Yep he was congratulated the first (is it) prize for being the best player, i remember him when he was just a teenage and almost no one knew him (it's been only some years ago, relatively speaking)

I love soccer, playing and watching! But I suck at playing. Pity.
Fortunately you can't suck at watching, so that's what I prefer

Watching can sometimes, be a dangerous thing, at least that's the way where I come from. Most soccer lovers are so fascinated with this sport that once in a time someone dies or gets seriously injured on big games, like the national cup.

Hey, Orodruin, are you fan of a specific footbal team?
Personaly, I like Steaua. It's that kind of verry little team (in Europe, becase in Romania is a phenomen), but wich is usually a pleasant surprise in European Cups( Uefa Cup and Champions League)....
We are growing very fast. 4 years ago, we were an obscure Romanian team, which qualified surprisingly in the Uefa Cup group stages. We were drown in group with Athletic Bilbao, AC Parma, Standard Liege and Besiktas. Of course, we were considered outsiders, but we finshed on the second place and qualified in the knock-out phase. Here, we were extremly unlucky to be drown with the Spain's champions and trophee holders, Valencia. It was obvious we didn't standed any chances, and we lost the first leg in Spain 0-2.
You can watch here the highlits of leg 2 in Romania. ( 2 parts.) Even you woun't understand Romanian, you'l see from the commentator's enthusiasm how loved we are!!) Steaua plays in blue, Valencia in white.

I don't like soccer  Actually I don't like to watch any sports. It is so boring if you can't do it yourself and feel the adrenaline running. But that's just my opinion.

Rugby players don't have much protection... just clothes and the occasional headgear to stop their ears getting ripped off in the scrum...

Basketball is fun to play but it's quite unfair that short guys can't do a sh*t
And I'm short myself (5'10 - 175cm) that's why I had to give up on that sport
But I liked playing it in primary school a lot when we were all runts and height did not matter that much
mvassilev: I sincerely hope you do have some physical activity anyway. Like, I dunno, gym? You don't want to be another obese guy not knowing what good shape and strength is They say it is a problem in your country, isn't it?

Not true, i have 1.70 and played basketball in high school as shooting guard Too bad that i dont have time for sports lately

We have a guy in my class who is 165 or something and plays in our town's team.
Not that basketball is very populat here because it was regarded as the "red" sport for a long time.

Well I restrict myself to gym, martial arts, bicycle, jogging and watching football when it comes to sports. I'd need to stop my studies & my work to do everything I'd want to. Oh, and you can count chess and blizzard games as sports, too, I think

True, you need extensive training to click that mouse fast enough and for a long period of time. Also to lift chess-pieces from the board...man what a fatigue...

I like soccer to watch but my favourite team many years doesn't gimme a championship pleasure  But in basketball we are great one of the best teams in the europe u kno PANATHINAIKOS!!
Ah btw and north americans genarally doesn't prefer soccer.

It would have been SO nice if Every country would have had very good players all the time. It would make competition more ...suspensive
At the the moment watching football/soccer is a form of sadism (I'm from Belgium, which has one of the worst football/soccer teams in the world )My country oses form countries like Kazakhstan, Scotland or the Czech Republic... 
Anyway Brazil, Germany and England are really good at it!!
They have my blessing
