All is fair in love and money?

Women is now suing husband for lottery winnings that he kept from her. They have been together eight years. He shut their phone off and refused to have the television on. When she received a post card congratulating him on a new house she started to get suspicious. After she confronted him he just disappeared. This was about 600,000 thousand we are talking about before taxes. So I wonder if she is actually entitled to it. What if he were to get a trust, would he have to share it with her as well? I think the law states no, but what about in this case? What if I go and when a million dollars shooting pool? Would my husband be entitled to half of my winnings? Now ethically I suppose it would be the nice thing to do but how would that hold in court?

What is sad as that they were with each other for so long and he does this? This just proves that you should not sink yourself too deep into love because **** like this can happen. You think you are in a loving relationship and then this happens. Now if she treated him like red headed step child then I hope he gets away with it, if not then it just sounds deceitful.

Million dollar questions….. What would you do right now, for those that are married or in long term relationships, if you won the big jackpot???

Then we should erase concepts like love from our life and just replace them with let's say ... Interest, Materialism, Hypocrisy ...

Sure she is entitled regardless of how sour the relationship has been.
As long as they are or were married at the time, she is entitled because marrieage is a 50-50 relationship.
Half of his is also half of hers.

Do you mean with everything, Aculias? So if I was to buy say a Prophet 5 Synthesizer, and my wife has no interest in Synthesizers or Electronic music whatsoever, that that would be half hers? In my opinion, what I buy is my own, and what my wife would buy, is her own.

Or did I misunderstand you?

If she wants.

Most women after a divorce basically take what they want anyways.
They cant have it then they will take the guy to court to fight for it.
Basically how the law favor women almost 100% over men while women use thier women powers, Yea basically they do get what they want.

I am not entirely sure about the laws of marrieage but It should be compromised.

I am really not too positive.
I think the answer can be simple though.
Ask a person who is married if it's part of the marrieage liscense or not if the money is thier money & not his.

According to law anything gained by either partner while married is half the others.  If they are worried about anything the may have gotten before the marriage get a prenup.  If the other partner isn't willing to sign one, then perhaps they are just after what you have, and not you.  Anything after marriage of course belongs to whoever obtains it.

Imagine if one of them had won a dream house, worth $600,000.  Then they divorced.  Should only one get the house, and the other booted out on the street?

Better yet lets say one agrees to stay home and take care of the kids, and the other works and pays for the house.  Doesn't matter which is which.  Should the person who paid for it be able to say "I paid for it, it's mine, get lost."?

What if, while one was working and the other staying and taking care of the kids/house, they recieved a huge bonus because they saved the company they worked for millions?  Would it be different then?

Oii oii oi... taken the whole thing rather serious are we?
Heeehe 1.sorry about the "dying" thing english isn't my first language 2. Sorry for judgeing you but the whole "suffering" "abolish love etc." has a very "dramatic" flair to it
3.Well I'm sorry if your life is that messed up that you are being "realistic" I must live on mars or something... no wait I'm ignorant to the truth that's it
4.Don't worry I shall continue screaming "Yeaaaah love rocks yeah~~" until the day of course where I am so hurt that I shall fall in a bottomless pit of dark feelings forever suffering in this horrible world that is to unfair and dark to comprehend forever living in pain and sadness of the ignorant masses that just don't understand my deep feelings of excruciating lonelyness perhaps one day I will get the attention peace I really wanted.

Dude...don't worry about my life ... for the moment you don't know jack about it
This thread is not about my life, it's about a common ISSUE that exists in the world.
As for you .... well ... you're transparent, you have no substance, you live with cliches.
It's obvious that your lack of knowledge is a blessing for you ... continue to keep that brain empty.

You're funny. I do hope I will find that enlightening pain finally having found purpose in life.

@VF
Eventhough I'm thankfully not married I'm pretty dam sure that I wouldn't run because if I'd mary I'd make sure that the person I mary is the one that love and I can live with for the rest of my life with. If that'd be the case I wouldn't see any reason for running.
