If you read the post when I talk to Kirandar and I talk about all that happened to all the factions in HoM&M5, you'll see that the demons/Inferno are sealed up(again) after Dark Messiah fell and that Maarn strenghtened that seal.

Well, ename, I think that we're waiting for you to update regularly, since you are the DM (sort of)... I suggest that you either update or join the game and play as Maarn... Allowing you to still post the global events, but allowing us to play freeform constantly... What do ya say?

Good question. 
I kinda envisioned it like an Orb of Vulnerability, the orb colored green instead of black.

I think I'll let you all play freeform, and I'll update whenever I want something significant happens... or Maarn does something important.
The Artifact itself is a formless mass of magical green light-energy, but it is contained within an elaborate roughly spherical system of interlocking, curving lines of pure gold.
Its kinda like the Orb of Vulnerability, except with no base, and the golden finger-thingies holding it up ar much more intricate and elaborate. And the sphere itself is green and shapeless.

Alright, I positioned the troops. I think that in terms of strategy I did ok...
I suggest to B-E-T-A that he makes a two-pronged attack with the dwarven forces... Or an extremely long siege where famine would thin us out
