Hero Trail for ToE
I'm a new comer with my first MOD for ToE. Hope you guys like it.
Download

[url=http://www.shiwendigital.com/HeroesV/RuneMage_Trail.rar]Rune Mage for HoF only[/url] - Unrar and put the RuneMage_Trail.h5m in Maps/ folder. Must be used in pair with the upper one or you just wanna change Rune Mages Trail.

How to edit them?
1. Edit images
Unzip the Heroes_Trail.h5u with WinRAR or WinZIP or any unzip tools.
You'll find those .dds files in folders. In fact they are DDS format images. Open one or all with Photoshop or any image program. Then you can edit them whatever you want.
Note: You need dds plugin for Photoshop to open dds files, google it.
After you edit the image, click "Save as..." in "File" menu. Chose the "D3D/DDS (*.DDS)" option in Format, name your work, then press "Save", and then there is a dialog would appear. In this dialog, make sure those format: "8:8:8:8 ARGB (32 bit)", "2D Texture". Notice the "MIP Map Generation", choose "Generate MIP maps", this is very IMPORTANT. Finally, save it.
At last, replace your own image in which race folder and keep them default file name. Zip them and rename the .zip extension to .h5u. Have fun!
2. Edit XDBs
Well, I DO NOT know how to explain this. -_-||| I'm not good at Englis so it's HEAVY to make a statement.

i say they are qp worthy...
Thats my opinion...
i hated the old sronghold i had trouble telling whether you could move further or no

Thanks man they look awesome! I personally just don't like the Necro thingy that much but woooow Fortress has REALLY improved.Thank you .
Why shouldn't this be qp worthy? Just because Cepheus and Kronos haven't gotten any qp for what you think deserved one (which I btw think too) doesn't mean that he shouldn't get one for the really amazing work he did.From my point of view this is definetly qp worthy.

Really good im going to use it a lot better than the originals.Still it would be good if you made the necro one more spider like

About QPs: a QP is a Quality Point.
I just gave some explanations to the questions raised here in the QP thread, 11th post. If you have more concerns, discuss it there, and stay on topic here.
Btw, applied to this mod, I'm sure bobkane could describe his work (the files involved and how to edit them). I don't think it has been done before about hero trails and symbols.

Ohhh.... I am not good at English because I come from China. I wish you should know what I mean about the following words.
First, I do not understand about "QP", even I did read that thread. Anyway, that is not important for me. I just HOPE everyone is happy. Then I am happy, too. This is what I think.
Please give me minutes to make a note or something, then everyone could know how to edit them.

you can get change it so it works for homm5 but you need too know how too make mods (don't ask me i don't know)

The fifth symbol you show at the bottom is interesting. A Magen david (A normal traingle interwined with one backwards on it) with a cross inside.
