Gypsies are, IMO, the greatest probs of Romania, they swear, beat people, almast all of them are homeless, almost all of them are thieves and so on.
And one of the biggest problems with gypsies is that they emigrate in places like Spain or Italy and steal or even kill people.

I've heard this is quite true, both of my parents spent some time in Romania and that's the same exact things that they told me

You guys want to know what's the real problem in Bulgaria?

2.Gypsies.For some reason everyone calls them mexicans. But that's not the point. The point is that whenever they see a bulgarian, they'll beat him up,if not rob him and/or kill him.
Yeah, I know of the Bulgarian vs Gypsy problem. But didn't the Government put them to work or something? Like cleaning the streets ? That's what I remembe from the last time I was in Bulgarian, 10 months ago.

3.Low money.Jobs aren't decent.
Believe me you still don't have any reason to whine. I can survive for a month in Bulgaria with just €200 (= 400Leva), whilst that alsomt is impossible in Belgium. Prices in Belgium are insane and believe me, Bulgaria actually had (and still has) relatively low prices for almost everything. I know that for example the prices Cheese almonst doubles, but you'd still pay less in Bulgaria, than in Belgium, where the prices have risen too.

4.Accidents.Every day in the news they say that someone died. How dub are they is beyond me.That's why I stay in my house in a safe place.Death is just everywhere.
Sorry, but Bulgarians are very bad drivers, I've experienced it myself. The way people, especially Taxies and Trucks, drive is just completely irresponsible. The only things that drive normally and responisbly are Trolley-buses.

How about this one: WE DON'T HAVE A GOVERNMENT ?!

other things: Prices of food have risen by 25-50%, while the wages didn't rise at all

Drugs are partially legalised

People are allowed to Smoke and Drink at the age of 16

same in denmark, but that is not the problem.

The problem is that people already smoke and drink at the age of 12-13 ! That is just plain wrong, that they can get the stuff at that age and that the parents don't do anything!

So lets put up to 18 or 21!

To what good? they are still able to get it.

Then what?

I would probably try to stop it at that early age, but how - I can not answer on that. I think it lies in the culture.. the envoirment.

Maybe you could make a net-site where you declare yourselves as the leaders of Belgium as a protest to the state Belgium is in.

Then make a youtube video about it and create a clever way to advertise it. If all goes like it should you'll be famous in a few months and make to the news as "youth who cares".

Do some research. Where did you get the idea that romanians are gypsies?

(besides you also make it sound like all gypsies are bad ).

I did read the Wikipedia articles about both of them after I made that post.

Here in Finland the PC name for gypsies is "romani" and in finnish romanian would grammatically be romani so from there. I always thought Romania was their country which they had established in Europe.
I'm pretty sure we have been taught in scholl that it's not the case but I quess I skipped that class.

Would you people tell me why my post was racist? It doesn't seem like it in my eyes. I don't wanna offend anyone so I'd like to know what not to do next time.

You don't wanna take me as an example for the education level in Finland. Actually you don't wanna take anyone from our class an example.

In upper school we skipped somewhere around one fifth/fourth of the classes. We won "most unexplained missing from classes" in the whole freaking country.
I skipped around one third of the classes and the best guy from our class only actually was in school for one fifth of the classes.
He graduated.

In lower school I was a good kid only skipped one tenth of classes or so. In high school I didn't skip a single lesson.
I had permission to be absent from half of the classes.

I feel I have nowhere else to go with this, so I'll post it, here:

My brother is dying, because of cancer. He had it coming for a long time, but he decided to spend his last days, partly, with us. He had forsaken us, a long time, caused nothing but grief and doesn't respect us at all and we're supposed to just take this and care for him.

My sister gives up her changes for a high school diploma, so she could spend her life horseback-riding (don't think we're rich, she does it on different expenses(she works, there, so the costs are relatively low)) She will work for a diploma that states that she knows something about horseback riding. She's also completely dependant on her instructors and the people that supposedly would give her a job.

I am extremely shy. It is a phobia. I can't "just talk" to someone. I have poor grades and disciplinary problems. My friends are, now, taking different choices in their studies, so... bye, people whom i could freely interact with... I know that I am sometimes pretty spineless and I dislike myself for it.

my mother has to work and she's never had an education. She hasn't worked in a long time, since she married. My father died of lung cancer.

My mother also fills herself with anti-depressants and wants to control my every move and she always compares me to her other son who is a complete ...

We are also pretty poor and the inflation isn't the nicest thing around...

(Long post ahead. Read at your own risk! )

@DagothGares:

Well, I don't know what to say. Seeing as how I'm an only child, I've never had any brothers or sisters, for better or for worse.

I feel your anger about your brother though. But, look at it this way:
No matter what happens, he's still your brother. Sometimes you have to forgive and forget. This is one of those times. Hopefully, he'll turn a new leaf and this disease will make him a better person...for as much time as he has left.

As for your sister, sometimes you have to do what your heart tells you to do (cliché, I know, but oh so true, as well.). It's better to do what you want to do (as long as you hurt nobody in the process) than to submit to the wishes of people that want you to do their will (usually parents, but could apply to any number of other people, including close friends).

I'm pretty shy too. (hard to tell over the net, ain't it? )
Sometimes you just have to take things one step at a time to get through. If you want to stop being shy, you should take it slow. Trying to change your personality in one day is quite impossible. (I know...because everyone keeps telling me the same thing about my shyness. )

You should set some goals for yourself, like "just talking", as you say, to a friend's friend (not a complete stranger, but perhaps someone you've never talked to before) one day and seeing what happens. You may surprise yourself with the results. If it works well enough, you may even start gaining confidence and doing more daring things, like talking to strangers, members of the opposite sex, throwing yourself off of an airplane, with a parachute, and...well, you get the idea.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents as well. Growing up with one parent must be tough. I can't relate, seeing as how I live happily with both parents, so I can only try to imagine what it must be like.

About your mom...most parents do that whole controlling/comparing thing. I have no siblings, and my dad keeps comparing me to my cousins. He doesn't do it so much anymore, but before it was a nightmare. It really killed my self-esteem. I'm sure he didn't do it with that purpose, but it made me feel like I wasn't good enough for him. Why don't you talk to her about it? She may not realize how much this affects you.

If you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. (I've been told that I'm a good listener. )

To end this post, I'll give you a neat little quote (similar to my signature) that my friend has on her MySpace and that's a good morale booster (at least it was for me):

When the world gives you 100 reasons to cry, give the world 101 reasons to smile.

I'll be honest and say i haven't read this thread... just the title and it reminded me of a place i was not so long ago.

ok I read the thread, well most of it

hehe and wow that vlaad posted not so long ago! and hmm at the downhill times...

anyway

I just wanted to say that i didn't so much hate my life as didn't think it was worth the bother... I was coming out of it when I went to a secluded section of the world, walked a km along a river of waterfalls till I reached an oasis - waterfalls (small) and a swimming hole that you need permission from the traditional owners of the land to enter.  I swam and was swept back by the flow, floated on my back, looked into the sky and trees around me and thought omg, if i hadn't bothered to live longer, i would never have felt or seen this.   I know nothing I can say can really help people in that dark place, but I do know now that if we look, if we step off the destructive path even a little, we can find something that can make us smile - even if it's just the beating wings of a butterfly, or an unusual skeleton of a lizard...

I know the feeling of being alone, and that nothing matters. It sucks...but that's what friends are for. My best friends have always been there for me when I get depressed over one thing or another.

@DagothGares: No problem.

I'm sure she'll be fine.

Wow, I don't hate my life.  I hate it when I get error messages after I post something.  If I didn't know better, I'd say Soulstorm's bugs were causing my posts to crash, just like the game when I am victorious on a map.  But I digress.  I already had a lengthy post but since I lost it, I'll give you the jist of it.

I was feeling sorry for myself about my miserable performance on a practice test and started wondering what was the point of trying since I was probably going to wind up failing the bar exam.  Then I'd be a 26 year old with a degree I could not do anything with.  World was falling apart at the seams, blah, blah, blah.  Anyways, I discovered shortly after that another highschool acquaintance of mine died yesterday after battling cancer for 18 years.  This guy spent the greater part of his life struggling to do everything he could and live his life to its fullest, and what do I do with my time?  Complain about a test that if I fail I can always retake?  Talk about putting things in perspective.  The saddest part of it all is I forgot the advice I so freely give others.  It certainly could always be worse.
