If you happen to be into Mtg lore, the story takes place in the Shadowmoor and Eventide expansions, which can be considered Lorwyn sequels.

No one knows who Oona is, except that she's the fae queen. And, edn, faeries don't conquer land - they're tricksters who flit around Shadowmoor being annoying.
There's more to them, but you're not supposed to know any of that.

Oh, you mean the entire plot in the IC...
If the characters overthrow Oona or something like that, then it won't be canon. But that's no problem. This plot doesn't have to be canon... in fact, when you play Magic, you take on the role of a planeswalker, summoning creatures to fight for you. Theoretically, there's only one Gaddock Teeg, but in practice, he's been summoned and killed many times by planeswalkers all over the world.

I think he meant Kulrath didn't mention his own name. Which we see there, he actually did.
Then again, after re-reading that quote, I do see it in the same way as you do now. Sort of.
