I updated the master post with a link to toh maps that are designed for 1 vs. 1 play in hereos v. It works smoother with no AI players.
Don't worry about experience or not, it's pretty easy to set up.
If anyone wants to arrange a match with me to see how things work that would be fine, just hcm me and set up a time and I'll go on msn.
I should warn you though that I'll be away Tuesday through Saturday of this coming week.

Ok, a quick question for those that played online: Is it possible to browse the net when it's not your turn, or does this cause desyncs? If it doesn't, then how do I know when it's my turn, does the Heroes 5 flash in the taskbar or not?

It does. I alt-tab out and it flashes when it is my turn.

So you do browse the net when it's your turn and it doesn't cause desyncs?

Desyncs no but the game may crash once in a while. Still that's irrelevant when the opponent has 10-40 min turns Sometimes you just can't wait ingame.

Quick question
I am GMT +2, what does that mean? That when here it's 4 PM, in a GMT 0 place there is 2 PM?
And Phoenix, it would be nice to show the GMT of the players near the name in the master post

Masterpost updated with latest info.
Asheera and I tried to play H5 with the latest hamachi version. Hamachi worked but when either of us created a game the other couldn't see it.
We did all the normal stuff, no mods, only the correct map etc.
Anyone got an idea?

Dear everybody in this thread and singleplayers
I strongly recommend not to be afraid of playing in TOH. Just like Elvin said, it's not about bad experience and whining, but the exact opposite
I decided to join TOH about a month ago,since then I had only 6 matches so far, but they were FAR more entertaining than any game vs the AI.
At first I was a bit afraid of not being able to find ppl who would play me, despite I had some online experience before. But, from day to day a few new ppl appeared on my msn list and they were quite friendly, and we were able to arrange some games and had great fun, even when I was losing badly .
However, I strongly recommend that one should read through some strategy guides, and learn "general" creeping tricks. Also, don't be dissapointed when you lose for the first time. My first 2 games were really terrible losses, but I learned a lot from them, and after those games I packed 4 consecutive wins, even vs the player who had beaten me.
Judging from the posts I read in the temple, many ppl waste their time with singleplayer. C'mon, join toh and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it
P.S. New Toh season starts in September, so it's a good opportunity to show your skills. If you're interested don't be afraid to ask ppl (or me ) for a game, sooner or later you'll find a partner.

Thanks for your answer Clay_Man. I will try to respond, I have two points.
I did try TOH, I have one win and a couple of my other matches were very close. However,
1. This is less competitive play, geared toward having fun, and being less strict on things like reloads, and difficulty levels.
2. This initiative supports the older games too. As far as I know TOH is currently only running H5 tournaments.

All right, can somebody help me? Me and Phoenix wanted to play a H5 game, we could see and ping each other in Hamachi but there was no game showing in H5.
Now I downgraded to 1.0.1.5 and want to try with someone if it works (not want to play a H5 game right now)
Join my "test" network for now (name = Asheera H5 Test, pass = H5), or if you prefer I can join a network you provide.
Btw, disable all firewalls (just for now) to make sure that's not the problem if we can't see each other.
I have absolutely no custom Maps in the maps folder nor any Mods in the UserMods folder if that helps.
And about ToH: you know why I don't like it? Reasons:
1) I'm pretty much a noob and I don't like to "record" my noobish losses
2) I don't like the fact that we have to play Random Faction sometimes. I mean, I know how to play every faction, but I "master" only Dungeon; with the others I'll simply lose big time. And I don't even like to play with some factions.
3) As above, I don't like to play with a Random hero. I mean, where's the strategy when I leave myself in the fate of a random generating number? And it's not fair if I get Lethos as a starting Hero and Yrbeth in the Tavern
4) I like to play for fun. If one of us suicides, I want to reload, since there's no fun in ending the game like that. However, if a player suicides too often or two times in a row (after reload) then it's clearly that he wants to "trick" the neutrals and I don't like to play with those kind of players anyway.
