This is what happens when someone has 134 workers in the mill and refuses to donate wood. He was asked nicely to donate and he was rude. Instead of donating he spent all his resources on an army. He doesn't have one any more. And he doesn't have any resources either. All the wood I get from him goes to the mill and sulfur pit. I keep the rest to cover costs. (that raid cost me over 4000 gold for upkeep)

Thank heavens we aren't neighbors. I was dirt broke in Wood for the first 60 something hours, having built and upgraded a lot. My workers kept chopping away, though...I needed every wood chip I could get. 
I was raided by some guy 3 times while I was offline days ago. Only after I confronted him about it, he said something completely unrelated to donating. Through his broken English, I barely made out that he wanted to make a "pack" (pact) with me. He said that it'd be the last time I'd get prompted before he'd raid me again, although I'm fairly certain I never got any messages or offers from him before. Oh well, he's left me alone for three days after I gave him a nice discount.

I got bored from this game after just a week and a half lol, and quit it today. I can't see how this is going to progress further with researches taking weeks and buildings being built a day each level...
I also do not like the idea that inactive towns disappear and you can build on that spot just like that without having to conquer the abandoned town, every island is getting overcrowded by too many people making it a big mess to deal with

Wow and i thought you were a real expert at it for some reason.

Edit: you need 6 slingers minimum even if he has no army. Better to just make a swordsmen really.

Why six...? One dies due to a bug, so send two. I've done it. But upgrading the Barracks and sending out one Swordsman is a better idea.

its not a bug its a automatic city defense mechanisim.
You need 6 if its a advanced city i guess. 1 will always die. Sometimes more if the place is more advanced.

Why is that a bug? The town has a default defense even if it has no army.
Does anybody on zeta have a museum?

I haven't figured out how it works yet. The only cultural exhange I have, the other guy contacted me. It was a message with a special check box to accept. I built museums in my other two towns and I couldn't get it to work. So now I'm upgrading my first one.
BTW, at level 1 my growth went from 4.19 to 5.18.

Same thing with the Palace and Embassy. It would be an obvious exploit, wouldn't it?
I was thinking of leaving in the blaze of glory (blocking and looting this jerk who keeps rejecting all my cargo ships), but might give my new alliance a chance.

What do you mean he rejects your ships? Can he do that? I thought that happened because they are blockaded by someone else.

Well. He might have been blockaded. Or you may have been.
you cant actually reject them except by having been blockaded.

Getting sold out happens a lot to me. If I remember I try to check every now and then if it's still for sale. If it's not then I withdraw the ship. That's why I think over level 5 market is worthless until you research market and get trade agreements. The towns just take too long to get there.

Exactly - unless you two have a trade treaty, but it can be done via PMs without gold...
I was hoping spies were more fun, but the risk is simply too high, while the waiting time is too long.

I use them mainly to find enemy spies in my town though. I only send them out when I plan on attacking.
What are prices like in your area? Near me resources are going for 25-30 now. Everyone is hoarding to pay for the higher level buildings.
I just had a trade go bad. We traded 300 wine/marble and he didn't sent it. So after 7 hours I just went and took it from him.

Yea, I thought about him being offline. But we agreed on the trade and I sent him the wine and a message within minutes of his acceptance message. Would you agree to a trade and immediately log out? Every trade I've done, as soon as the second person agreed we sent it asap.
If he has a real good excuse tomorrow, I'll send him back the "extra".
