Oh god I have a new favourite thing ever.
Holy **** BOSCOGN! A worthy enemy.
They really manage to showcase Griffith's skill with a rapier well in this movie. The way he counters lances on horseback... amazing.
This moment almost made me cry, Casca is so happy and beautiful :3 They manage to bring out so much damn emotion with their facial animations.
Makes me cringe thinking about the next film... certain moments will be very... painful.
Also the ending scared the living **** out of me. Motha****ing behelits man, don't trust 'em.

I still remember this from the first one: A death from which you will be unable to withdraw! 
They have done such a fantastic job at conveying action as well as emotion. That 100 men battle puts the old anime to shame. Can you even imagine seeing the storyline concluded in this anime? That would be simply amazing.

The end of the anime always rips me apart, I'd be dead without the manga. Alas the manga has come soooo far, I almost dread to think back on Guts' adventure.

Oh lol at last naruto chapter, it's pretty obvious even the writer is bored. 
In other news, second season of oreimo is fricking hilarious. I laughed my ass off at the second episode. Nonstop win.

I just realized something about Berserk... in the very first volume, after the count apostle dies her daughter swears that one day she will kill Guts.
Wonder if we'll ever see her again. Would be pretty awesome if she has become an apostle to slay him

Speaking of which I just begun re-reading the Berserk, I forgot how much of an ass Guts is (and this is after the "event")

A recurring theme in the series is do what thou will. To take responsibility and do your thing. When Guts suggests that she end her life he does so because he considers that it might be preferable for her, not out of spite. It's not his business anyway. But in general, he tries to disassociate himself from the people around him, he pushes them away.

The main theme of Berserk imo is companionship.
Guts starts out learning to love his original mercenary band, but is then betrayed by his father. He grows weary of strangers.
He then befriends the Hawk, relearning the value of companionship, but is betrayed again. Now he's hurt, he trusts no one as seen at the start of the manga. His brand also makes him a danger to anyone that he gets close to.
Still... he has Casca, and Farnese, Serpico and the rest are growing closer to him...
For me, the message is that a human can be very very strong, but even stronger when he has friends at his side. Guts and Casca has been through the most terrible ordeals I've ever come across in a manga, yet with their group they can still find these small rays of light where they can laugh and smile.
The Hellhound is a rather fitting demon for Guts I think... kind of the opposite of his social side, a lone wolf that thinks companionship is a silly obstacle on his way to revenge.
Ultimately, Guts may have to choose between revenge and companionship, the wolf's thirst or his human love.

I probably overrode it with the anime version due to disbelief. I remember the bits before it with certainty, since key bits before it aren't in chronological order which confused me on my first reading. (like Griffith dealing with the peeps that poisoned him or Guts duel with Bosgone) But this? It's completely new, maybe I double clicked by accident.
