarot Deck

What is yours?

My other ideas:

The Choosen Ones for the Necromancer:

Ring 1: Ring of the Broken Will

Ring 2: Ring of the Unrepentant

Weapon: Staff of the Netherworld
Head: All-Seeing Crown

Chest: Tunic of the Carved Flesh

Feet: Windstrider Boots

Neck: Amulet of Necromancy
Shield: Shield of the Dwarven Kings

Shoulders: Sandro's Cloak

Pocket: Skull of Markal

Comment: I tried to focus here on the weaknesses of the Undead. They are quite slow and sometimes they have a low number of defense. Windstrider Boots and the Dwarven Kind Shield would compense thease. I choose some artifacts that decrases morale, but as far as I know, Undeads aren't effective on morale. An other good choice -and at the same time a tactical artifact- is the Ring of Unrepentant.

The Choosen Ones for the Ranger:

Ring 1: Dragon Eye Ring

Ring 2: Ring of Vitality

Weapon: Axe of the Mountain Lords

Head: Crown of Leadership
Chest: Armor of Valor

Feet: Boots of Magical Defense

Neck: Necklace of Victory

Shield: Dragon Scale Shield

Shoulders: Treeborn Quiver
Pocket: Golden Horseshoe

Comment: Boosting up the Sylvan shooters is the most important thing when we play with them. Incrasing their attack and shooting power -through the Axe of the Mountain Lords, the Dragon artifacts and the Treeborn Quiver- will make them almost undefeatable. As an extra suprise they'll get some magic-resistance and HP giver artifacts. (Ring of Vitality and the Boots of Magical Defense)

The Choosen Ones for the Runemage:

Ring 1: Ring of Vitality

Ring 2: Ring of Speed

Weapon: Dwarven Smithy Hammer
Head: Helm of the Dwarven Kings

Chest: Armotr of the Forgotten Hero

Shoes: Dragon Bone Graves
Neck: Necklance of the Blody Claw

Shield: Shield of Crystal Ice

Shoulders: Bearhide Wraps
Pocket: Horn of Plenty

Comment: In this case, I tried to increase the defense of the creatures against fire and cold-based spells. Although some creature has got the ability Armoured or Large Shield, thease artifacts can be really useful. An other important stat is the spellpower, which is increased by f.e. the Helm of the Dwarven Kings (which makes the cratures immune to the Blind spell). Because of the quite high cost of runes and the overall buildings, it is necessary to capture the Horn of Plenty, too.

The Choosen Ones for the Wizard:

Ring 1: Elemental Waistband

Ring 2: Cursed Waistband

Weapon: Staff of Sar-Issus

Head: Lion Crown

Chest: Robe of Sar-Issus

Shoes: Greaves of the Dwarven Kings

Neck: Pendant of Conflux

Shield: Book of Power
Shoulders: Bag of Endless Gold

Pocket: Golden Horseshoe

Comment: Of couse a Wizard uses a lots of spell during a combat. That's why it is important to gain extra points to his spellpower and knowledge. Luck is more or less necessary, too with a sall among of mana regeneration. (Pendant of Conflux) As we know, the main skill of Wizards is the Artificer. Making thoose little artifacts costs a lots of gold and resouces. As a result, we need the Bag of Endless Gold and perhaps -as by the Runemage- the Horn of Plenty.

But that are only 8 artifacts. Choose an extra Ring and something for your Pocket, too.

Ring of Speed and Staff of the Netherworld would seem like pretty safe picks.

I would rather interested in your complete "dresses" if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I love thoose artifacts, that decreases morale and luck from the enemy hero and increases them by me. That's why I choose the Cloak of Death Shadow and the Lion Crown as two possibilities.

Here is my pretty lady Deidre:

+20% Initiative of all creatures in your army

+10% Initiative of all melee non-flying creatures in your army

+5% Initiative of all small creatures in your army

+5% Initiative of all large creatures in your army

+10% Initiative of all warmachines in your army (Plague tent)

-20% Initiative of all creatures in enemy army

-2 Morale and Luck

And if that is not enough Banshee Howl: -20% Initiative, -2 Morale, -2 Luck, -1 Speed, for all enemy creatures. Plus full Death's Embrace bonus and if you have Howl of Terror Deidre can lower enemy morale way below -10. Shackles are of course against Warlocks Happy waiting for your turn sucker!

OK, these would be my preference for a common hero. If given the faction, some changes are necessary.

Armor of the Dwarven Kings
Staff of the Netherworld
Golden Horseshoe
Cloak of Death's Shadow
Ring of Speed
Ring of the Broken Will
Necklace of the Lion

Btw, I have a question. For artifact sets, say Death's Embrace, 2 items will enhance Banshee Howl etc. 4 items decrease rising cost; does this mean it's in addition to Banshee Howl enhancement? Or does it replace the former?

I have  question about the mechanics of ring and staff:
how does the adding and substracting of initiative works?
If my opponent has the staff and I have the ring, is the ring bonus calculated first and then the staff will substract 20% of the new initiative, do they simply cancel each other out?

Yes, of course. If the initiative boost it "walks over it" by the calculated amont. Eg. If I have Staff, Ring of Speed and Dragon Bone Shoes and enemy has only Ring of Speed then enemy creatures initiative is normal and only my all creatures initiative is +20% + also my walkers\melee creatures +10% Initiative. (Imagine Wraiths here whit 30-35% Initiative boost)

Ok this is more of a style combo than an actual super-logical-max-bonus thing that others had posted (come on ring of speed + broken staff is boring don't you think?)

So if I was a H5 hero I'd either be a Demonlord (Chosen of Chaos/Spellbreaker/Gate Keeper) or a Warlock (Catalyst or Intemidate) basically anything with high attack + high Initiative + good damage.
The Items would be the following:
Fingers: Either two Ring of the Broken Will or 1 + Ring of Speed
Weapon: Either the Dragon Flame Tongue or the Axe of the Mountain Lords... thats a tough one (depending on style)
Head: Guess it would be the Dragon Talon Crown
Chest: Dragon Scale Armour or the Armour of the Forgotten Hero
Shoes: Ok incase I'd have the Axe of the Mountain Lords + The Armour of the Forgotten Hero I'd pick the Greaves of the Dwarwen Kings in case of the Dragon Scale Armour I'd pick the Dragon Bone Greaves (the dwarwen shoes would just not match)
Neklace: Pendant of Mastery or Necklace of Victory
Shield: Basically nothing as I would use the weapons I mentioned with both hands but if required I'd take the Tomb of Dark Magic
Shoulders: Definetly the Cloak of Deaths Shadow... it's just tooo evil
Pocket: Unfortunately we have no ninja disapering powder but I guess the Shackles of the Last Man will do fine.

Chest: Dragon Scale Armor
Shoes: Greaves of the Dwarven Kings
