Regarding Castlevania 2: I enjoyed it although I get what you guys mean. Some dialogues were really infantile (like they wanted to focus on character building, but blew it part ways with poorly written scripts), and there was too much dialogues to begin with. Still, decent for a Western adaptation of a beloved franchise. Dragonlance adaptations were a disaster for instance.

Watched Yagate Kimi ni Naru first episode, but the pacing made me think it's not a series for me (although I enjoy some slice of life/drama from time to time).

Btw do you guys watch Golden Kamui? Some crazy snow going on there... (the taxidermist motive was one of the most creepiest things I've seen in recent anime, and the series is full of similar things). The series is almost like a Revenant movie made anime, but with added Japanese quirkiness.

Yeah, revelation, actual drama takes time to develop, it’s not all telenovelas xD

Backstabbing politics not what I’d use for a bunch of kindergarteners squabbling xD
Not that the trio was any better. Perhaps this was meant for that age range? Who knows *shrugs*

I dunno about slime, nothing really changes. The pacing stays the same. I do have another friend who finds the manga boring as well so it’s just probably too slow for you.

Anime in 2019

List is subjective, there might be some hidden gems still. But for me these are top of the list:
- One Punch Man 2 & Mob Psycho 100 2 ofc
- Hero Academia season 4
- Made in Abyss 2
- Dororo (looks like some old-school dark slasher action anime, me like)
- Vinland Saga

No SnK?
But yea, definitely good anime to be hyped about. One Punch Man 2 is hands down at the top of my list, followed by Made in Abyss 2 the first season of which I saw again just recently. Hero Academia is basically your go-to shonen nowadays that's still faring well, unlike SnK which mostly disappointed me after the 2nd season, though 3rd one was better.

Would add Sarazanmai to the list for visual novelty, adapting anime to irl background. I know it's been done before here and there but nothing to this scale.
Hitoribochi no Seikatsu to fill that school/slice of life gap. The premise is pretty interesting and the style's cute.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari for the passion on display. Probably more but I'll stop here.

My Hero Academia really petered out for me.  I read it for quite some time and just completely lost interest.  It's a shame.

I have enjoyed reading/watching One Punch Man but just like the main character struggles with boredom, I find the series becoming increasingly dull.  It always follows the same path: villains appear, heroes beat them, new villains beat them, new heroes beat new villains, mega villains appear and beat new heroes, main character saves day.  It begs the question: what is the point of the series?

- blasphemy.
- aren't your posts lately all about losing interest in some anime?
- it's One Punch Man!
- I think your question about the point of it has some existential undertones alluding to your own life.
- heresy.
- you kept reading Seven Deadly Sins for Escanor, you disliked DBZ, you said you were losing interest in My Hero Academia, now One Punch Man too?
- try renewing your interest? Watch something else? Take your mind off for a while?
- you don't have to take things seriously, it's a parody after all.
- profanity.
- I feel there's other things I could say, but I don't want to be tactless.
- at least you still post once in a while, so that's nice.
- I really appreciate you as a fellow anime/manga enthusiast, but I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on this one.
- sacrilege.

I am only half kidding.

@OmegaDestroyer

MHA - sure, it does follow your standard shounen tropes, that's what shouenens are about Yet what captures me in the series is how well it builds its characters, not only Deku. You really care for them and cheer, even those who would usually be "background" ones. I was devastated after Mirio incident. Also, needs more Ryuko! Deku could use more confidence as a soon-to-be-nr1-hero, but his steady growth is actually the strength of the series.

Onepunch Man - don't know which one you are reading. I read manga and truth is it really did derail at some point. Why the f* would I care for Garou or Child Emperor, yet last 50 chapters were about anything other then Saitama. This sucks.

If you're loosing interest, like others said, try to search for something new, maybe a genre you didn't normally touch? Who would've known I would be interested in a sports anime at some point, yet I watched Haikyuu!!! cus is incredible.

Due to a couple of apps, I imagine I consume more manga than everyone else in this thread.  Off the top of my head, I follow around 80 series or so and I'm always looking out for new things.  Sometimes I luck out and find some incredible gems, other times I find series where giant chickens are eating people (which is the least disturbing aspect of the series).  Rest assured, you do not have to worry about me losing interest in manga as a whole any time soon.

According to A-P I'm following 281 series atm and that does not include the 40 or so webcomics and about 50 series that are not on A-P.

I haven't seriously read it because it's garbage.  I have gotten a chuckle of how menacing the author has tried to make chickens.  But it's a hot, hot mess.  One of the worst series I've had the misfortune of stumbling upon.

I read very little horror.  There are some good series but there is a LOT of junk.

Have you heard when Jump Giga is supposed to be out?  I want to finally read the end of Gintama.  The only site I ever went to for manga discussions was ArlongPark but stopped going due to the vitriol.  I don't have time for that nonsense.

I wouldn't know. I don't really discuss manga anywhere much. Sometimes with elvin, one friend and my sister, perhaps with some acquintances/friends from an anime tracker but that's about it.

I just lurk the feeds of mangaupdates/mangadex for the latest stuff so I'm not knowledgeable on magazine releases(Finland is pretty much out of the loop for manga/anime services.)

I've read far too much crap lately, I don't have the energy and time to dedicate myself to something really good so I just grap a chapter of some trash that has been released I can read at work on break and this has accumulated fast into a pile isekai meh.

The best thing I've touched lately are:
If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord/Uchi no Musume no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikasnowara Mao mo Taoseru Kamo Shirenai, which is about a mercenary/adventurer/hero picking up a small demon girl wandering in a forest and their life from that point onwards. It reminds me of Bunny Drop/Usagi Droppu. It is also just as good, but being monthly it's only got 24 chapters out. The light novel isn't worth anything btw, the writer is just not good enough.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, about a girl sold to the imperial court by kidnappers in historic china, trying to get by unnoticed so she can end her service without a continuing contract. Not nearly as serious as it sounds. She used to work in a pharmacy and has a bright mind so she goes around doing things, poking her nose into places she shouldn't but is just too curious to stay away. It's really, really entertaining, highly recommended. Sadly not that many chapters out yet but the web/light novel is pretty entertaining as well and while not quite as good, still good for some smiles.

Retired Heroes, on-going, around 20 chapters out. A chinese story about a family where the father and mother are retired adventurers. Things then start happening around them. A light-hearted adventure without the adventure? Really liking it.

I'm also a sucker for well drawn lilies so I really liked:
Goshujin-sama to Kemonomimi no Shoujo Meru, complete, about a little maid picked up from an orphanage and her master.
Tsuki ga Kirei Desu ne/Isn't The Moon Beautiful?, on-going, about an arranged marriage between two girls who met when they were small.
But if you don't like that kind of beauty not much else there.

And Gender Bender is probably my most read genre, today Elvin has had to deal with my links to:
Kare wa Kanojo ni Kawaru no de/Because He Turns into Her, it's about a guy who pushes others away because he turns into a woman when the sun sets. Only his family knows. Obviously being in high school this gets him into problems. Not a comedy but a drama instead. Again not that many chapters out but it's solid.

Just watched Ninja-scroll. Amazing.

Also finished both seasons of Castlevania, entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed it, end is much as I expected and the journey was fun. First episode/season is brilliant. Second one is a little milder but concludes well imho, the very end couldve been improved on, since the main characters came across as major pricks.

Have been going through the monogatari seasons and loving it. Some of the shorter inbetween arcs aren't that good but main series is loads of fun. I especially love it's 'conceptual animation' and quirky dialogues. It's also great how it keeps reinventing the formula and its characters, the status quo is always changing.

Three episodes into  Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemist Knight, and I honestly have no idea what I am watching. It goes from hot to cold in an instant, not in a bad way, it just feels like the anime is on skitz (as in goes from all goofy to 'serious', to apocalyptic in moments, to seiyan **** to more goofin around).

Feels like legend of legendary heroes on speed.

Haha, had the same impression. "Not sure if serious..." meme comes to mind when watching this. That said if not for weak animation quality and wtf moments it was pretty unique anime... a very mixed bag of seriousness and ecchi.

That said Winter season is starting with a few interesting things to look out for.

Also...Jean was 17, why make her into a loli when she could've fit into the main cast. They're really trying to jump on that dumb myth that Gilles de Rais was into kids.

Also B astard!! Seems like a good watch.
