Very nice.  But I don't understand why the crystal would have skin wrinkles? Please forgive me if i'm being mean, but shouldn't it be glass-like as opposed skinny and calloused?

No need to feel mean, it's completely up to the designer! You make it how you want it. I was just throwing it in for interest.

Thanks bro.  You're a good man.

I need to do some recolouring on the back tail arms and legs.. but otherwise, does it look good?

It's great; maybe lacking contrast a bit (as in, some parts are a bit `flat red`).

the color and the size.. if i knew more about modeling I would make it shorter.. I'll try playing with some skeleton files tonite.  "try" is a very iffy word in that last sentence

Do you mean scale down the model?

Yes, but not a whole lot.  The H3 crystal dragon didn't tower over everyone like this one does.

Hmm. My lesson was going to explain how that would be `impossible`, but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Atm though I can't test the idea (and wouldn't quite have the enthusiasm really either, for that matter...).

Crystal Dragon Update:

I tried to match a crystal as best I could. I figure out how to remove the effects, still confused on how to add effects (if someone would like to help I won't argue) and I don't know what to do to get it to be transparent in game.

Very nice dragon there. Though the crystals are darker than the dragon. But I like the dragon how it is, even if it doesn't look exactly like the crystals.

P.S I think pics look better ingame rather than in the editor. But you said the transparent thing didn't work ingame.

I don't see anything about making the transparency working in the 101 post, and I'm hoping someone will explain how to make it carry over into the game. Maybe i just need to pack it into an .h5u file and then put in user mods instead of leaving in the data folder

So the texture works in-game, but not the transparency?

unfortunately yes. I edited the file that contains the AM_TRANSPARENT saved it and packed it into an .h5u, but to no avail

Also I tried playing with granny viewer. I find that there are only 3 types of files contained in the data file.  xdb, dds, and files with no extension type named as such:

D1887EAE-7506-417D-B4C2-194B791F9B5C.

The files like the ones above do load in granny, but they show this:

Do I have to load the model, skeleton, texture, and animation in order to see anything? if so, how do I figure out which file is what in the heaping mess?

also, when a file references a pointer such as:

<SrcName href="/H5A2/Creatures/AlternativeUpgrades/Dwarves/T6_ThunderThane/T6_body.tga"/>

where is this H5A2 file that begins the whole string?

P.S.  I give up on putting a "glowing heart" in the dragon. I figured on re-coloring the glow from the familiar's mana bag, and gluing it to the chest bone of my crystal dragon, but for some reason when i do so, it splits the the effect in to, one on his chest and one at his feet.

yeah... kinda disappointed in the supreme lack of help (no offense gnoll_mage).

It seems as tho the community has turned its back on my project, and in the wake of this lack of assistance I have lost almost all interest in continuing this project.  I am, after all, stuck at a dead end w/o answers.

Thank you to those in the community that did help.  It was fun while it lasted.

What!? Don't quit this mod. If you wan't more replies, I'll give you replies. I wanted to do the naga . Seriosly this is a great idea. Please understand!!!

I could help you if you want to start working again. It's not really a big deal if the transcluency effect don't work. It will be good anyway.
