Concerning Fortress, it will be hard to make a good package as there are no female dwarves

Hehe, now there's a sentence I don't expect to encounter again

Looking at it, a really skilled artist might just get something looking half good. But it would be a challenge for sure.

Well, since dwarves are smaller, it shouldn't be too as difficult. But remember to shave of the ears when doing that to whomever takes the job.

Some of these replacements move very slowly on the map.  Is there a way to modify the movement speed so all heroes travel at the same, original, speed?

The movement speed can be increased, but at some point the anim becomes frenzy, and the movement is not smooth.
I guess you're mainly referring to the Matriarch model, for which there's a better solution: the model can be given the fury move anim, which is quite faster. This might not have been done yet, but it is certainly planned on my side.

I have the same problem with the Archmagi (while the Magi model simply didn't work on the adventure map - it looked like a gangly spider).

For the Archmagi, just bump the <SpeedFactor> to 3 (instead of 1) in the move anim file.
You can also try giving it the war dancer or sprite move anim. The skeleton should be compatible.

Most of the models on your page have already be posted here, however. But, some are rather ingenious, such has the Maeve model.

I tried installing these unique hero looks.
And though I put them in the "usermods" section, they do not show ingame.
Do I have to start a new map for this, or did I put them heroes files at the wrong place?

Maybe you might want to also make a light version,
one which just gives the female hero at least some female looks.
Like the Biara model for the Inferno heroes,
the witch on mount for the Dungeon etc.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Theese are pretty sweet!  I've downloaded a few already.

Just saying, maybe someone could try making one for Jhora with an Earth Daughter model (it would have horns, but makes more sense then giant anime hair).

@Sethsryt- Did you rename the file from .zip to .h5u? That's how Heroes recognizes its for the game.

To breathe some new life into the thread, I'd like to post my own personal tests and thoughts about some of the heroes.

Jhora- Maybe we can find something better. The fury model just doesn’t suit her.
Nathir- The casting animation and shot still looks green. Can it be fixed?
Razzak- The bio says he can’t walk on his own. maybe you can graft the golem legs onto the existing skeleton. With a little work, I think we can make it look usable.
Nur- Perfect.
Galib- Perfect
Narxes- Good, but the mage is used with three different heroes.
Havez- The mage really fits him like Narxes. Changing Razzak’s legs will mostly be good.
Faiz- When I tested it, it had no adv. map movement sound. Fix?

Zoltan- Casting and attack animation are still blue. Can green be possible? But its isn’t as big as a problem since blue fits the necropolis well.
Deirdre- Hmmm, lacks animation at all.
Raven- Good enough.
Orson- Truth be told, I really never picked/recruited him.
Lucretia- Very good.
Naadir- The lich is the best fit, but…oh well.
Vladimir – The default model doesn’t suit him. Who was it that posted the Vladimir model. I thinks its good.
Kaspar- The mage model is our only good option aside from default with some tweaks.

Inferno
Deleb- Hmmm, okay, but kinda close to Jezebeth.
Jezebeth- See above.
Grok- The Pit Spawn is somewhat fitting, if only graphically. Biographically, no.
Alastor – Agrael’s model. Sentimentally, no. Character-wise, yes.
Marbas- No BladeDancer, if you don’t mind.
Grawl- Once was enough. Twice is pushing it. Try some ingenuity.
Nymus- Works, but needs some touching up.
Nebiros- The best by far. He’s amazing.

Jhora, hmm. Hmm, she's by far the hardest to find a proper model for. Earth Daughter? Yeah, the outfit can be adapted to make a suitable dress. The horns can be cleared and the hair browned to make jhora. Need to take out the daggers too. Skin lightened and maybe the veil over Jhora's face could be put on her.

Well they were already .h5u files in the zip so. Or maybe should I make the whole zip in which they are situated, a .h5u? I am playing with ToE, might that be a problem?

I hope it will work soon though, it would look much better with female heroes actually being female instead of male. I really liked how Heroes IV had female and male character, though they weren't unique, it did quite the trick.

When you download a file, you should get a .zip file. Inside, there are h5u files and such. Just name .zip to .h5u and it will work. Don't do anything with the stuff inside it. However, If you prefer just a single hero, extract the one you want. That's what I did because some will need changing or deleting beacause they just don't fit. I think its easier. So

1. Name the entire thing to .h5u
             -OR-
2. Extract which heroes you want changed.

I don't think naming the whole thing to h5u would work, tbh. But I've never tried so I could be wrong.
